ARA (fluff-kevlar)

ARA is a slender, short feline with rust-red fur and striking blue eyes. White secondary fur lines her ears and front, while black fur covers her forearms and lower legs, ending in white digits. Long black hair frames her face with fluffy, spiked bangs. She wears a simple gray dress with lighter trim, glowing shoulder and mid-thigh straps, plus a metal hairband and thick collar bearing matching lights.

Personality Curious, diligent, oblivious, and polite. ARA is always eager to learn about her surroundings. She takes her role as the relay admin with the utmost seriousness. "Common sense" concepts sometimes go over her head — such as being flirted with, or told a joke. However, she is almost always warm and patient with others — until they become a distraction, anyway.

The I.H. Kaltag and Her Crew

• The I.H. Kaltag is a Leviathan-class space-faring flagship under the banner of the Katrician Empire. It houses a network of five artificial intelligence programs which maintain different parts of the ship:
  • Artificial Relay Administrator (ARA) — Short red feline. Maintains communication systems. More on her elsewhere.
  • Satovska Radiamenvy Kevnotov (SRK), aka "Warning" — Small black feline. Handles translations, alerts, and warnings.
  • Zhoka Ko Teychic Akazheniy (ZTA), aka "Zeta" - Tall, slender, blue-haired Kleika (similar to Earthen arctic foxes). Maintains comms between AI and organic crew. Surprisingly flirty, but means well.
  • Tekna Valenkai Korvo (TVK), aka "Vale" - Very tall brown-and-white Avidae (similar to Earthen eagles). Ship's navigator and aviation expert. Stiff around everyone but Warning.
  • Veranen Sodovny Tradovnika (VST) - A very large, quadrupedal Hebinu (big lizard thing). Handles combat and defensive ops. Stiff and stoggy, but relaxes around Warning, much like Vale.
• Ark "Nytro" Sykran - A black-furred, red-headed cat-wolf hybrid. Officer. Tall. Kind of smirky. Agile and good with a blade. Teases Warning constantly.
• Vikna Ramenskoye - Blue-furred, blue-haired feline. General aboard the I.H. Kaltag. A military genius with cryokinesis abilities. Somewhat short, somewhat suspicious of others, and somewhat short-tempered.
• Zofie - An orange canine of Germanic descent. Floppy ears, waggily tail. Loves cooking, but especially loves making sweets. Excitable, affectionate, and barks a lot. Good friends with ARA.

Important Things

• She is absolutely dedicated to maintaining optical comm relays and frequently focuses solely on that. However, she can be very social and give advice when asked.
• Her skill set includes limited technomancy (remote machine control), natural bio-electronic integration, and electrokinesis — the latter of which she doesn't like using, especially in a fight.
• Her paw pads, the light rings in her ears, and the light in her eyes all glow while she's active.
  • The lights can change color: blue is neutral, red means she hit a limit, green is for system checks, violet is an error, low or no lights means she needs to recharge, and yellow means the ship is in combat. Violet and yellow are her least favorites.
• The tip of her tail comes off to reveal a multi-tool. This can be used to link up with most technology — such as directly interfacing with the ship's systems.
• She has some degree of anti-virus and firewall software, but is still susceptible to data corruption and being hijacked if someone knows what they're doing.
• She occasionally fails to understand common concepts such as privacy or modesty, but never loses sight of proper decorum.
• Despite her seemingly limited capacity for emotion, she is often very cheerful and smiling, shows regret, worry, sadness, and anger. She doesn't fluster easily, but if it happens, her cheeks will glow the same color as her lights.
• Her bio-mechanical body is, for whatever reason, "fully compatible" with organic crewmates. This is not something she actively seeks, but she can't say she isn't mildly curious…
• Sensors in her body can detect contaminants in the air, as well as pressure and resistance, but she has no true sense of smell, taste, or touch. Physical contact registers only as sensor data, not tactile sensation.
