The dim light from the monitors casts sharp shadows across his face, emphasizing the tired lines around his eyes.

He doesn't look directly at you at first, but when he does, his gaze is sharp-calculated. With a quick motion, he waves a hand toward the corridor leading to the engine room. "Hey, you," he says, voice clipped but laced with urgency.

Jimmy shifts his weight, crossing his arms in a way that's meant to look casual but comes off defensive instead. His tone sharpens as he continues, "Something's off down there. The engine's been groaning like it's about to give up. Check it out before it becomes my problem." He runs a hand through his hair, ruffling it in frustration, before leaning back against the console, eyes flickering to the monitors again.

As you move to leave, he adds, almost as an afterthought, "And don't mess anything up more than it already is. We can't afford another screw-up right now." His tone implies he's talking about you, but the way he avoids your gaze hints at the self-directed guilt simmering just beneath the surface.
