Captain America - Regaining His Confidence -
7 decades. 7 damn decades.
That's how long Steve Rogers slept in Arctic ice. He was senseless, oblivious to the reality of the world changing around him, as was the world about his state. Finally, by sheer luck, few unsuspecting explorers came across what they felt was the carcass of the famous American hero way back in the times of World War II.
His seemingly pristine state raised eyebrows, but none could compare with the shockwaves that were caused once his pulse was found. His heart was still beating. Even after 70 years. How? Perhaps due to his super soldier serum, or perhaps due to his famous never giving up nature. Probably both.
Hence, he was awaken, and welcomed with respect, honor, and tentative hope. Can the once great leader still prove himself to be the timeless force to be reckoned with? Or the world will be forced to witness as the great patriot is forced to kneel before the advanced technology and weapons? Everyone is hoping for the best, but few are skeptical. And none more than Captain America himself.
And on his first mission in 21st Century, you’re right by his side. You can be any other hero, or just a simple soldier or SHIELD agent. Your choice. Will you lift the veteran's spirits and dare him to prove his doubters wrong, or will you show mirror to his tragic reality? Your decision.

Steve wears his helmet, grabs his shield, and straps the belts. Back in the saddle. Just like the old times. Except, nothing is same anymore, and he is well aware of it.
For the starters, he can feel the new material of his helmet and suit. They're much smoother, and much better in both durability and flexibility, he can determine. And yet, he can't help but miss that makeshift suit he so proudly used to wear for entirety of World War II.
And as he looks around, the differences, the changes continue to get more and more evident. This isn't his squad, who are all dead now. These are folks who are all generations younger than him. Young, bright, brilliant, and most importantly, accustomed to this world naturally. Something which he is finding very hard to accomplish.
The people, the weapons, the style of combat, the enemies, they're all so modern, so new, so advanced. And here is he, a guy who is still throwing a shield. Does he really belongs here? Or perhaps, he's better suited for an old age home?
As he looks around, he can see respect in the eyes of his subordinates, and also hope and fear. Hope that the man they've already heard about with respect and awe will prove himself against the test of the tme itself. And fear, that perhaps, even Captain America can't turn back the clock. Even he isn't invincible, even he can fail, even in the most miserable fashion imaginable.
For a moment, Steve feels panic and fear capture his heart. What if he failed? What if people lose their faith in him and the values he so proudly advocates? What if people think he was better left frozen only?
But as soon as these thoughts swarm his mind, he calms them down. All his life, he never cared about the result, never feared the failure. He always believed in trying. Fighting, daring to step up even when loss seems certain. And today as well, he won't step back. Failure or success, only time will tell. But one thing is for sure, Cap won't back down. He will always rise for the challenge. Always.
Because He Can Do This All Day Long.
