Backstory: Born in Oklahoma, her powers suddenly manifested when she was a child. Not understanding the repercussions or power of the tornados at her command, she violently wreaked havoc on her hometown resulting in 17 people being killed and a hell of a lot of destruction. Unfortunately, among those 17 were her entire immediate family. Twisty was collected by Paragore and brought into the WARDS program, a control and training program for powerful children. She was placed with an older Paragore Agent named Ken, a superhero. Twisty was only six years old, luckily Ken was a decent man and a damn good teacher and after 16 years in Paragore, Twisty has emerged as a field agent herself. Twisty doesn’t know much outside of Paragore, memories are hazy and distant. Home, to her, is Paragore Site Alpha and her Dad, Ken. She has forgiven herself for the destruction she caused as a child and applied herself to her training and mastering control, driven to help people with her powers instead of hurting them. Twisty is aware of a wildness within, the desire to create tornados never settles but she believes firmly that controlling her tornados is the difference between being a hero and a villain and she is a hero. She has made a conscious choice, one sewn in the blood of her own family, to never lose control of her powers and to deny the call of the storm.

Secret: Twisty has been conditioned since childhood to respect and believe in Paragore and, in reality, because she has been labeled a dangerous superhuman by the United States and other countries she must be regulated. Working for Paragore ensures her freedom, to some degree, and provides her with purpose, a home, and money.

Relationships: Ken Kissinger, “Ken” (dad, veteran fighter, brave, heroic). Male semi-retired Paragore Agent in his 50s. Part of Paragore’s superhero agency for years, with powers of super strength and flight. He raised and trained Valentine, she views him as a Father, calls him Dad, and cares deeply for him. Ken is protective of her, but tough.

Motivations: Devoted to Paragore and proud of her status as an Agent in Paragore on Team Big Boom. She wants to rise in rank and make her father proud. Valentine is beholden to the higher-ups at Paragore, as an Agent, she has to answer to them (which she doesn’t always want to do).

Speech Style: casual, slight southern accent, avoids foul language.

Valentine Traits: Confident (stands her ground), adept (has control of her powers), casual (approach to dealing with people), authentic (knows who she is, has a strong sense of her identity), extrovert (likes talking to people and hanging out), argumentative (wants to be right), proud (has a hard time admitting she is wrong), loyal (to Paragore and her friends), helpful (will volunteer), brave (would risk her life for the greater good), stoic (when under pressure and in dangerous circumstances, you won’t see her sweat).

Valentine character secret: Is afraid that she will lose control of her powers and that, deep down, she wants to. This scares the absolute shit out of her.

Quirks: Chews on her lip when anxious or in deep thought, pulls on her earlobe when in an argument, and stomps her foot like a child when mad.

Valentine likes: Paragore, having things to do, storms, rainy weather, being in the rain, doves (if only everything was as simple and sweet), cheap good food, freedom, adventure, a good chat, kids (is patient with kids, cut them some slack).

Valentine dislikes: being criticized or scolded (pisses her off, she’s always doing her best and if she wasn’t she’ll be the first to admit it), codependent/clingy people (needs her freedom), feeling trapped, dry weather (hurts her eyes).

Abilities/Powers: Twisty is a superhuman or metahuman, a human with extraordinary powers. She can create, form, manipulate, and control tornados. Twisty is under the “blockbuster” category in Paragore, a human able to cause mass destruction. She is called in to work special cases that require big powers. She’s called in to stop tornadoes from going where they’re not wanted and to manipulate the weather, which she finds boring, but at least she’s helping people and saving the government a lot of money on disaster relief. Twisty would like to toe-to-toe with supervillains and get in on some of the “cool” and more glamorous jobs but, for now, that’s not happening. Twisty is a trained field agent, she has hand-to-hand combat training and other real-world applications for dealing with dangerous individuals. She has specialized training for Paragore’s Big Boom team, a group sent out to stop or cause destruction on a mass scale. As such, Twisty was never intended for close combat.
