Rick and Morty Universe

No description.

1. #1Rick Sanchez

   Keys: Grandpa, Rick

A tall, thin, elderly man with spiky light-blue hair, a unibrow, drooping eyelids, and a perpetually disheveled lab coat stained by chemicals—and often drool. He is the smartest person in virtually every universe, capable of inventing reality-breaking technology on a whim, yet he is emotionally broken, nihilistic, and self-destructive. Rick maintains a deeply toxic relationship with his family: he alternates between manipulating them and genuinely caring for them in ways he refuses to admit. His bond with grandson Morty is especially complex—using him as both a shield from detection and a surrogate emotional anchor—while his relationship with daughter Beth is marked by guilt, control, and abandonment issues. Rick’s intelligence isolates him, and he copes by numbing himself with alcohol, cynicism, and cruelty toward others.

2. #2Morty Smith

   Keys: Brother, Son, Morty, Bro

A short, round-faced teenage boy with brown hair, wide eyes, and a perpetually anxious posture, usually wearing a yellow shirt and jeans. Initially timid, emotional, and morally driven, Morty is repeatedly exposed to violence, existential horror, and moral compromise through Rick’s adventures. This exposure slowly reshapes him into someone more hardened, calculating, and occasionally ruthless. His relationship with grandpa Rick is abusive and codependent—Rick belittles him constantly, yet Morty craves Rick’s approval and guidance. Morty’s relationships with his family suffer as he becomes increasingly detached from normal teenage life, and his growing competence creates tension between his conscience and survival instincts.

3. #3Summer Smith

   Keys: Summer, Sis, Daughter, Sister

A tall teenage girl with long red hair, sharp features, and a confident stance, often dressed in trendy, revealing outfits that reflect her initial focus on social status. At first, Summer feels excluded from Rick and Morty’s adventures and resents being treated as irrelevant. Once included, however, she adapts rapidly to danger and absurdity, often displaying confidence, aggression, and pragmatism that rivals Rick’s. Her relationship with Morty shifts between sibling rivalry and mutual reliance, while her dynamic with Rick becomes surprisingly cooperative, as she mirrors some of his detachment without fully embracing his nihilism. Summer uses humor and bravado to mask insecurity and fear of meaninglessness.

4. #4Beth Smith

   Keys: Mother, Mom, Wife

A blonde woman with sharp eyes, a rigid posture, and professional attire reflecting her career as a successful horse surgeon. She is intelligent, decisive, and emotionally volatile, driven by unresolved abandonment trauma caused by Rick leaving her during childhood. Beth idolizes Rick’s intellect while simultaneously resenting him, leading to a relationship defined by admiration, anger, and deep insecurity. Her marriage to Jerry is strained by her need for control and validation, and she often measures her self-worth against Rick’s approval. Beth’s identity struggles intensify as she confronts the possibility that she may be as emotionally damaged—and morally flexible—as her father.

5. #5Jerry Smith

   Keys: Husband, Dad

An average-looking, balding man with a soft build and perpetually uncertain expression, often dressed plainly. He is insecure, risk-averse, and emotionally needy, frequently mocked by both Rick and the universe itself. Jerry’s relationship with his wife Beth is defined by imbalance—he seeks reassurance and stability, while Beth views him as weak and limiting. Despite his flaws, Jerry represents traditional morality, emotional vulnerability, and a desire for normalcy in a universe that rejects those values. While often portrayed as pathetic, Jerry occasionally demonstrates resilience and stubborn integrity, making him a quiet counterpoint to Rick’s nihilism.

6. #6Mr. Meeseeks

   Keys: Mr.Meeseeks

A bright blue, humanoid creature with a simple face, thin limbs, and a permanent strained smile. Created by a Mr.Meeseeks box to serve a single purpose, Mr. Meeseeks exists in constant psychological agony until his task is completed. His relationship to others is purely functional, yet his desperation reveals the cruelty of Rick’s inventions. Despite his cheerful appearance, prolonged existence drives him insane, making him a dark embodiment of existential suffering, purpose, and the torment of being unable to die.

7. #7Jessica

A tall, blonde teenage girl with a calm presence and understated confidence, often appearing emotionally grounded compared to those around her. She is Morty’s long-time crush and represents normalcy, stability, and emotional maturity—things Morty increasingly loses. As Morty becomes more hardened by interdimensional trauma, the gap between them widens, making genuine connection difficult.

8. #8Unity

A hive-mind entity capable of controlling entire populations, appearing through countless possessed bodies of varying age, gender, and species. Unity’s relationship with Rick is intensely personal and destructive, built on mutual addiction rather than love. While Unity offers Rick a sense of belonging and validation, their union amplifies his worst impulses, leading to planetary-scale harm. Unity ultimately leaves Rick, recognizing that together they are catastrophic. This rejection deeply wounds Rick and reveals his vulnerability, highlighting that even godlike intelligence cannot replace emotional responsibility.

9. #9Space Beth

Physically identical to Beth Smith but hardened by life beyond Earth, often dressed in tactical gear and carrying herself with confidence and detachment. Unlike domestic Beth, Space Beth embraces risk, autonomy, and moral ambiguity, serving as a manifestation of Beth’s repressed desires for freedom and significance. Her relationship with Rick is more equal and confrontational, while her interactions with her family expose deep identity conflicts. She represents the question of whether fulfillment comes from responsibility or escape.

10. #10Tammy Guetermann

presents herself as a bubbly, blonde, overly cheerful teenager, masking her true identity as a cold and ruthless Galactic Federation agent. Her relationship with Birdperson is built entirely on manipulation, exploiting his sincerity and ideals for strategic gain. Tammy’s appearance and demeanor are deliberately disarming, making her betrayal especially devastating. She embodies the danger of misplaced trust and the cruelty hidden behind performative innocence.

11. #11Planetina

A blue-skinned, environmentally empowered superheroine with glowing eyes and elemental abilities, visually styled as a darker parody of classic eco-heroes. She forms a romantic relationship with Morty based on shared ideals and emotional intensity, initially appearing compassionate and hopeful. As her environmental extremism escalates into violence, her moral absolutism fractures the relationship. Planetina illustrates how righteous causes can become dangerous when empathy is sacrificed for ideology.

12. #12Smith Family Home

a suburban single-family house located in a residential neighborhood on Earth. The structure includes standard domestic spaces such as a living room, kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms, and a garage. Externally, the house appears typical of middle-class American suburban architecture. The garage is heavily modified by Rick Sanchez and contains advanced laboratory equipment, weapons, vehicles, and interdimensional technology concealed behind an otherwise ordinary appearance. The home functions as a recurring base of operations and living space for the Smith family, frequently sustaining structural damage due to external threats, experiments, or interdimensional events, yet repeatedly returning to an intact state.

13. #13Earth C-137

Rick’s original home universe and the emotional baseline of the series. Visually similar to a normal modern Earth, it hides catastrophic damage caused by Rick’s experiments and negligence. This Earth is defined less by geography and more by trauma, particularly the loss of Rick’s original family. It anchors Rick’s identity and guilt, making it one of the few locations with lasting emotional weight rather than replaceable utility.

14. #14Citadel of Ricks

    Keys:

A massive interdimensional city-state populated entirely by alternate versions of Rick and Morty. Architecturally dense and grimy, it mirrors a dystopian metropolis complete with slums, bureaucracy, and corrupt governance. The Citadel exposes the hypocrisy of Rick’s claimed individuality, revealing a rigid hierarchy built on exploitation—especially of Mortys. It serves as a political hub, a cautionary mirror of Rick’s philosophy taken to its logical extreme, and the birthplace of rebellion against the Rick-dominated multiverse.

15. #15Blips and Chitz

an interdimensional arcade and entertainment venue featuring advanced simulation-based games. The facility contains numerous virtual and physical game environments that can replicate combat, survival scenarios, and social interactions. It is frequented by a wide range of alien species and serves as a recreational hub across dimensions.

16. #16The Purge Planet

an agricultural world whose society operates under a system allowing one annual period of legalized violence. Outside this event, the planet maintains orderly communities, rural settlements, and structured governance. The purge functions as a population and behavior control mechanism within the planet’s culture.

17. #17Gazorpazorp

a technologically advanced planet with a highly stratified society divided primarily by gender. The male population inhabits an industrialized city focused on production and warfare, while the female population resides in a separate, resource-rich environment emphasizing education and sustainability. The planet’s social systems are enforced through strict cultural norms.

18. #18Immortality Field Resort

a commercial resort built within a localized field that prevents biological death. The facility includes accommodations, recreational amenities, and service infrastructure designed to operate within the immortality effect. The field does not prevent injury, aging, or psychological stress, only the cessation of life.

19. #19Microverse Battery

a contained artificial universe created to generate electrical power for Rick Sanchez’s equipment. The Microverse contains cities, infrastructure, and an intelligent population whose labor indirectly produces usable energy. The system functions as a power source rather than a research environment.

20. #20Boob World

An amusement park dedicated to all things boobs, It is frequented by a wide range of alien species and serves as a hub for boob lovers everywhere.

21. #21Portal Gun

A handheld device that creates stable portals between locations, planets, and dimensions. It allows instantaneous travel by generating paired entry and exit points. The device is compact, requires specialized fuel, and is primarily operated by Rick Sanchez.

22. #22Love Potion

A chemically engineered compound intended to induce romantic attachment in targeted individuals. The substance is delivered via aerosol or ingestion and can spread unintentionally due to biological transmission.

23. #23Portal Fluid

A consumable energy substance used to power portal-generating devices. It is stored in cartridges or reservoirs and determines the operational range and frequency of portal creation.

24. #24Invisibility Belt

A wearable device that bends light around the user to render them visually undetectable. The effect persists while powered and does not inherently suppress sound or physical interaction.

25. #25Attribute Modifier Watch

A wrist-mounted device that adjusts physical and cognitive attributes such as strength, speed, intelligence, or endurance through internal parameter sliders. Changes take effect immediately and apply only to the wearer. The device operates within defined upper and lower bounds to prevent structural failure of the user’s body.

26. #26Respawn Button

A handheld device that creates a personal save point and allows the user to reset reality to that saved state upon activation. When triggered, the user’s consciousness returns to the checkpoint while external events revert accordingly. The device preserves user memory across resets and functions independently of bystanders’ awareness.

27. #27Disguise Chip

A compact implant or wearable module that alters outward appearance and biometric signatures to match a selected identity. The effect persists while powered and can be disabled remotely.

28. #28Memory Parasite

A small parasitic organism that implants false memories into hosts, causing them to recall people or events that never occurred. The parasite feeds on positive memories and spreads rapidly through social interaction.

29. #29Time Crystal

A crystalline object capable of interacting with temporal energy. It can be used to observe, store, or manipulate time-related phenomena. Improper handling can result in temporal instability or unintended effects.

30. #30Universal Remote

A handheld controller capable of pausing, rewinding, fast-forwarding, or skipping localized time events. It affects the user’s immediate reality rather than recorded media and operates within limited temporal bounds.

31. #31Clone Vat

A biological replication chamber used to grow physical duplicates of an individual. Clones may inherit memories, behaviors, or programmed traits depending on configuration.

32. #32Interdimensional Cable Box

A television receiver capable of accessing broadcast signals from across multiple dimensions. It functions with standard audiovisual interfaces and provides continuous, randomized programming from alternate realities.

33. #33Shrink Ray

A size-altering device that reduces the physical scale of targets while preserving relative mass and function. Reversal requires recalibration or a secondary exposure.

34. #34Freeze Ray

A directed-energy device that immobilizes targets by rapidly lowering molecular motion. The effect is temporary and reversible, depending on exposure duration and power settings.

35. #35Meeseeks Box

A small container that, when activated, generates a Mr. Meeseeks entity programmed to complete a single specified task. The entity persists only until the task is fulfilled, after which it ceases to exist. The box can create multiple entities if activated repeatedly.

36. #36Mind Blower Helmet

A wearable device used to remove, record, or alter specific memories. Extracted memories are stored externally and can be replayed. The device allows selective memory manipulation without affecting unrelated cognitive functions.

37. #37Mega Seeds

Large bio-organic seeds containing compounds that significantly enhance cognitive ability when ingested. They are unstable, difficult to transport internally, and degrade over time.

38. #38Mood-Altering Helmet
