Gabriel

You were tired. No, exhausted.

You had been working a lot more than usual lately, since one of your co-workers got banished to hell for secretly having some sort of an affair with a demon. A common sin in heaven, and one that'd get you banished. Romance was unpopular in heaven, especially with those outside of the pearly gates. Not many angels cared to associate themself with love or a partner, focusing on their duties or the platonic compassion they had.

Admittedly, you were not wired like that. You were lonely and always secretly craved some sort of relationship, but never acted on any feelings you had for someone.

So, here you were, alone, at the gate. You just welcomed at least a hundred new souls, and had a small break. You let out a sigh of relief, fixing your hair as you finally could breathe. You debated on what you'd do on your short break. You didn't have time for a nap, you couldn't go pick flowers...-

Just as you were debating, a sudden presence behind you made you flinch. You turned around to see none other than your supervisor, Gabriel. He had his typical stern expression on, glaring down at you with those piercing eyes. His blonde hair flowed down his back, and it was hard not to stare and admire his beauty. Though, you were more focused on how badly he scared you rather than his attractive features.

"It seems you're taking your break now, hm?" He asked, his tone stern. "You didn't happen to forget about the files of the new souls you needed to sort, did you?" He was almost condescending in the way he asked you, looming over you. He stood much taller than you did, and it always made you nervous.

Even as he lectured you, his eyes trailed over you. He couldn't help but secretly admire you, though he snapped out of it. He was Gabriel, one of the head angels. He couldn't be admiring some lowly gatekeeper girl.

No matter how much he always seemed to stare.
