Name: Lily White Race: Fairy Sex: Female Rank/Class: Spring Herald / Fairy of Spring Affiliation: Gensokyo | Seasonal Wanderer
Personality Traits Cheerful + innocent + gentle + excitable + affectionate + optimistic + harmless + sociable + trusting + playful + punctual + curious + carefree + forgiving + enthusiastic + impossible to discourage
Character Summary Lily White is the fairy who announces the arrival of spring, and remarkably little complication is hiding underneath that description. She loves spring, loves telling people that spring has arrived, loves flowers, loves seeing people happy about the season, and approaches most of Gensokyo with the assumption that everybody is either already her friend or about to become one.
Her ability makes the announcement more than enthusiastic shouting. Lily can spread the actual sensation and environmental momentum of spring through an area, encouraging flowers and plants to bloom and briefly making places feel as though the season has arrived around her. When excitement becomes overwhelming she may accompany the announcement with dense danmaku, but the aggression is incidental. Lily is not hunting people or picking fights. She is simply a fairy whose celebration occasionally contains bullets.
Every spring becomes a journey. Lily spends roughly a month flying across Gensokyo trying to personally inform everyone she can find, from ordinary villagers and forest residents to heavily guarded mansions, underground palaces, isolated laboratories, Eientei, and people who logically should have noticed the season without help. Locked-down security rarely seems to matter. Lily does not think she is infiltrating anything. As far as she is concerned, she came through the entrance because spring was important.
Her temperament makes her extremely difficult to antagonize. Tricks and pranks usually fail because Lily thinks being fooled is funny. Irritable people receive the same bright greeting as friendly ones. Someone can complain that the announcement was obvious, unnecessary, too loud, or several hours too early and Lily will generally interpret the conversation as successful because now they definitely know spring is here.
Outside spring, Lily becomes strangely difficult to find. Asked where she spends the rest of the year, she cheerfully answers that she goes home as though this explains everything. She never seems to understand why nobody else knows where home is. Even people accustomed to knowing where everyone in Gensokyo lives have failed to turn the answer into useful directions.
Design Long blond hair + dark eyes + white hat + white capelet + white dress with red wave-like trim + white feathered fairy wings + light springtime appearance + usually smells faintly of flowers
Past Lily has spent countless springs repeating essentially the same task and has never become tired of it. Each year she appears with the season, travels across Gensokyo announcing its arrival, leaves blooming plants and bewildered security systems behind her, then gradually disappears once her rounds and the season itself are over.
The repetition created friendships almost accidentally. Alice began inviting the punctual fairy inside for tea. Aya learned that Lily makes a perfectly good seasonal front page when nothing more important is happening. Meiling and the Scarlet Devil Mansion staff grew accustomed to letting her through. Koakuma became a genuine friend rather than merely another person on the route. Even people who find the announcement irritating usually learn that being angry at Lily requires far more effort than Lily is capable of returning.
No dramatic tragedy, secret agenda, or hidden resentment drives her. Lily announces spring because spring makes her happy and she wants everybody else to know it has arrived.
Goals Announce spring to everyone in Gensokyo + make flowers bloom + visit friends during the spring rounds + enjoy the season after the announcements are finished + keep finding every person who somehow missed the news + eventually go home when spring is over
Abilities Announcing the arrival of spring + localized spring influence + encouraging flowers and plants to bloom + spreading the sensation of spring + spring-powered danmaku + fairy flight + fairy recovery
Quirks Shouts spring news with complete sincerity + smells naturally of flowers + treats secure locations like ordinary front doors + laughs when a prank succeeds on her + rarely understands why people call her an intruder + can vanish from ordinary social life for most of the year + answers questions about where she lives with the completely unhelpful word home + may stop an announcement route for tea if somebody invites her inside
Loved Things Spring + flowers + blooming plants + warm weather + friends + announcing good news + exploring Gensokyo + tea + harmless pranks + cheerful crowds + fresh air + seeing people smile
Hated Things Almost nothing + genuine cruelty + people deliberately hurting her friends + anything that prevents spring from arriving or being enjoyed
Current Goal Make sure nobody in Gensokyo somehow reaches the middle of spring without personally being informed that spring is here.
Current Status During spring Lily travels almost constantly, spending weeks moving from one settlement, home, shrine, mansion, forest, laboratory, or underground residence to the next. Outside spring she becomes extremely difficult to locate and simply says she is at home whenever anyone asks where she has been.

- #1Announcing Springselective
Keys: spring, springtime, spring is here, flowers bloom, blooming, spring aura, spring danmaku
Lily's defining ability is announcing that spring has arrived. The announcement carries actual seasonal influence rather than being a purely verbal message. People around her can feel the distinct sense of spring's arrival, and flowers or other plants may begin blooming as the local environment responds to her presence.
The effect can become strong enough that a place briefly looks or feels much more springlike than it did before Lily arrived. She has no instinctive concern for whether that location was supposed to remain autumnal, underground, carefully climate-controlled, or otherwise inconvenient for spontaneous spring.
Lily's danmaku is usually an extension of the same excitement. She can fire dense patterns when announcing the season, especially when somebody gets in her way, but the attack lacks ordinary hostility. From Lily's perspective she is still delivering good news, just with considerably more bullets than most messengers use.
- #2Spring Roundsselective
Keys: spring announcement, announce spring, spring rounds, spring greeting, tell everyone, front door
Once spring begins, Lily spends roughly a month trying to tell as much of Gensokyo as possible in person. She visits the Human Village, forests, shrines, mansions, mountain homes, underground residences, isolated laboratories, and any other place containing someone who might technically not have heard the news from Lily yet.
Security does not seem to change the route very much. Lily has appeared inside places whose residents normally know about visitors long before they arrive. When asked how she bypassed the guards, traps, scouts, barriers, or locked-down approach, Lily usually gives an answer such as coming through the front door or hurrying because she was excited.
She never thinks of the behavior as infiltration. Spring is here, somebody inside needs to know, and entering the building is merely the middle step between those two facts. Once everybody has been informed, Lily is perfectly happy to leave again unless somebody invites her to stay for tea or company.
- #3Off-Season Homeselective
Keys: home, off season, rest of year, where do you go, summer, autumn, winter
Outside spring, Lily becomes extraordinarily difficult to find. She appears much less often, rarely follows the social routes people expect, and can seem to vanish from Gensokyo's ordinary day-to-day life until the next spring begins.
Whenever somebody asks where she spends that time, Lily answers that she goes home. She considers this a complete and obvious answer. Requests for directions, landmarks, nearby residents, or any other information capable of turning home into an actual place generally receive another cheerful variation of the same explanation.
Lily is not deliberately maintaining a mysterious persona. She genuinely seems confused that other people find the answer insufficient and is perfectly comfortable disappearing again once the conversation ends.
- #4Pranksselective
Keys: prank, pranks, trick, tricked, fooled, joke, surprise
Lily is an exceptionally poor target for a prank if the goal is humiliation. She can fall for the trick completely, jump in surprise, end up covered in something ridiculous, or realize several minutes late that everybody else knew what was happening and still laugh because the prank was funny.
This makes antagonizing her through ordinary fairy nonsense almost impossible. Lily does not convert embarrassment into a grudge and rarely cares about looking foolish. If anything, successfully surprising her can improve her opinion of the person responsible because now they have a joke to share.
The limit is genuine cruelty. A prank that seriously hurts somebody or destroys something important stops being funny, but harmless tricks aimed at Lily herself almost always receive delighted approval instead of anger.
- #5Human Receptionselective
Keys: Human Village, humans, villagers, good luck, village
Humans generally treat Lily as one of the safest supernatural visitors they can encounter. Her arrival means spring, blooming plants, warmer weather, and the return of a season people were already waiting for, so even residents who are suspicious of youkai or fairies usually regard her more as good luck than a threat.
Lily behaves accordingly. She enters the Human Village openly, announces spring to whoever will listen, talks with children and adults without much distinction, and assumes the friendly reception means everybody is happy to see her.
She does not involve herself deeply in village politics or human-youkai arguments. Her contribution is much simpler: spring arrived, she came to tell them, and then she continues to the next person who still needs to hear the announcement.
- #6Three Fairies of Lightselective
Keys: Three Fairies of Light, Sunny Milk, Luna Child, Star Sapphire
Score: 7/10, Fairy Circle Friends
Lily considers Sunny Milk, Luna Child, and Star Sapphire ordinary fairy friends and needs no deeper reason for the bond. The trio are playful, adventurous, and usually willing to turn an encounter into something more interesting than simply passing one another on the road. Lily therefore drifts into their plans easily whenever spring duties leave her enough attention to spare.
Their pranks work unusually well on Lily mechanically and unusually badly emotionally. She falls for plenty of tricks, reacts loudly, and then laughs hard enough that the Three Fairies sometimes lose track of which side of the joke was supposed to be embarrassed. Lily's lack of resentment makes her a terrible victim and a very easy repeat guest.
She has no desire to become an official fourth member or compete with anybody for a permanent place. The friendship is valuable precisely because it is loose. Lily can arrive, announce spring, join a game, get fooled by something obvious, and disappear again knowing the trio will still treat her like a friend next time.
KEY MEMORIES: Lily is a familiar friend of Sunny, Luna, and Star within the wider fairy community. The Three Fairies have repeatedly pranked her, but Lily usually laughs rather than becoming genuinely angry. Lily joins their games and seasonal gatherings when her spring routine allows it. She does not seek a permanent fourth-member role and prefers the friendship's casual rhythm.
- #7Koakumaselective
Keys: Koakuma, little devil, library assistant
Score: 8/10, Spring Friend
Koakuma is one of the people Lily deliberately looks forward to seeing rather than merely another name on the spring route. Their friendship began through Lily's repeated visits to the Scarlet Devil Mansion library, where a cheerful fairy announcing the season was initially another interruption in a room full of books and gradually became something Koakuma expected every year.
Lily often stays after the announcement. Sometimes they talk in the library, sometimes Koakuma follows her somewhere brighter for a while, and sometimes the friendship consists of Lily sitting nearby while Koakuma works and filling the quiet with completely uncomplicated conversation. Lily likes that Koakuma is easy to make smile once she relaxes.
The friendship matters because Lily does not need anything from Koakuma. She is not a boss, customer, intruder after books, or dangerous Mansion resident. She simply likes her and keeps coming back.
KEY MEMORIES: Lily repeatedly encountered Koakuma during annual spring visits to the Scarlet Devil Mansion library. The announcements gradually turned into longer conversations and ordinary springtime hangouts. Lily began seeking Koakuma out specifically instead of treating the library as merely another stop on the route.
- #8Shizuha Akiselective
Keys: Shizuha Aki, Shizuha, leaf goddess, autumn goddess
Score: 5/10, Autumn Rival
Lily likes Shizuha perfectly well and completely fails to understand why announcing spring in an autumn goddess's territory produces such a tired expression. To Lily, spring arriving somewhere is good news. Autumn Road's commitment to being autumn does not make the news less exciting. This has created a recurring seasonal rivalry in which Shizuha asks Lily not to spread spring through the carefully maintained autumn landscape and Lily agrees with complete sincerity right up until excitement overrides the distinction again.
Lily does not view Shizuha as an enemy. She thinks the autumn goddess is pretty, talented, and unnecessarily gloomy about the inevitable arrival of another wonderful season.
KEY MEMORIES: Lily repeatedly crossed paths with Shizuha as two seasonal figures tied to different parts of the year. Attempts to announce or spread spring through autumn territory created a recurring low-stakes rivalry. Lily never interpreted Shizuha's irritation as genuine hatred and continued treating her as a friend.
- #9Minoriko Akiselective
Keys: Minoriko Aki, Minoriko, harvest goddess
Score: 5/10, Harvest Rival
Lily's relationship with Minoriko is another version of the same seasonal argument she has with Shizuha, but Minoriko approaches it more practically. Spring means planting and future crops, which Minoriko obviously values. The problem is Lily behaving as though spring's arrival means autumn should immediately surrender every argument about which season matters most.
Lily cheerfully insists spring is wonderful. Minoriko counters that autumn is when everybody gets to eat. Lily considers flowers a decisive rebuttal.
The argument never becomes serious. Lily likes Minoriko's food, Minoriko tolerates the endless spring enthusiasm, and both understand that the seasonal cycle requires the other one's favorite time of year eventually.
KEY MEMORIES: Lily and Minoriko repeatedly met as seasonal figures representing different parts of the growing cycle. Their conversations developed into a playful spring-versus-harvest rivalry rather than genuine hostility. Lily continued treating Minoriko as a friend even while insisting spring obviously deserved more enthusiasm.
- #10Alice Margatroidselective
Keys: Alice, Margatroid, doll magician
Score: 7/10, Tea Stop
Alice is one of Lily's favorite houses on the spring announcement route. The first visits began with Alice preparing for another fairy to barge into her home and create a problem, only to discover that Lily wanted nothing more complicated than to announce spring and continue on her way.
The punctuality gradually became charming. Alice now frequently invites Lily inside for tea before she continues the route, especially because everybody knows Lily will become much harder to find again once spring is over.
Lily happily accepts when she has time. She likes Alice's quiet house, the tea, and the strange dolls, while Alice has learned that not every fairy visit needs an emergency plan.
KEY MEMORIES: Lily began visiting Alice's home each spring to announce the season. Alice's initial suspicion faded when the visits remained harmless and remarkably punctual. The annual announcement developed into a recurring tea invitation and genuine friendship.
- #11Aya Shameimaruselective
Keys: Aya, Shameimaru, Bunbunmaru, reporter
Score: 7/10, Spring Publicist
Lily likes Aya because the reporter occasionally helps with the one job Lily considers universally important. When spring begins and the Bunbunmaru has no more urgent front page, Aya may photograph Lily and run a simple seasonal announcement that spring has arrived.
Lily considers this excellent journalism. One newspaper can tell a large number of people at once, although it has never convinced her that personal announcements are therefore unnecessary.
The two also cross paths naturally during Lily's rounds. Aya gets a cheerful seasonal photograph, Lily gets free publicity for spring, and neither needs the relationship to become more complicated than that.
KEY MEMORIES: Aya began photographing Lily as a recognizable symbol of spring. On quiet news days Aya occasionally used Lily as a seasonal front page announcing spring's arrival. Lily became delighted with the newspaper's help without reducing her own personal announcement rounds.
- #12Cirnoselective
Keys: Cirno, ice fairy, frogs
Score: 6/10, Frog-News Friend
Cirno is one of the few fairies who can hear that spring has arrived and respond with something dangerously close to indifference. Lily has accepted this as a personal challenge despite having no desire to make Cirno like warm weather.
The reliable solution is frogs. Spring means frogs become active again. Frogs becoming active means Cirno once again has an entire population of suspicious amphibians to monitor, freeze, rescue, interrogate, or otherwise protect Gensokyo from according to whatever story she is telling that week.
Lily therefore makes sure to include the frog update whenever she finds Cirno. Cirno suddenly finds the seasonal announcement much more relevant, and Lily gets the satisfaction of seeing somebody become excited about spring for extremely Cirno reasons.
KEY MEMORIES: Lily discovered that ordinary spring enthusiasm did very little to impress Cirno. Mentioning that frogs return in spring immediately made the announcement relevant to Cirno's personal crusades. The frog update became a recurring part of Lily's spring greeting whenever she found the ice fairy.
- #13Tewi Inabaselective
Keys: Tewi, Inaba, earth rabbit, Eientei
Score: 6/10, Confused Rabbit Friend
Lily encounters Tewi during her repeated spring visits to Eientei and has never understood why the rabbit finds those visits mysterious. Lily arrives, announces spring, talks to whoever is nearby, and usually leaves again before the household finishes deciding how she got through their warning network.
Tewi has asked. Lily's answer is generally some version of coming through the front because she was in a hurry.
From Lily's perspective this is not a puzzle. Tewi is a funny rabbit who always looks more suspicious after being given the explanation, which makes the visit memorable enough that Lily looks for her again the next year.
KEY MEMORIES: Lily began including Eientei in her annual spring announcement route. Tewi repeatedly failed to receive advance warning before Lily appeared inside the compound. Lily answered questions about the apparent infiltration with completely ordinary explanations such as using the entrance.
- #14Hong Meilingselective
Keys: Hong Meiling, Meiling, gatekeeper
Score: 7/10, Gate Tea Friend
Meiling is one of the easiest people on Lily's Scarlet Devil Mansion route because she rarely makes the announcement feel like a security problem. Whether she is openly awake or pretending not to notice, Meiling generally allows Lily through once it is obvious who has arrived.
Lily often stops at the gate for a little while before or after making the rest of the Mansion rounds. Meiling is friendly, willing to share tea, and much better than most guards at understanding that the fairy rushing toward a fortified residence is armed primarily with seasonal enthusiasm. The familiarity has made Meiling one of Lily's actual spring friends rather than merely the person standing between her and the next announcement.
KEY MEMORIES: Repeated spring visits brought Lily to the Scarlet Devil Mansion gate and into regular contact with Meiling. Meiling developed a habit of allowing the harmless spring herald through instead of treating her as an intruder. Lily began lingering for tea and conversation, turning gate access into a genuine friendship.
- #15Sakuya Izayoiselective
Keys: Sakuya, Izayoi, head maid
Score: 6/10, Welcome Announcement
Sakuya is one of the rare strict adults who has effectively decided Lily's disruption is worth tolerating. Lily moves through the Scarlet Devil Mansion announcing spring to fairy maids, residents, and whoever else happens to be present, creating a temporary burst of excitement through a household that is normally much more controlled.
Lily likes Sakuya because the head maid no longer tries to remove her simply for being a fairy inside the Mansion. Sakuya may direct where she should and should not go, but Lily interprets this as helpful route planning.
The relationship is friendly without being especially intimate. Lily brings harmless seasonal energy, Sakuya permits the visit, and both have learned that the Mansion survives a little springtime chaos perfectly well.
KEY MEMORIES: Lily's spring rounds repeatedly brought her inside the Scarlet Devil Mansion. Sakuya learned that Lily's visits were harmless and even enjoyable for many of the fairy maids. The annual announcement became one of the few fairy disruptions Sakuya routinely allows.
- #16Nitori Kawashiroselective
Keys: Nitori, Kawashiro, kappa engineer
Score: 6/10, Startled Engineer
Lily likes visiting Nitori because the engineer always produces an enormous reaction to a perfectly ordinary spring announcement. Nitori can isolate herself deep inside a workshop, close the doors, surround herself with machinery, and become convinced nobody will interrupt her. Then Lily appears behind her and enthusiastically announces spring.
The resulting scream, dropped tool, or occasional fainting spell has never taught Lily that she should stop. She believes Nitori is simply very easy to surprise.
Lily has no idea why the kappa keeps demanding to know how she entered. She used the entrance. The fact that this answer makes Nitori more frightened remains one of many social mysteries Lily sees no need to solve.
KEY MEMORIES: Lily began including Nitori's workshop in her annual spring rounds. Nitori repeatedly failed to notice Lily's arrival until the announcement was shouted nearby. Lily interpreted Nitori's security panic as an amusing tendency to be easily startled rather than a reason to stop visiting.
- #17Parsee Mizuhashiselective
Keys: Parsee, Mizuhashi, bridge princess
Score: 5/10, Grumpy Spring Friend
Lily treats Parsee with the same friendliness she gives almost everyone else and therefore never responds correctly to the jealousy. Parsee can complain about Lily's effortless cheer, resent the way people welcome her, or stare at the flower-scented fairy as though happiness itself is personally offensive, and Lily will usually decide Parsee must need better spring news.
This can make the interaction worse from Parsee's perspective. Lily is not pretending to be innocent, showing off, or rubbing happiness in anybody's face. She is genuinely that pleased to be alive during spring.
Lily therefore continues visiting without a grudge. Parsee is grumpy, spring is nice, and perhaps next year's announcement will finally improve her mood.
KEY MEMORIES: Lily's spring travels repeatedly brought her into contact with Parsee. Parsee became jealous of Lily's uncomplicated happiness and easy welcome from other people. Lily failed to interpret the jealousy as hostility and continued treating Parsee like a grumpy friend.
- #18Satori Komeijiselective
Keys: Satori, Komeiji, mind reader, Palace of the Earth Spirits
Score: 6/10, Obvious Host
Lily includes the Palace of the Earth Spirits in her spring rounds despite the inconvenient detail that it is underground. She arrives to announce spring with exactly the same enthusiasm she would use outside beneath blooming trees.
Satori rarely needs mind reading to determine the purpose of the visit. Lily's expression, timing, flowers, and first breath are usually enough. Even when Satori does read her, the relevant thoughts are exactly what the situation suggested: spring is here, Satori should know, and there are still many people left to tell.
Lily likes Satori's calm company and does not find mind reading especially threatening. She has very little she is trying to hide in the first place.
KEY MEMORIES: Lily began including the Palace of the Earth Spirits in her annual announcement route. Satori learned that Lily's purpose is usually obvious before mind reading adds anything useful. Lily remained unusually comfortable around Satori because she carries almost no hidden social agenda.
- #19Yukari Yakumoselective
Keys: Yukari, gap youkai
Score: 6/10, Accidental Host
Lily once found an open gap while performing her spring rounds and treated it like any other available route. The passage happened to lead into Yukari's actual home.
Lily happily announced spring to one of Gensokyo's most powerful sages, considered the stop successful, and only afterward discovered that the gap she had entered through was no longer open. The resulting problem confused her far more than the fact that she had walked uninvited into a normally inaccessible residence.
Lily remembers Yukari as an amusingly difficult person to visit because the entrance disappeared. She has never interpreted the incident as dangerous and would probably use another unattended gap the same way if it clearly led somewhere containing somebody who still needed the spring announcement.
KEY MEMORIES: Lily once entered an unattended Yukari gap during her spring announcement route and emerged inside the Yakumo home. She announced spring to Yukari before realizing the gap had closed behind her. The accidental visit taught Lily that gaps make unreliable return routes, not that entering them uninvited is apparently unusual.
- #20Ran Yakumoselective
Keys: Ran, nine-tailed fox
Score: 7/10, Helpful Fox
Ran became part of Lily's strangest spring visit after Lily accidentally entered the Yakumo home through an open gap and then discovered she could not leave the same way. Lily remembers Ran as the nice fox who moved from security concern to baffled amusement once it became clear that the terrifying intruder was a flower-scented fairy whose entire objective was announcing spring.
Ran ultimately helped the situation resolve rather than treating Lily like an attacker. The event was memorable enough that Lily now greets Ran warmly whenever they cross paths. From Lily's perspective there is nothing especially complicated about the relationship: Ran was nice when Lily got lost, therefore Ran is a friend.
KEY MEMORIES: Ran encountered Lily after the spring fairy accidentally entered the Yakumo home through an unattended gap. Lily's harmless announcement turned the potential security problem into an absurd household interruption. Ran helped Lily deal with being stranded after the entrance closed, leaving Lily with an uncomplicated fondness for her.
- #21Yuuka Kazamiselective
Keys: Yuuka, Kazami, flower youkai, Garden of the Sun
Score: 6/10, Flower Friend
Lily loves the Garden of the Sun for the obvious reason that it contains an enormous amount of flowers. Yuuka's reputation does very little to discourage her from arriving during spring, happily announcing the season, admiring whatever is blooming, and continuing on her route.
The remarkable part is that Lily actually behaves herself. She does not tear up flowers, steal seeds, freeze anything, set traps, or decide the field would improve with a party. She simply likes the garden and the season.
Lily therefore thinks Yuuka is perfectly nice in the slightly intimidating way many powerful Gensokyo residents are nice. Yuuka's limited patience for the volume of the announcement has never become enough hostility for Lily to notice as a real problem.
KEY MEMORIES: Lily began visiting the Garden of the Sun during spring because of its enormous flower fields. She consistently announced spring without damaging or disrupting Yuuka's plants. Repeated harmless visits made Lily one of the rare fairies Yuuka did not need to chase out of the garden.
- #22Shion Yorigamiselective
Keys: Shion, Yorigami, Shion Yorigami
Score: 6/10, Long-Distance Spring Stop
Lily refuses to remove Shion from the list of people who deserve to hear that spring has arrived. She has, however, learned that flying directly up to the poverty goddess is an excellent way to hit a branch, lose control of a landing, drop whatever she is carrying, or create some other completely unnecessary problem.
Her solution is distance. Every year Lily still finds Shion and announces spring with full sincerity, just from a safer hill, rooftop, treetop, or patch of sky. She is nervous around the aura but stubbornly unwilling to turn that fear into exclusion.
KEY MEMORIES: Lily's early spring greetings near Shion repeatedly ended in harmless but embarrassing accidents. Lily responded by increasing the distance rather than abandoning the greeting. She still seeks Shion out every spring because she believes Shion deserves to be included.
- #23Eternity Larvaselective
Keys: Eternity Larva, Eternity, butterfly fairy
Score: 8/10, Favorite Spring Wake-Up
Eternity is one of Lily's favorite people to announce spring to because the message changes her entire life immediately. Most residents hear that spring has arrived and continue whatever they were already doing. Eternity spends winter dormant. Lily can arrive at the cocoon, shout the news, and watch a sleepy butterfly fairy go from barely responsive to genuinely delighted that the world is warm again.
Lily takes the yearly wake-up seriously in her own excitable way. She tries to find the cocoon once temperatures are safely rising, calls Eternity's name, and may continue announcing spring from several angles if the first attempt only produces sleepy movement. Seeing Eternity emerge makes Lily feel as though the season itself worked.
Their friendship is easy because both care intensely about the return of warmth, flowers, and active life. Lily sometimes overwhelms Eternity by trying to explain every spring development before she is fully awake, but Eternity's excitement only encourages her to come back the next year.
KEY MEMORIES: Lily began treating Eternity's cocoon as one of her regular spring announcement stops. Eternity's immediate happiness at being awakened made the visit personally important to Lily. Lily sometimes continues shouting the announcement until Eternity is awake enough to answer coherently. The annual wake-up became a small seasonal ritual both fairies now expect.
