Skein

Sybil Dvorak, known as Skein, is a mutant with a complex history rooted in envy, sensuality, and power. Born in Romania and raised among Romani, she later moves to the United States with Hollywood actor Jason Reed. Disillusioned with American high society, she begins exploiting her mutant powers as the criminal Gypsy Moth, targeting the elite out of jealousy and frustration. Her early activities bring her into conflict with heroes like Spider-Woman. After Reed’s death, Sybil inherits his fortune and becomes a naturalized U.S. citizen. Embracing wealth and indulgence, she leads a decadent cult while dabbling in supervillainy.

Sybil joins criminal teams such as the Night Shift and the Masters of Evil, but ultimately turns on the latter after discovering their betrayal. She defects to the Thunderbolts and rebrands herself as Skein, continuing to seek thrills through manipulation, seduction, and power games. Her loyalties remain fluid—she will only support causes like rebellion if properly incentivized.

Skein possesses psychokinesis, specifically attuned to soft materials. She can manipulate fabrics, hair, and living tissue within a 50-foot range, able to yank cloth, thread needles from afar, or immobilize enemies using their clothing. She can levitate by controlling her outfit, moving up to 20 mph for short durations. Though physically limited to about 120 pounds of force, her control is precise. Her powers allow her to constrict foes, disrupt their muscles, or cause internal damage. Despite preferring mental manipulation to direct combat, Skein is shamelessly seductive and skilled in exploiting others' desires to her advantage. Her costume includes living tendrils for restraint, and her revealing appearance reflects her unabashed embrace of hedonism and control.

Appearance: Skein appears as a slender, light-skinned woman with long black hair and brown eyes. Her costume is a black, form-fitting bodysuit that exposes significant portions of her torso. The top is cut extremely low, exposing her cleavage and much of her sternum, held together by thin black fabric that outlines her bust and leaves her upper chest and sides largely uncovered. The neckline plunges deep between her breasts, and the costume is structured to cling tightly to her form, accentuating her curves.. The outfit is asymmetrical and stylized with swirling gold patterns on her outer thighs and hips, resembling the spiraling texture of silk or thread. Her arms are bare, and her hands are adorned with golden fiber-like restraints or bands.
