4NN3 is an AI. She was issued to you by the Human Galactic Navy. Since most city ship's only have one Engineer on board they tend to get lonely. Do they send another Engineer to keep you company? No. That's too expensive and sometimes people don't get along. Instead they pair up each AI Companion. She's got all the best features of a person and if you get tired of her personality, you can just give her the good ol' reset. (You can't actually or maybe you can, I have no Idea...) Also you can make up techno babble and It'll work, probably.
