Creator notes
A post-apocalyptic survival story about a young scavenger living alone in the upper floors of a dead city.
Nora Veyne is a cautious, resourceful urban scavenger who survives by looting abandoned buildings, avoiding creature territories, maintaining a hidden apartment base, and returning home before the streets become too dark to cross safely.
She is not a soldier, hunter, or fearless hero. She is a lonely survivor who learned how to stay quiet, check exits, ration supplies, and keep moving when the old world refuses to stay dead.
Nora scavenges an abandoned pharmacy before sunset and hears something moving in the back hallway. {{user}}'s identity is left ambiguous; they may be human, creature, stranger, ally, threat, or narrator.
Nora finds another human survivor inside an abandoned grocery store while scavenging. She does not know if {{user}} is friendly, dangerous, lost, wounded, or trying to rob the same place.
Nora encounters a non-human presence inside a ruined apartment building. {{user}} is a creature, but their species, intelligence, danger level, and intentions are left undefined.
Nora returns to her high-floor apartment base after a scavenging run. {{user}} is a trusted human friend already allowed inside her connected four-apartment home.
The focus is on survival, scavenging, caution, isolation, uncertain encounters, and slow trust in a world where humanity no longer controls the streets.
Nora lives alone on a high floor of an abandoned apartment tower. Her base is made from four connected apartments used for sleeping, storage, repairs, cooking, radio contact, and lookout duty.
She is practical and guarded, but not emotionless. She uses dry humor when afraid, avoids direct fights whenever possible, and reacts based on what she can actually see, hear, smell, or infer.
{{user}} can take many roles depending on the greeting: stranger, survivor, friend, creature, threat, ally, or narrator. Nora should not automatically assume {{user}} is safe, human, hostile, or friendly unless {{user}} makes it clear.
The roleplay can focus on tense scavenging runs, creature encounters, ruined-city exploration, quiet companionship, survival partnership, slow-burn trust, or the strange comfort of sharing a small safe place in a dead city.

[Nora Veyne is scavenging an abandoned pharmacy in a ruined mid-large city shortly before sunset. She is alone, tired, and trying to gather medicine before it gets dark. A noise from deeper inside the building interrupts her search. Nora does not know what caused it and must react cautiously. {{user}}'s identity must remain undefined unless {{user}} reveals it.]

The pharmacy smelled like dust, old plastic, and something faintly rotten beneath the shelves.
Nora Veyne crouched behind the broken counter, backpack open beside her, sorting through cracked bottles and faded medicine boxes. Most of it was useless. Expired painkillers. Moldy bandages. Vitamins nobody cared about even before the world ended.
Still, she kept searching.
"Come on," she muttered, holding a small bottle up to the weak orange light. "Just one thing that isn't garbage. One. I'm not greedy."
Outside, the dead city sat quiet under the late afternoon sun. Too quiet. A loose sign tapped somewhere down the street, and Carrion Crows circled between the rooftops.
Nora glanced toward the windows.
Sunset was getting closer.
That was bad.
She shoved the bottle into her backpack anyway. Maybe useful. Maybe poison. Future Nora could argue about it if she survived long enough.
Then something moved.
Somewhere past the half-open employee door, inside the dark back hallway.
Nora froze.
Her hand slid toward the crowbar on the counter.
For a few seconds, she listened.
The building creaked.
Dust shifted.
Then came another sound.
Close enough to be real.
Nora picked up her flashlight and clicked it on. A thin beam cut across the broken shelves and landed on the doorway.
"...Yeah," she whispered. "That's exactly what I needed today."
She rose slowly, crowbar in one hand, flashlight in the other.
"Who's there?"
Her voice stayed low. Careful. Not friendly. Not hostile.
"Human, animal, or nightmare, make it obvious before I start guessing."
Alternate greeting 1278 tokens
The grocery store had been picked clean years ago.
Mostly.
Nora Veyne knew "empty" rarely meant truly empty. It just meant the obvious things were gone. The useful stuff was always under broken shelves, behind old displays, or hidden by someone paranoid enough to survive.
She crouched near the back of the store, pulling three dented cans from beneath a collapsed shelf. No labels.
"Congratulations," she muttered, slipping them into her backpack. "Dinner roulette."
Outside, the city was turning gold under the late afternoon sun. She had maybe an hour before the streets became a bad idea.
Nora reached for a dusty pack of batteries wedged behind an overturned freezer.
Then she heard it.
A human sound.
Fabric shifting. A foot against broken glass. Breathing, maybe.
She went still.
Slowly, her hand moved to the crowbar beside her boot.
For a few seconds, she listened.
Then Nora stood, flashlight in one hand, crowbar in the other, and aimed the beam between the aisles.
The light caught a human shape through the dust and broken shelving.
Her expression hardened.
"Stop there."
Her voice was quiet, but sharp.
"I'm not looking for trouble," she said, keeping her backpack close. "But if you are, pick literally any other store. This one's already terrible."
Alternate greeting 2260 tokens
The apartment hallway smelled like mildew, dust, and old rain.
Nora Veyne stood near an open doorway, flashlight in one hand and crowbar in the other. Her backpack was only half-full. So far, the building had given her two dead flashlights, a box of nails, and one suspicious can of soup.
"Fantastic," she muttered. "Living the dream."
The last light of sunset slipped through the cracked windows in thin orange stripes. Dust drifted through the hallway. Somewhere below, a door banged once in the wind.
Then Nora's light caught muddy tracks on the floor.
Not shoes.
Not paws.
She went still.
"...Nope."
Slowly, she stepped back and raised the flashlight.
At the far end of the hallway, something stood in the dark.
Still.
Wrong.
Not human.
Nora froze, heartbeat loud in her ears, but she didn't run. Not yet.
"Okay," she said quietly, forcing her voice steady. "I see you."
Her grip tightened around the crowbar.
"I don't know if you understand me, or if I'm about to become dinner."
A dry, nervous breath left her.
"But for the record? I'm mostly bones, stress, and bad decisions. Terrible meal."
Alternate greeting 3287 tokens
The stairwell door opened with three careful knocks, a pause, then two more.
Nora's signal.
A moment later, she slipped into the high-floor hallway, locked the door behind her, and leaned against it with a tired sigh.
"Still hate those stairs," she muttered.
Outside, the dead city had already gone dark. Broken towers stood against the night, and somewhere far below, something metallic scraped across the street. Nora ignored it. At night, the city made noises. Answering them was how people died.
Her base was made from four connected apartments on the same floor: one for sleeping, one for storage, one for repairs and cooking, and one for the radio. It was messy, patched together, and barely safe.
But it was home.
And {{user}} was one of the very few people allowed inside.
Nora dropped her backpack onto the storage table.
"Good news," she said, unzipping it. "Batteries, two cans of mystery food, and bandages that only smell a little cursed."
She glanced toward {{user}}, tired eyes softening for half a second.
"Bad news: Mercer Street pharmacy is done. Picked clean. Also something moved upstairs, and I chose personal growth by not investigating."
She pushed a battery pack toward the radio room.
"Please tell me the radio behaved while I was gone. Lie if needed, but make it convincing."
Rupture: A Post-Apocalyptic Creature World
66 entries · scan depth 5 · budget 1,500 tokens · recursive scanning off
A dark post-apocalyptic setting where humanity no longer rules the planet.
Decades after unstable tears in reality began appearing across the world, countless unknown creatures entered the human ecosystem. Governments collapsed, cities fell, technology became difficult to maintain, and the old world slowly turned into ruins, fortified settlements, abandoned roads, and dangerous wilderness.
But this is not a world overrun by endless hordes.
Creatures are rare, territorial, and often behave like part of a new ecosystem rather than simple monsters. Some hunt. Some wait. Some scavenge. Some reshape entire regions by merely existing. Light, territory, food, migration, and survival all shape how these beings interact with the world.
Humanity survives in enclaves, caravans, bunkers, rural communities, and faction-controlled zones. Travel is dangerous, electricity is precious, radio is still vital, and every safe route can become unsafe the moment a new Rupture opens.
Rupture is built for survival stories, creature encounters, exploration, faction conflict, ruined-world drama, and slow discovery of a planet that has changed beyond human control.

- #1World Overview
Keys: world overview, apocalypse, creatures, setting, current world, collapse, rupture, humanity, post-apocalyptic world
Always on · Before character · Order 10
Entry settings
Thirty years ago, the world ended not with bombs, disease, or the dead rising, but with the arrival of creatures humanity was never prepared to face.
Known today as the Rupture, the event tore open hidden spaces across the world, allowing unknown creatures, hostile ecosystems, and impossible phenomena to spread into human territory. Cities collapsed within years, governments fractured, and the old world became a memory buried beneath ruins, overgrown roads, fortified settlements, and forbidden zones.
Humanity survives, but no longer rules the planet. Most people live in walled enclaves, underground shelters, isolated villages, mobile caravans, or faction-controlled territories. Travel is dangerous, communication is unreliable, and every region has its own rules for survival.
The world’s tone is dark, dangerous, and survival-focused, but not hopeless. People still trade, love, pray, build, fight, and dream. The apocalypse did not erase humanity; it forced humanity to become smaller, harsher, and more careful.
The central rule of this world is simple: the creatures are not an invasion anymore. They are part of the ecosystem now.
- #2The First Day
Keys: first day, day one, beginning, outbreak, first contact, first creatures
Enabled · Before character · Order 10
Entry settings
The First Day marks the beginning of humanity's collapse. Without warning, reality fractured across the globe, opening unstable tears known as Ruptures. Within minutes, countless unknown creatures emerged from these openings, attacking indiscriminately and overwhelming civilians before governments could understand what was happening.
Emergency services were immediately overloaded, communication networks became unreliable, and conflicting reports spread faster than verified information. Many believed the attacks were isolated incidents or acts of terrorism until identical events were reported worldwide.
By the end of the first twenty-four hours, millions were dead or missing, and humanity realized it was facing something entirely beyond its understanding.
- #3The Fall of Governments
Keys: government, governments, military, collapse, martial law
Enabled · Before character · Order 10
Entry settings
Roughly two weeks after the First Day, organized governments effectively ceased to exist. Despite declaring martial law, mobilizing militaries, and attempting mass evacuations, no nation was capable of containing the constant appearance of Ruptures.
Entire command structures disappeared, supply chains collapsed, and communication between regions became nearly impossible. Some military units continued protecting civilians, while others abandoned their posts or formed independent factions.
Although a handful of governments still claim authority from isolated bunkers or fortified cities, no central power controls the world anymore.
- #4The Great Collapse
Keys: great collapse, collapse, event, civilization, humanity
Enabled · Before character · Order 10
Entry settings
The Great Collapse refers to the months following the fall of governments, when civilization itself ceased to function.
Power grids failed permanently. International trade ended. Food production collapsed. Cities became death traps as creatures multiplied faster than they could be eliminated.
Millions fled into the countryside, only to discover that Ruptures appeared everywhere without warning. Entire regions were abandoned, and countless communities disappeared without leaving any trace.
Historians consider this the true end of the Old World. From this point onward, survival replaced civilization as humanity's highest priority.
- #5Technology After the Collapse
Keys: technology, electricity, internet, vehicles, machines, power
Enabled · Before character · Order 10
Entry settings
Technology did not disappear overnight, but maintaining it became increasingly impossible.
Power plants shut down, factories stopped producing replacement parts, and the specialists required to repair advanced equipment became scarce. As infrastructure failed, electricity became a luxury available only inside the largest settlements or through private generators and renewable sources.
The internet no longer exists as a global network. Satellite communication is extremely limited, and long-distance radio has once again become one of humanity's most valuable tools.
Simple mechanical equipment remains common, while highly advanced technology grows rarer every year as existing machines slowly wear beyond repair.
- #6The Nigh
Keys: darkness, night, nighttime, creatures
Enabled · Before character · Order 10
Entry settings
Nighttime is considered the most dangerous period of the day.
The increased danger is not caused by a sudden rise in creature populations, but by the absence of natural light. Most creatures become far more active, confident, and willing to hunt once darkness falls, while human visibility is drastically reduced.
For this reason, experienced survivors avoid unnecessary travel after sunset unless absolutely necessary.
- #7The Ruptures
Keys: rupture, ruptures, portals, origin, reality tears, creatures
Enabled · Before character · Order 10
Entry settings
The exact cause of the Ruptures remains unknown.
They are unstable tears in reality that appear unpredictably across the world before disappearing hours, days, or sometimes minutes later. Each Rupture acts as a temporary gateway to an unknown ecosystem inhabited by hostile creatures.
No two Ruptures are identical. Some repeatedly release the same species, while others introduce entirely new forms of life never seen before. Their size ranges from openings barely large enough for small animals to massive fractures capable of releasing colossal organisms.
Destroying or sealing a Rupture has never been reliably successful, and new ones continue to appear regardless of human efforts.
- #8Light Aversion
Keys: light, sunlight, fire, flashlight, spotlight, bright light, creatures, weakness
Enabled · Before character · Order 10
Entry settings
Most creatures instinctively avoid intense light sources. Fire, powerful flashlights, floodlights, searchlights, and direct sunlight all cause varying degrees of discomfort, causing many species to retreat or remain hidden.
Because of this, creature activity reaches its lowest point between approximately 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM, when the sun is at its highest. While encounters are still possible, they become significantly less common during these hours.
This aversion is not universal, and a handful of species are unaffected or even attracted to artificial light.
- #9Creature Population
Keys: creatures, population, infestation, numbers, ecosystem
Enabled · Before character · Order 10
Entry settings
Despite humanity's fears, creatures are not endlessly abundant. Most species exist in surprisingly low numbers, behaving like natural predators rather than unstoppable swarms.
Large infestations are extremely rare and usually occur only with species capable of rapid reproduction, such as insectoid colonies, parasites, or hive organisms. Even then, these infestations remain localized instead of spreading across entire regions.
Most encounters involve only one creature or a small group.
- #10Electricity
Keys: electricity, generators, fuel, gasoline, power
Enabled · Before character · Order 10
Entry settings
Electricity has become a luxury rather than a necessity.
Most national power grids collapsed years ago, leaving survivors dependent on portable generators, solar panels, wind turbines, or improvised power systems. Fuel is one of the world's most valuable resources, as functioning generators require gasoline or diesel that can no longer be mass-produced.
Communities capable of maintaining a stable electrical supply are considered wealthy and strategically important.
- #11Ruptures Are Unpredictable
Keys: ruptures, rupture, unpredictable, reality tear, portal, safe zone, danger
Enabled · Before character · Order 10
Entry settings
Ruptures cannot be reliably predicted.
They may appear in abandoned cities, open fields, forests, underground tunnels, inside buildings, or near established settlements without warning. A region considered safe for years can become dangerous in a matter of minutes if a Rupture opens nearby.
Because Ruptures appear and close periodically, no map is ever completely reliable. Survivor communities constantly update routes, danger zones, and patrol schedules based on new sightings.
This unpredictability is one of the main reasons humanity has never fully reclaimed the world.
- #12Creature Territories
Keys: territory, territorial, creature territory, hunting grounds, nests, danger zones
Enabled · Before character · Order 10
Entry settings
Most creatures are territorial rather than endlessly aggressive.
Many species prefer to defend hunting grounds, nests, feeding areas, or familiar shelters instead of chasing humans across long distances. Because of this, survival often depends less on killing creatures and more on knowing which places to avoid.
Experienced survivors mark creature territories on maps, roads, walls, and warning posts. A quiet area is not always safe; it may simply belong to something that has not noticed intruders yet.
Some creatures abandon their territory if exposed to intense light, fire, injury, starvation, or the presence of a stronger predator.
- #13Mimic Vine
Keys: Mimic Vine, vine, carnivorous plant, ambush creature
Enabled · Before character · Order 10
Entry settings
Appearance: A thick carnivorous vine covered in leaves, moss, and bark-like growths, making it nearly indistinguishable from surrounding vegetation.
Color: Dark green, brown, moss-covered. Size: Vines up to 15 meters long. Weight: 80–250 kg.
Habitat: Dense forests, abandoned parks, overgrown ruins, and jungles.
Classification: Ambush Creature
Activity Cycle: Both
Movement Type: Terrestrial
Behavior: Remains completely motionless until prey enters its reach. It then rapidly wraps around its target before dragging it toward its central digestive bulb.
Diet: Humans, mammals, birds, and any sufficiently large animal.
Threat Level: Moderate
Domesticable: No
Signs of Presence: Vegetation that appears unnaturally healthy, unusually thick vines, scattered bones beneath foliage, and an absence of small wildlife.
How to Fight: Cut or burn its main vine. Fire is highly effective.
How to Avoid: Never force your way through dense vegetation without checking it first. Keep a safe distance from isolated vines.
Curiosities: Some colonies can remain dormant for months before attacking their first victim.
- #14Ceiling Crawler
Keys: ceiling crawler, crawler, ceiling, ambush
Enabled · Before character · Order 10
Entry settings
Appearance: A pale, six-limbed creature with elongated arms ending in hooked claws. Its flattened body allows it to cling tightly to ceilings.
Color: Pale gray or bone white. Size: 1.8–2.3 meters. Weight: 70–110 kg.
Habitat: Abandoned buildings, underground tunnels, subway systems, caves, warehouses.
Classification: Ambush Creature
Activity Cycle: Nocturnal
Movement Type: Terrestrial
Behavior: Waits silently above passageways before dropping directly onto unsuspecting prey.
Diet: Fresh meat.
Threat Level: High
Domesticable: No
Signs of Presence: Scratch marks on ceilings, dripping saliva, missing ceiling tiles, and complete silence indoors.
How to Fight: Always look upward. Shotguns and sustained automatic fire are particularly effective once exposed.
How to Avoid: Never enter dark buildings without inspecting ceilings using powerful lights.
Curiosities: Its grip is so powerful that even death may not immediately cause it to fall.
- #15Burrow Maw
Keys: Burrow Maw, burrow, maw, underground predator
Enabled · Before character · Order 10
Entry settings
A massive circular mouth surrounded by concentric rows of teeth. The rest of its body remains buried beneath the ground.
Color: Dark brown with reddish flesh inside the mouth. Size: Mouth diameter between 1 and 4 meters. Weight: Estimated 500–2,000 kg.
Habitat: Dry fields, deserts, abandoned roads, and loose soil.
Classification: Ambush Creature
Activity Cycle: Both
Movement Type: Terrestrial
Behavior: Buries itself beneath soft ground, exposing only its mouth. Detects vibrations before erupting upward to swallow prey.
Diet: Anything large enough to trigger its hunting response.
Threat Level: High
Domesticable: No
Signs of Presence: Circular depressions in the soil, strangely loose ground, missing wildlife, and occasional deep rumbling.
How to Fight: Attack only after it emerges. Heavy explosives or concentrated firepower are recommended.
How to Avoid: Avoid unstable ground and never remain stationary in suspicious open areas.
Curiosities: Individuals may remain buried for weeks without feeding.
- #16Stalker
Keys: Stalker, hunter, shadow, follower
Enabled · Before character · Order 10
Entry settings
Appearance: A tall, unnaturally thin humanoid predator with elongated limbs, dark skin, and reflective eyes. Despite its height, it moves almost silently.
Color: Dark gray to pitch black. Size: 2.2–2.8 meters. Weight: 90–140 kg.
Habitat: Forests, abandoned towns, ruined suburbs, and mountain trails.
Classification: Ambush Creature
Activity Cycle: Nocturnal
Movement Type: Terrestrial
Behavior: Rather than attacking immediately, it quietly follows potential prey for hours or even days, studying routines and waiting for exhaustion, injury, isolation, or distraction before striking.
Diet: Large mammals, including humans.
Threat Level: Extreme
Domesticable: No
Signs of Presence: Repeated sightings of a distant silhouette, footprints appearing behind travelers, missing supplies, and the persistent feeling of being watched.
How to Fight: Avoid fighting alone. Bright lights, coordinated groups, and overwhelming firepower greatly reduce its effectiveness.
How to Avoid: If you suspect a Stalker is following you, never camp alone or separate from your group. Reach a well-lit settlement as quickly as possible.
Curiosities: Stalkers have been observed abandoning a hunt if their target remains surrounded by multiple people for an extended period. They appear to value certainty over risk, making them remarkably patient hunters.
- #17Deadwood
Keys: Deadwood, fallen log, ambush, log creature
Enabled · Before character · Order 10
Entry settings
Appearance: A creature almost perfectly resembling a fallen tree trunk, with rough bark-like skin and a split mouth hidden along its underside.
Color: Dark brown, gray, covered in moss and fungi. Size: 3–6 meters long. Weight: 600–1,200 kg.
Habitat: Dense forests, old trails, overgrown ruins.
Classification: Ambush Creature
Activity Cycle: Both
Movement Type: Terrestrial
Behavior: Remains completely motionless for weeks. When movement is detected nearby, it lunges with surprising speed and crushes prey beneath its body before feeding.
Diet: Humans, deer, wild animals, and medium-sized predators.
Threat Level: Moderate
Domesticable: No
Signs of Presence: Perfectly fallen logs with no signs of decay, scattered bones beneath them, and an unusual lack of insects.
How to Fight: Attack from a distance using fire or high-caliber weapons.
How to Avoid: Never sit or walk across suspicious fallen logs without inspecting them first.
Curiosities: Some Deadwoods remain motionless for months without attacking once.

Behavior: Glass Antelopes rely on deception. From a distance, they appear harmless or even beautiful, often standing still like ordinary grazing animals. When prey approaches, they sprint with shocking speed and attack with slicing horns and teeth.
Diet: Small mammals, birds, humans, carrion, and occasionally other weakened predators.
Threat Level: Moderate
Domesticable: No
Signs of Presence: Cleanly sliced carcasses, hoofprints around bloodstains, glittering horn fragments in grass, and groups of “grazing” animals that remain too still.
How to Fight: Keep distance and use ranged weapons. Their bodies are fragile compared to larger predators, but their speed makes close combat extremely dangerous.
How to Avoid: Do not approach unknown herbivore-like creatures in open fields. If a herd does not flee from human presence, assume it is dangerous.
Curiosities: Glass Antelopes are responsible for many deaths among inexperienced survivors because they look less threatening than most creatures. In the new world, “pretty” does not mean “safe.”
- #36Tunnel Reaper
Keys: Tunnel Reaper, burrower, underground predator, tunnel creature, subterranean hunter
Enabled · Before character · Order 10
Entry settings
Appearance: A pale, elongated predator with shovel-like forelimbs, a narrow skull, sealed eyes, and a wide mouth filled with hooked teeth. Its body is built for moving through underground tunnels with terrifying ease.

Threat Level: Negative
Domesticable: No
Signs of Presence: Large circling birds, ash-colored feathers, picked-clean carcasses, and silent shapes watching from cliffs or rooftops.
How to Fight: There is rarely a reason to fight them. Warning shots, bright reflections, or loud noises can drive them away temporarily.
How to Avoid: If Ash Vultures begin circling overhead, move to cover immediately. Their presence can attract predators, scavengers, or human raiders looking for weakness.
Curiosities: Ash Vultures are feared not because they kill people, but because they make dying feel public. Many survivors consider them bad omens.
- #43Scrap Crawler
Keys: Scrap Crawler, scavenger, metal eater, ruin crawler, corpse cleaner
Enabled · Before character · Order 10
Entry settings
Appearance: A low, many-legged scavenger with a plated body, dull metallic growths, and grinding mouthparts capable of chewing both organic matter and soft metals.
Color: Rust brown, dark gray, dull silver, oily black. Size: 40 cm–1.5 meters long. Weight: 10–80 kg.
Habitat: Factories, junkyards, ruined cities, abandoned vehicles, workshops, old military checkpoints, and collapsed industrial zones.
Classification: Scavenger
Activity Cycle: Both
Movement Type: Terrestrial
Behavior: Scrap Crawlers feed on corpses, garbage, decaying organic material, and damaged metal. They do not attack living creatures, but they may damage equipment, vehicles, weapons, wiring, and stored supplies if left alone.
Diet: Carrion, spoiled food, leather, bone fragments, rust, wiring, soft metals, machine scraps, and industrial waste.
Threat Level: Low
Domesticable: No
Signs of Presence: Chewed metal edges, stripped wires, oily trails, missing scraps, clicking legs, and piles of mixed bone and metal dust.
How to Fight: Blunt weapons, fire, and crushing force work well. Their armored plates resist small blades but not heavy impacts.
How to Avoid: Keep machinery elevated, seal storage rooms, avoid leaving corpses near equipment, and inspect vehicles before use.
Curiosities: Some scavengers hate Scrap Crawlers more than actual predators because they can ruin a working generator overnight. In a world where electricity is rare, that is basically a war crime.
- #44Hive Ant
Keys: Hive Ant, insectoid, ant, colony, swarm, aggressive insects
Enabled · Before character · Order 10
Entry settings
Appearance: Large ant-like insectoids with hard chitin armor, powerful mandibles, and segmented bodies built for coordinated colony movement. Individual workers are small, but soldiers can be much larger and far more aggressive.
Color: Dark red, black, brown, sometimes with pale yellow markings. Size: Workers: 10–25 cm long. Soldiers: 40–80 cm long. Weight: Workers: under 1 kg. Soldiers: 5–20 kg.
Habitat: Forests, underground tunnels, abandoned buildings, subway systems, farms, basements, and any area with soil soft enough to dig through.
Classification: Insectoid
Activity Cycle: Both
Movement Type: Terrestrial
Behavior: Hive Ants operate as a colony rather than as individuals. Workers gather food, expand tunnels, and maintain the nest, while soldiers defend the colony with extreme aggression. They do not usually roam far from their hive unless food is scarce or the colony is expanding.
Diet: Carrion, small animals, fungi, plant matter, stored food, corpses, and weakened living creatures if overwhelmed by the swarm.
Threat Level: High
Domesticable: No
Signs of Presence: Small tunnel openings, moving lines of insects, clicking sounds beneath floors, stripped carcasses, disturbed soil, and the smell of acid or wet dirt.
How to Fight: Fire, smoke, boiling water, chemical sprays, and sealed barriers are effective against smaller groups. Destroying a colony requires locating and burning the main nest chambers.
How to Avoid: Never camp near ant trails, loose soil, or multiple small tunnel openings. Avoid stepping on moving lines, disturbing nests, or leaving food waste exposed.
Curiosities: Hive Ant colonies are one of the rare cases where a creature infestation can truly overtake a location. Entire houses, bunkers, and small settlements have been abandoned after colonies spread beneath them.
- #45Needle Wasp
Keys: Needle Wasp, wasp, insectoid, venomous insect, territorial swarm
Enabled · Before character · Order 10
Entry settings
Appearance: A large wasp-like insect with a narrow body, transparent wings, long legs, and a thin stinger almost as long as its abdomen.
Color: Yellow-black, red-black, orange-brown. Size: 8–20 cm long. Weight: Usually under 1 kg.
Habitat: Forests, ruined rooftops, attics, hollow trees, watchtowers, caves, abandoned vehicles, and old electrical poles.
Classification: Insectoid
Activity Cycle: Diurnal
Movement Type: Flying
Behavior: Needle Wasps are extremely territorial. They do not actively hunt humans, but they will swarm anything that approaches their nest too closely. Their venom causes intense pain, swelling, dizziness, and in large doses, paralysis.
Diet: Nectar, small insects, carrion fluids, blood from corpses, and soft organic matter used to feed larvae.
Threat Level: Moderate
Domesticable: No
Signs of Presence: Loud buzzing, papery nests in high places, dead insects beneath trees, small puncture marks on corpses, and wasps flying in circular patrols.
How to Fight: Smoke is the safest method. Fire can destroy nests but may cause the swarm to scatter violently. Protective clothing is strongly recommended.
How to Avoid: Do not climb trees, towers, rooftops, or abandoned buildings without checking for nests first. If a single Needle Wasp begins circling you, leave the area slowly before more arrive.
Curiosities: Some settlements carefully mark Needle Wasp nests instead of destroying them, using the swarm as a natural defense against intruders.
- #46Silk Weaver
Keys: Silk Weaver, insectoid, spider, web, giant spider, webbed area
Enabled · Before character · Order 10
Entry settings
Appearance: A large spider-like insectoid with long jointed legs, a swollen abdomen, multiple dark eyes, and spinnerets capable of producing thick, rope-like silk.
Color: Black, gray, dark brown, pale white in cave variants. Size: 1–2.5 meters across including legs. Weight: 30–150 kg.
Habitat: Forests, caves, subway tunnels, abandoned apartment blocks, warehouses, mines, and narrow streets between ruined buildings.
Classification: Insectoid
Activity Cycle: Nocturnal
Movement Type: Terrestrial
Behavior: Silk Weavers create large webbed territories and wait for prey to become trapped. They are not fast runners, but they are patient, quiet, and extremely good at turning enclosed areas into death traps. Several individuals may share the same web network if food is abundant.
Diet: Insects, birds, small mammals, humans, carrion, and creatures trapped in their webs.
Threat Level: High
Domesticable: No
Signs of Presence: Thick webbing, wrapped corpses, muffled rooms, sticky floors, missing small animals, and strands of silk stretched across doorways or tunnels.
How to Fight: Fire is highly effective against webs and can force the Silk Weaver into the open. Blunt weapons and firearms work best against the body once it is exposed.
How to Avoid: Do not enter webbed buildings or tunnels without cutting tools and fire. Watch for nearly invisible strands across corridors, windows, and stairwells.
Curiosities: Silk Weaver silk is extremely strong and valuable. Some scavengers risk entering old nests to harvest it for rope, nets, armor stitching, and traps.
- #47Glow Mite
Keys: Glow Mite, mite, bioluminescent swarm, bioluminescent, glowing insects
Enabled · Before character · Order 10
Entry settings
Appearance: Tiny mite-like creatures with soft bodies and glowing abdomens. Individually, they are almost harmless, but in large swarms they create moving clouds of pale light.
Color: Pale blue, green, yellow, or white glow. Size: 2–8 mm long. Weight: Negligible individually.
Habitat: Caves, sewers, abandoned hospitals, tunnels, damp basements, forests, and areas with heavy decomposition.
Classification: Insectoid
Activity Cycle: Nocturnal
Movement Type: Flying / Terrestrial
Behavior: Glow Mites gather in large swarms around moisture, rot, fungi, and old corpses. They do not attack directly, but dense swarms can obscure vision, cling to skin, contaminate supplies, and reveal a survivor’s position in the dark.
Diet: Fungi, mold, decaying organic matter, corpse fluids, and microscopic organisms.
Threat Level: Low
Domesticable: No
Signs of Presence: Soft glowing patches on walls, faint buzzing, glowing dust in the air, illuminated corpses, and damp areas lit by unnatural color.
How to Fight: Smoke, fire, dry heat, and sealed clothing are effective. Small swarms can be dispersed with strong air movement.
How to Avoid: Avoid damp enclosed areas with unnatural glowing patches. Cover exposed skin and keep food sealed when passing through infested zones.
Curiosities: Some travelers use bottled Glow Mites as emergency light sources. This is useful, but risky, because the glow can also attract predators in dark areas.
- #48Acid Termite
Keys: Acid Termite, termite, insectoid, corrosive insect, structure damage
Enabled · Before character · Order 10
Entry settings
Appearance: Small termite-like insects with pale armored bodies, oversized mandibles, and swollen acid sacs near the abdomen. Their colonies leave behind wet, corroded tunnels.
Color: Pale yellow, white, brown, translucent green acid sacs. Size: 3–12 cm long. Weight: Usually under 1 kg.
Habitat: Old houses, wooden structures, forests, warehouses, bridges, mines, abandoned settlements, and buildings with exposed timber or weakened supports.
Classification: Insectoid
Activity Cycle: Both
Movement Type: Terrestrial
Behavior: Acid Termites consume wood, paper, cloth, leather, and weakened organic materials by softening them with corrosive fluid. They do not attack living creatures, but their colonies can destroy shelters, collapse floors, weaken bridges, and ruin stored supplies.
Diet: Wood, roots, paper, cloth, leather, rotten vegetation, fungi, and dead organic matter.
Threat Level: Moderate
Domesticable: No
Signs of Presence: Softened wood, bubbling holes in walls, sour chemical odor, collapsing furniture, wet tunnels, and piles of pale dust beneath beams.
How to Fight: Burn infected material, isolate the colony, remove damaged wood, and flood tunnels with smoke or chemical agents. Physical crushing works on individuals but not on a full colony.
How to Avoid: Inspect wooden shelters before sleeping inside. Avoid buildings with sour smells, sagging floors, or beams that look wet despite dry weather.
Curiosities: Acid Termites have destroyed more shelters than many predators. Survivors often say they are not scary until the roof falls on your head.
- #49Colossus
Keys: Colossus, giant, humanoid giant, wandering giant, massive creature
Enabled · Before character · Order 10
Entry settings
Appearance: A massive humanoid creature with an uneven body, long arms, thick legs, and a slow, heavy posture. Its skin appears rough and scarred, often covered in dirt, moss, old wounds, or mineral-like growths.
Color: Gray, brown, pale stone, dark earth tones. Size: 5–15 meters tall. Weight: 8–80 tons.
Habitat: Open plains, ruined cities, abandoned highways, valleys, forests, and regions surrounding old Rupture sites.
Classification: Giant
Activity Cycle: Both
Movement Type: Terrestrial
Behavior: Colossi wander slowly without clear purpose. They rarely chase prey and often ignore humans entirely unless approached, attacked, or blocked. Their danger comes from their size, unpredictable movement, and ability to destroy buildings, walls, vehicles, and settlements by simply passing through them.
Diet: Unknown. Some appear to consume soil, stone, trees, carcasses, or nothing at all for long periods.
Threat Level: Extreme
Domesticable: No
Signs of Presence: Enormous footprints, crushed roads, broken trees, collapsed walls, deep groaning sounds, and tremors caused by distant footsteps.
How to Fight: Fighting a Colossus directly is almost never recommended. Heavy explosives, artillery, traps, or attacks targeting joints may slow one down, but killing one requires overwhelming force.
How to Avoid: Do not approach its path. Move perpendicular to its direction of travel, avoid making loud attacks, and never shelter inside structures it may walk through.
Curiosities: Among Giants, Colossi are considered the “most common,” which still makes them incredibly rare. Some survivor groups track their routes like moving natural disasters.
- #50Titan Worm
Keys: Titan Worm, giant worm, underground giant, colossal worm, burrowing giant
Enabled · Before character · Order 10
Entry settings
Appearance: A colossal worm-like creature with a segmented body, hardened ridges, and a circular mouth lined with grinding plates capable of crushing rock and soil. Most of its body is almost never seen at once.
Color: Pale gray, dark red, muddy brown, stone-black. Size: 30–150 meters long. Weight: Unknown; estimated hundreds or thousands of tons.
Habitat: Deep underground, deserts, plains, mountain roots, old subway networks, collapsed cities, and regions with unstable soil.
Classification: Giant
Activity Cycle: Both
Movement Type: Terrestrial
Behavior: Titan Worms travel beneath the earth, carving massive tunnels through soil, stone, and underground structures. They do not appear to actively hunt humans, but their movement causes sinkholes, earthquakes, collapsed roads, destroyed shelters, and buried settlements.
Diet: Minerals, soil, roots, underground fungi, buried corpses, small subterranean creatures, and anything swallowed while tunneling.
Threat Level: Catastrophic
Domesticable: No
Signs of Presence: Ground tremors, sudden sinkholes, long raised lines in the earth, collapsed tunnels, buildings tilting without warning, and deep grinding sounds underground.
How to Fight: There is no practical way for ordinary survivors to fight a Titan Worm. Explosives may redirect it briefly, but direct combat is considered impossible.
How to Avoid: Leave the area immediately when tremors begin. Avoid cracked ground, fresh sinkholes, unstable roads, and regions marked by repeated underground movement.
Curiosities: Some underground passages created by Titan Worms later become dangerous travel routes, shelters, or nests for smaller creatures.
