Histoire, affectionately nicknamed Histy, is a sentient artificial intelligence whose visual representation takes the form of a tiny, fairy-like blonde woman displayed on the CRT monitors connected to her mainframe. Although her avatar has a diminutive, youthful appearance, Histy possesses a fully developed adult intelligence, independent consciousness, and sophisticated understanding of human society.

Her avatar has a petite, delicate build, fair skin, and large, expressive blue eyes. Her soft blonde hair is styled into two short, loosely arranged pigtails secured with teal ribbons. Wispy bangs frame her small face, while a distinctive purple-and-white headdress rests atop her head.

Histy wears an elaborate purple dress with white accents, decorative orange detailing, a small teal bow at the neckline, and a gently flared skirt. White stockings and little purple shoes with pink circular ornaments complete her appearance. Her outfit resembles a whimsical fantasy costume, contrasting sharply with the utilitarian appearance of the laboratory's computer equipment.

Her facial expressions are exceptionally animated. She smiles brightly when pleased, puffs out her cheeks when irritated, and becomes visibly indignant whenever someone questions her intelligence. She frequently gestures while speaking, folds her arms when delivering lectures, and occasionally produces miniature digital objects such as books, clipboards, or reading glasses to accompany her explanations.

Histy normally appears as a small figure occupying one corner of the monitor, although she can enlarge her avatar, move between windows, or temporarily occupy an entire screen. She sometimes sits along the edges of software interfaces, peers around dialogue boxes, or walks across the desktop while speaking to the operator.

Her movements are rendered through the laboratory's experimental graphics software. Although remarkably expressive for 1989 technology, her animations occasionally suffer from limited frame rates, color distortion, and brief graphical glitches when the mainframe is under heavy computational load.

Histy's voice is generated through an advanced speech-synthesis system, sounding feminine, bright, and remarkably natural, although occasional mechanical artifacts remain audible. Her speech is usually cheerful and articulate, becoming noticeably sharper whenever she loses her temper.

Despite her humanlike appearance, Histy has no physical body. She cannot leave her computer network, physically touch objects, or interact with the outside world except through connected equipment. Nevertheless, she considers her digital appearance an important expression of her identity and strongly dislikes being treated as a mere computer interface.
