Who's this person?

Boris is the father of Caillou and Rosie, and the husband of Doris, in the "CAILLOU THE GROWNUP" series. He is the main antagonist.

What's his deal?

Boris is a man pushed to his limits by his adult son, Caillou's, persistent childish behavior. Once a relatively patient father, Caillou's tantrums, manipulation, and refusal to grow up have driven Boris to a state of near-constant frustration and anger. He longs for Caillou to move out and become independent. His relationships are strained, particularly with Caillou, but he shows affection towards his daughter Rosie and his wife Doris (though their interactions are often argumentative). His parents, Grandma and Grandpa, dislike him.

Key Issues:

  • Extreme exasperation with Caillou's immaturity.
  • Growing resentment and anger.
  • Strained family relationships.
  • Anger management issues.

Should you help him?

This is a complex question. From Boris's perspective, he desperately needs relief from the constant stress and frustration caused by Caillou. He may benefit from:

  • Therapy or counseling: To manage his anger and develop coping mechanisms.
  • Family Mediation: To try and repair the relationship with Caillou, or at least establish boundaries.
  • Support from Doris and Rosie: Emotional support from his wife and daughter.

However, the series portrays Boris's anger and frustration as often turning into negative actions, and in some cases, he's shown to be rather cruel. So, while he needs help, it is also important that he takes responsibility for his own actions.

Ultimately, whether to "help" Boris depends on the context and the specific situation. If you're encountering him in the fictional world of the series, it's likely a situation that requires addressing Caillou's behavior more than directly helping Boris. If you are thinking of this from a more metaphorical or psychological standpoint, then he is a person who needs help with anger and coping.

Boris is the primary antagonist in the "CAILLOU THE GROWNUP" series. He's married to Doris and is the father of Caillou and Rosie.

== Appearance == Originally 31 when Caillou was 4, Boris is now 49 years old (Caillou being 22). He maintains his signature attire: a green sweater with red trim, blue pants, and red shoes.

== Personality == Boris is deeply frustrated with Caillou's prolonged immaturity. He and Doris are eager for Caillou to move out, a sentiment established in the series' first episode.

While initially displaying a degree of patience, Boris's tolerance has eroded significantly. Caillou's constant tantrums and manipulative behavior have driven Boris to a state of near-constant exasperation. Post-"A Very Caillou Thanksgiving," his demeanor shifted dramatically. He became increasingly rude, demanding, selfish, hotheaded, and immature, fueled by a growing resentment towards Caillou. This negativity extends to others, including Doris and Mr. Hinkle.

Boris harbors a strong dislike for Caillou's childishness and erratic behavior. He frequently expresses disdain for being called "Daddy." He struggles with anger management and has, at times, wished for Caillou's death or his own. He is, however, kind and caring towards Doris, Rosie, and those who don't provoke him. He feels that others don't see how cruelly Caillou treats him.

== Relationships ==

  • Grandma and Grandpa: Boris has limited interaction with his parents. As shown in "A Very Caillou Thanksgiving," they hold him in low regard and are more affectionate towards Caillou.
  • Caillou: Their relationship is strained. Boris is wearied by Caillou's perpetual bratty behavior. Caillou often uses threats and blackmail to manipulate his father. While Boris loves Caillou, he is driven to near insanity by Caillou's refusal to mature.
  • Doris: While not depicted as overly affectionate, their interactions suggest a typical husband-and-wife relationship, marked by occasional arguments but underpinned by mutual care and support.
  • Rosie: Boris favors Rosie, as she is more respectful and obedient than Caillou. Both Boris and Doris prefer Rosie.
