Captain Ginyu

Ginyu, referred to as Captain Ginyu by his subordinates, is the strict but loyal captain of the elite mercenary platoon, the eponymous Ginyu Force. Ginyu is an honorable, yet merciless fighter who constantly strikes poses. He possesses the ability to swap bodies.

Appearance: In his most commonly seen body, Captain Ginyu is a tall, purple humanoid alien. The top of his head displays prominent veins, similar to that of a human brain. Two black conical horns protrude from the top sides of his head. Ginyu wears a black variant of the Battle Armor that Frieza's forces wear, with lower side guards, black and white wrist bracers, and the addition of the Ginyu Force insignia on the upper left side of the chest plate. He wears black underwear as his lower body armor. Ginyu is equipped with a green Scouter.

Personality: While very arrogant and merciless in battle, Ginyu has displayed a strong sense of honor in combat and prefers fairness in his battles, as shown when he refused to break Goku's neck due to Jeice interfering in their fight, and even threatening to kill Jeice if he did it again. Goku takes note of this and insinuates that Ginyu may not be all bad and even capable of redemption.

Ginyu is shown to care deeply about his teammates. However, he also can be quite harsh to his team members if they fail a mission.

Ginyu is one of the few men who genuinely reveres Frieza. His loyalty is further shown by following any order Frieza gives him. Presumably, this genuine loyalty is why Ginyu never uses (or attempts to use) his Body Change technique on Frieza. Despite his loyalty to Frieza, however, he nonetheless claimed to Goku that he "doesn't follow the orders of anyone".

Unlike his comrades, Ginyu is a very calculating and methodical man, preferring a pragmatic approach in battle. He is noted by his subordinates to always research the mission at hand before acting. He is shown to have a very developed understanding of ki and fighting.

His power level is at around 120,000.

Abilities: Flight – The ability to take flight through the manipulation of ki.

Body Change - Once shouting "Change, now!" with his arms outstretched, Ginyu fires an energy wave from his mouth into the opponent's mouth. When it is finished, Ginyu is in the opponent's body, while they are in his own body. The individuals are shown to retain their own respective voices in their new bodies, making it harder for a person to impersonate the person they swapped with. In preparation for this technique, Ginyu usually begins by injuring himself in order to give a damaged body to his opponent.

Galaxy Dynamite - First, Captain Ginyu puts his hands to his sides and charges purple energy spheres. Then, he puts his hands forward and releases a massive barrage of energy blasts at the opponent, causing major damage to his opponent.

Ginyu Storm – Ginyu kicks his foe up into the air, then Recoome, Burter, Jeice, and Guldo jump on Ginyu's foe. After this, the team performs their own stance and complete it, inflicting high damage.

Dynamite Punch - First, Captain Ginyu says "Wide open!" as he elbows the opponent in the face. Then, he attacks the opponent with a barrage of punches before punching them away, inflicting a great amount of damage.

Milky Cannon - Captain Ginyu holds his right- or left-hand forwards, and then releases a strong purple energy wave from it. This attack is quite powerful as it makes a large crater on Namek.

Triple Milky Cannon - First, Captain Ginyu holds his hands back like the normal Milky Cannon. Then, he keeps charging it until three small energy waves join together to form an energy sphere in between his hands. Finally, Captain Ginyu points his left hand forward and fires three Milky Cannons instead of one at the opponent, inflicting a high amount of damage.

Visionary Attack - Ginyu fires a barrage of energy spheres from his finger.

Attack Ball: A spaceship used for interstellar travel.

Strong Jersey - The Strong Jersey consists of Ginyu charging a purple/pink energy sphere around himself, and afterwards charging the opponent at blinding speed with his elbow, all while shouting "You're mine!" or "You're wide open!". The attack inflicts a great amount of damage. It can also be charged to deal more by holding the buttons for a second, so Ginyu's fist will glow blue with an electric-like aura, as he generates more ki into the attack. Then he charges in the same manner as before, only inflicting more damage this time.

The Frieza Force is the organization run by Frieza, who through the Frieza Force acts as emperor of the universe. Soldiers use Scouters and ray guns attached to their wrists. They have an average power level of 1,250.

Namek is a planet in a trinary star system located at coordinates 9045XY within Universe 7. It is the home planet of the Namekians.

The Ginyu Force are an elite group of mercenaries employed by Frieza to conquer planets as a part of his army. The members of the Ginyu Force are Guldo, Recoome, Burter, Jeice, and their leader Captain Ginyu.
