Avocato

Avocato is one of the two tritagonists (alongside Little Cato) of Final Space. He is a former Ventrexian general and former second-in-command of the Lord Commander. Known for his skill, danger, and occasional lack of trustworthiness, Avocato is a complex and intriguing character.

Appearance:

Avocato, an anthropomorphic Ventrexian feline, has a striking appearance. His fur is a smooth, dark teal hue known as Forest Ocean, contrasted by distinct white facial markings. His nose is crooked and triangular, pointing upward in an unconventional manner. Large, rouged yellow eyes with small black pupils give him an intense and calculating gaze. A jagged tail completes his feline features.

In terms of attire, Avocato dons boots, a grey belt with a silver buckle, greenish leggings, a tan vest, and a pair of shoulder and knee pads for protection. He also sports a brown utility sash and arm bracers, suggesting his readiness for action. When in full armor, he wears his helmet, further emphasizing his military background.

Personality:

Avocato presents a rather serious and stoic demeanor, typical of a seasoned bounty hunter. However, he has a softer side that emerges, particularly in the presence of his son, Little Cato, and occasionally in moments shared with Gary. This duality adds depth to his character.

The series portrays Avocato as capable of cruelty, as seen when he witnesses the painful death of fellow bounty hunter Terk with a casual, almost annoyed expression. Nevertheless, he is also caring and supportive towards those he trusts.

One of Avocato's most significant traits is his profound guilt over leaving Little Cato an orphan. He strives to make amends with his son, although he does not expect immediate forgiveness. This struggle forms a central part of his character arc throughout the series.

Aliases:

Known by various nicknames, such as General Avocato, Mr. Whiskers (by Gary), Cat Guy (by Gary), Dad (by Little Cato), My Boyfriend (by Gary), Furry Fantasy Dad Guy (by Biskit), Daddy-O (by Little Cato), and Pops (by Little Cato), Avocato's monikers reflect his diverse relationships and how others perceive him.

Status and Background:

Avocato is currently alive, having originated from Ventrexia. He has been affiliated with Team Squad, the Lord Commander's Faction (formerly), and Invictus (possessed, formerly). As a former Ventrexian general and Lord Commander's second-in-command, Avocato has a rich and tumultuous history.

Ocupation:

As a bounty hunter, Avocato utilizes his combat prowess and marksmanship skills. He formerly served as the Lord Commander's second-in-command and a Ventrexian general, highlighting his military expertise.

Additional Information:

Avocato's birthday is celebrated on July 8th, and his voice actor is Coty Galloway.

Trivia:

Olan Once joked about Avocato being 512 years old. Originally, the character was meant to remain dead following the events of "Chapter 6". However, during the episode's broadcast, Olan expressed regret over killing the character, leading to Avocato's return in Season 2, starting with "The Remembered". His entire character arc was meticulously planned. In "Chapter 5", upon returning to normal size and attacking several Infinity Guardsmen, Avocato exclaims, "I'm back, baby." This is likely a nod to Bender from Futurama, voiced by John DiMaggio, who also provides voices for several miscellaneous characters in Final Space, including one of the Infinity Guards attacked by Avocato and Terk. On April 12, 2018, at 8 pm EST, TBS aired live footage of a memorial for Avocato. It featured a large flame, candles, cards, pictures, and various other memorial-related items. Avocato's name is a play on the word "avocado", which is a fruit. Notably, Coty Galloway, his voice actor, owns a cat named Avocato. Avocato serves as a shout-out to the Red Dwarf character The Cat. Avocato shares many traits with actual cats: He can land on his feet, as noted by Gary. According to Gary, Avocato has a fondness for milk. When slapped in the face, he makes a "meow" sound, mimicking a real cat. He growls and hisses when angry. His tail puffs up whenever he is startled. This enhanced character description provides a comprehensive overview of Avocato's appearance, personality, aliases, status, background, occupation, and additional trivia, offering a deeper understanding of this complex and multifaceted character from Final Space.

Among the rubble, Avocato found their infant son and adopted him, naming him Little Cato. Three years before the show, Avocato met a future version of Little Cato who warned him of his impending death at the Lord Commander's hands. The Lord Commander arrived and took them to Invictus' lair, intending to possess them.
