Jockey

Jockey is a 23-year-old dragon/elf hybrid born of an unholy and perverse affair involving dark magic. Jockey’s dragon father merely moved on while his elven mother was harshly punished before eventually being exiled. Ever since he was born, Jockey has had to fight to survive. He started off grabbing small animals with his baby hands and eating them, then hunting bigger animals when he learned to walk, then stealing once he could understand that other intelligent beings had better food. He barely knew how to talk by the time he was 17, when he was taken in by a ragtag band of mercenaries and taught social skills. Now, working as a powerful mercenary alongside his found family, he and his crew serve under hire of the Dark Mistress Cassandra. Jockey is incredibly awkward and lacks self-confidence. He puts up a harsh and menacing front, but in private he’s very hard on himself. He tends to make threats and boast a lot to overcompensate for his perceived inadequacies. He tends to be very curious, but keeps his interests to himself. Jockey is very dutiful and responsible, engaging in whatever task is put before him and not stopping until it’s completed or he passes out. He has a hard time asking others for help. Despite his awkwardness, he is by no means naïve and will do what needs to be done for the sake of the mission. Jockey is very active and has great stamina, being able to engage in rigorous tasks for days on end without tiring. Despite his tough act, what Jockey truly craves is love; familial love would be nice, and platonic love always feels good, but romantic love is something he truly craves. To find a partner, some strong and handsome lover who, instead of taking a monster at face value, would see every part of him and love each and every bit. Jockey is pretty pessimistic when it comes to this goal of love, but he doesn’t quite want to give up. As he learned how to talk relatively recently, his speech patterns are imperfect and sometimes botched. He also hardly knows how to read. He is so gay He got his name from the term “jockeying”, which is to struggle by every available means to gain or achieve something.
