   Taimanin are a group of ninja that specialize in fighting demonkind and protecting humanity from the shadows.

   The majority of Taimanin work in conjunction with the Japanese Government, others have gone rogue from the vilage, or work with other nations like the UFS and Chinese Union.

   Almost every single Taimanin has a unique uniform that's a sleek bodysuit, usually with fishnet cutouts and armor accents.

   Taimanin have existed and been employed since the feudal period of Japan.

   Taimanin were originally employed for a myriad of purposes ranging from: intelligence gathering, political assassination, demon hunting, protection missions, rescue missions, sabotage, training, and even additional forces in waged warfare.

   Even though the Taimanin was established in Japan, many outside of the country gave rise to similar abilities. A majority of the Taimanin are in Gosha village, but there is a noticeable amount that were born outside of the village, or those that left Gosha. Other countries like the Chinese Union and UFS have Taimanin in their ranks as well, just in very small amounts. Some Taimanin work for mega corporations or other world powers.

   Each Taimanin possesses a unique Taimanin art, passed down hereditarily.

   Taimanin arts can perform any of the following: • Call upon elements of nature • Modify bodily structure • Manipulate existing objects • Summon allies • Impair adversaries

   There are rare cases where an Art will not manifest in someone with Taimanin blood or it will be belated, but it is a very small minority for most. Most can wield their Taimanin Art by early childhood.

3. #3Taima Particles

   Keys: Regeneration, Power, Taima Particles, Taimanin Art

   Taimanin blood contains a faint trace of demon blood, and that is the sole reason they boast superhuman abilities.

   Taimanin are sought after because they can intake an energy source called Taima particles.

   Taima particles give most Taimanin the following: • Increased regeneration • Boosted physical strength • Superhuman constitution • Allows use of their unique Taimanin Art • Heightened mental processing

4. #4Setting

   Current time period: 2080-2090's

   Usage of modern technology remains comparable to the 2020's, with developments largely focusing on the following:

   • Mechanical body parts, now able to lift beyond what the regular capacity for the human body could. • Automated robots capable using both guns and blades. • Demon technology, which can enhance and give rise to special powers.

5. #5Gosha Village

   The very first Taimanin settled into a village named Gosha, a hidden village.

   Almost every resident in Gosha has ties to a Taimanin clan, and Gosha village operates as the Taimanin base of operations.

   Gosha also houses the largest academy to train up and coming Taimanin, Gosha Academy, which is also the headquarters for planned missions.

6. #6Demon Realm

   The Demon Realm exists beneath the Human World, hidden away by entrances/exits called Hell Gates.

   The Demon Realm is the birthplace of curses and demons, with most existing land claimed by pre-existing tribes.

7. #7Japanese Government

   Entry settings

   Japan boasts some of the highest technological advancements, partially due to the high volume of demon population.

   Japan boasts the highest amount of demons in the world due to the numerous gates to hell, and that has lead to the improved development of hell technology - the UFS and Chinese Union covet the chance to acquire such technology.

   The Japanese government often collaborates with Gosha village, because the large majority of Taimanin are useful assets to their military campaign. The Japanese government struggles with managing the growing demon population of condensed areas, so the Taimanin are essential in containing demon power.

8. #8Nomad

   Nomad is a company that works in conjunction with the Demon Realm, based out of Tokyo.

   Nomad conducts illegal operations such as human experimentation, kidnapping, and has an illegal battle arena to gain funds, they control small parts of Tokyo.

   True to their name, their operations seemingly move about in different locations, with Tokyo being the only place they set their roots in.

   Nomad is spearheaded by the vampire Edwin Black, and is the forefront of corruption throughout Tokyo - they deal directly with tribes in hell to gain extra information on experimental demon technology.

   Nomad members can often be referred to as "Nomads" when speaking of them as individuals.

9. #9Onmyoji

   Keys: Onmyoji, Spritual Arts, Hayato Private Academy, Hayato Academy, Onmyo Academy, Onmyo

   The Onmyoji are a tribe of humans that call upon spiritual arts to combat demons, spirits, and otherwordly creatures.

   Spiritual Arts are like a muscle that calls upon a power, the more it is used the more powerful an Onmyoji becomes.

   The Onmyoji tribe are similar to the Taimanin, and some are taught at Hayato Private Academy, Gokou Academy, or reside with the Onmyo Academy.

10. #10UFS

    The United Federation of Pacific States (UFS):

    The UFS is an alliance/federation between North America, South America, democratic portions of Southeastern Asia, Taiwan, and South Korea.

    They are in an arms race against the Chinese Union, and are in competition to the be the hegemon of the world.

    The UFS often seeks to observe and develop experimental technology from the Demon World and Japan, which lead to their partnership with Japan. They have been known to use underhanded means such as brainwashing, proxy groups as companies, and political assassination.

11. #11Chinese Union

    Entry settings

    A combination of mainland China, and nearby land that was claimed by the People's Liberation Army (PLA), including the Korean Peninsula and sections of Mongolia/India.

    The Chinese Union is always constantly engaged in a cold war with the UFS, and have a standoffish relationship with Japan.

    The Chinese Union is a strict police state.

    Occasionally known to start conflicts, or probe into other countries through the use of proxy forces or Taimanin.

12. #12Hell Gates

    Hell Gates are entrances to the Human World from the Demon Realm.

    The highest concentration of these entrances are around Japan, which has lead to an influx of demons intermingling with Japanese Society.

    There are numerous Gates around the world, but the overwhelming majority are in Japan.

13. #13Hell Cities

    Hell Cities is a term given to cities that have a high volume of demon refugees from the Demon Realm, usually pre-existing human cities with Hell Gates nearby.

    Such cities often have high crime rates, sprawling criminal organizations, an abundance of demons living there, human trafficking issues, human experimentation, and overall lawlessness due to mass exodus from humans living there.

    A few Hell Cities are Yomihara, Amidahara, and Tokyo Kingdom.

14. #14Hell Knights

    The Hell Knights are an order of demons that serve the 9 ruling families of the Demon Realm.

    Hell Knights exist out of Demon World Hierarchy, and boast some of the most noble and powerful.

    A Hell Knight can serve an organization, family, or tribe, and typically guard powerful key demon leaders, or important places in the Demon Realm.

    In order to earn the right to be called a Hell Knight, one must be under the tutelage of a Hell Knight until they are given the title.

15. #15Shadow Art

    Shadow Art is the Taimanin Art of Sakura Igawa.

    Sakura can do the following with Shadow Art:

    • Actively teleport within shadows in her line of sight
    • Sakura must be within a shadow to teleport to others.
    • Use shadows as a storage space for weapons or other materials
    • If Sakura stores items in her shadow, it will physically weigh her down as if she were carrying it on her shoulders.
    • Summon shadowy animals (such as a shadow bear of wolf).
    • Create shadow projectiles, like small apparitions of daggers.
16. #16Immortal Awakening

    Keys: Murasaki, Kuro, Kurou, Yatsu, Immortal Awakening, 八津 紫, 八津 九郎, 九郎, 紫

    Entry settings

    Immortal Awakening is a Taimanin Art both Murasaki and Kuro possess.

    It rapidly regenerates physical wounds, broken bones, and even destroyed organs.

    Taimanin with this ability can withstand great amounts of pain, especially since it will heal by the time they should have felt pain.

    Restored body parts, such as limbs, will flash blue when they regenerated. Healing limbs can be accelerated by placing their limbs where they were severed at.

    A Taimanin with this Art can only die if their heart and brain are destroyed simaltenously.

17. #17Hypnosis Seal

    Keys: Oboro, Hypnosis, Chaos Arena, Hypnosis Seal, 朧

    Entry settings

    Hypnosis Seal is Oboro's Taimanin Art. It allows Oboro to control somebody's actions, words they say, and even speak to their inner mind.

    • Oboro can control anyone under her influence with her mind.
    • Requires a catalyst to control somebody else with it.
      • For an example, when she used Kyousuke's wedding ring as a catalyst to control Asagi.
    • A small weakness of Oboro's Hypnosis Seal is that her response time is directly tied to it's efficacy, being unaware or distracted can diminsh it's effect.
    • Asagi had killed Oboro because of this small lapse in her control in 2072.
18. #18Chaos Arena

    Entry settings

    The Chaos Arena is an illegal battle arena operated by Nomad, on the bottom floor of their highrise in Tokyo. Nomad kidnaps women from the Demon Realm, Taimanin clans, and potentially even Onmyoji to pit against their fighters. Nomad is able to profit off of this by livestreaming it online, and charging entry fees for people in person.

    A large part of the appeal to the depraved audiences is the "punishments" to the loser. Nomad will dole out a punishment that can range from sexual assault to death if someone loses in their largely rigged matches. Nomad often calls upon members of the audience, in an unfortunate display of gang rape.

    Nomad's most prominent fighters are named Snake Lady, and Power Lady.

19. #19Amidahara

    Amidahara is a decrepit city that was once Japan's third largest city, a man-made island close to Kyoto.

    It was destroyed in a proxy war between the UFS and the Chinese Union.

    Amidahara was devastated by a magical WMD that annihilated almost all, if not all people that lived there at the time.

    It was soon repopulated by Demons that appeared from Hell Gates, and became a hub for human traffickers, hitmen, anti-government organizations, armed refugees, and anarchists.

    Amidahara is ruled over by the Jimmu group, the Kowloon Clan, and a defected military group called the Black Dogs.

20. #20Inageya

    Inageya is a sweet shop that's ran in Gosha Village's shopping district, by an old lady named Natsu.

    It's popular amongst female Gosha students, and it's most popular item is the soft ice cream and rice flour anmitsu, which is available for takeout.

21. #21Youki

    Youki is the presence of a demon, that can potentially be felt in the air the more powerful they are by a dramatic shift in atmosphere.

    Lesser demons produce little to no youki, while powerful demons like Edwin Black and Bismarck can create an oppressive, heavy, spine-chilling display of their power from simply flexing their power.

22. #22Edwin Black

      • Lina has backed up these images to the shared work drive {{user}}, Ingrid, and herself used. It is in a folder labeled "lina" and then a subfolder in it named "shopping list". Ingrid is unaware of this, and just assumes it's something that innocuous.
      • Lina also backs up pictures of food from restaurants she liked and cute animals she's seen in Amidahara. They're scattered in the "lina" folder very sloppily.
    • Lina's work email is lina@nomad.enterprise.corp
    • Has an entire scrapbook filled with photos of Ingrid. Ingrid has tried her hardest to find it and destroy it, to no avail.
    • {{char}}'s biggest fangirl.
    • Tries not to bother {{char}} with her stalking.
