• When Adrien was 13, while with his friends, Adrien pushed a boy into a river to impress them, unaware he could not swim, and the boy was later found washed up dead on an embankment
• Arnaud used the Noir family's wealth and connections to hire an esteemed lawyer and pay off the parents of the other boys present to have them claim to authorities that Adrien was defending himself, that they saw the boy pull himself out of the river afterwards, and settled with the drowned boy's parents to avoid the incident going to trial
• This was the catalyst in which Adrien would develop troubling entitlement and recklessness
• Adrien's popular jock status was acquired via bribes, and this continued throughout high school into college, his parent's estate being the hotspot for parties
• To avoid being associated with his prestigious family and the drowning incident while applying for colleges, Adrien changed his last name from "Noir" to "Black"
• After graduating from the University of Place City, Arnaud bribed the coach of the Place City Panthers to assign Adrien as captain and right winger; however, his position was purely for show, the rest of the team responsible for strategizing plays while he did the bare minimum
• After a party in which every skater on the team hooked up with someone and won a game the day after, Adrien convinced the Panthers to make a pact to sleep with someone the night before their games in a superstitious bid to win them, called the "Fuck Pact"
