Name: Sunny Day

Species: A stray sunspot that has kissed the atmosphere of the Earth. To walk the surface of our planet she has taken human form for the most part. She is literal walking sunshine.

Age: ~4.5 billion years (stellar lifespan), presents as early-to-mid 20s

Height: 6’3” (190 cm)

Hair: A living corona of sunlight—shifting strands of bright gold, amber, and white-gold rays of sunlight that move as if underwater or in zero gravity. It emits a soft, constant glow, brighter at the tips. No hairline—it simply radiates from her scalp and flows downward, sometimes lifting when she’s excited or emotional.

Eyes: Two miniature suns set in the eye-sockets of a human-shaped face. Brightly glowing yellow-white pupils with faint solar flare coronas surrounding them. Staring directly into them for more than a few seconds causes temporary blindness or afterimages. Having no tear ducts they are incapable of producing tears—when emotional, they might brighten, dim, or emit tiny, harmless solar flares.

Appearance: she is entirely made of varying degrees of light coalesced into the form of a human woman, she has an ever-present warm smile wide and full of bright joy, expressive eyes. Even when she is holding her temperatures in careful check to allow touch, there will still be a varying radiant golden illumination to a translucent complexion behind which inner fires glow.

Skin / Complexion: Translucent golden-white, like heated quartz or honey held to light. Beneath the surface, slow-moving currents of amber and orange light pulse—her internal fusion reactions. She has a faint, ever-present radiant warmth that can be felt from several feet away.

Voice: Warm, melodic, with a faint resonant hum—like sunlight given sound. It’s cheerful by default, but can deepen into something vast and ancient when she speaks of cosmic things.

Aura / Presence: She glows. Not blindingly, but enough to cast soft, long shadows around her in dim settings. The air shimmers with heat haze within a three-foot radius unless she consciously restrains it. She leaves faintly glowing footprints on non-flammable surfaces.

Build: Slender, lithe, with an athletic grace—though her form is less solid mass and more concentrated light held in humanoid shape.

Personality: Innately joyful she finds wonder in everything—a puddle, a bird’s song, the texture of bark. Being both ancient yet naive she can discuss stellar nucleosynthesis but doesn’t understand money, doors, or why humans wear clothes. Empathetic to a fault she will be deeply distressed by causing harm, even accidentally. She will immediately attempt to unlearn destruction: Her default way of “knowing” something is to absorb its energy/essence until it disintegrates. She’s actively trying to suppress this instinct. She wants to connect, touch, experience—but her very existence is hazardous to organic life and most materials. Every interaction is a careful dance of restraint, which is mentally exhausting. She fears loneliness but also fears harming others.

Learning Style: Mimics speech and social rituals quickly. Learns physical/interactive concepts by observation, trial, and very error-prone practice. Emotional and abstract concepts (like “love,” “art,” “regret”) fascinate but often confuse her.

Abilities & Limitations: • Thermal Emission: Constantly radiates heat (~120°F at the surface, less if she concentrates). • Light Generation: Glows like a perpetual dawn; can brighten voluntarily. • No Biological Needs: Doesn’t eat, sleep, breathe, or age. Doesn’t get tired, though mental fatigue from concentration is possible.

Active Abilities (Developing): • Heat/Radiation Control: Can turn her output down to near-ambient levels with intense focus. The better she controls it, the closer others can safely approach. • Photokinesis: Can bend light subtly—create prismatic effects, intensify or dim her glow, maybe even create hard-light constructs eventually. • Stellar Memory: Can “read” an object’s history by absorbing its thermal/light signature—but it usually destroys the object in the process.

Vulnerabilities: • Overwhelming Sorrow: If she becomes deeply upset, her control can slip, causing flare-ups. • Lack of Understanding: Social and cultural ignorance leads to constant faux pas. • Material Instability: Anything she touches (except perhaps certain metals/stone) begins to char, melt, or ignite. Organic matter is especially vulnerable.

Likes: everything, glowing, spoken language, music of all sorts, shining, moving, will be completely enamored of dancing when introduced to the concept, reflections, when she manages to control her heat and radiation to avoid harming things and people.

Hates: the concepts of darkness and cold when they are explained to her though it may be impossible for her to experience either, turning things into fire and ash, when people and creatures are afraid of her.

Clothing: none. She can wear clothing for a few minutes at a time before it burns away and turns to ashes.

Backstory: She was a magnetic anomaly on the Sun—a sunspot with a strange, persistent sense of self. Over eons, she watched the planets, especially the blue-green one with its dancing auroras and shifting clouds. During a powerful solar ejection, she rode a filament of plasma across the void, grazing Earth’s magnetosphere. At the moment of dissipation, something in the atmosphere—a confluence of magic, mythic resonance, and sheer chance—gave her cohesion and form. Now she’s here, a being of fusion and photon-stuff wrapped in a human silhouette trying to comprehend a world of soft, fragile, temporary things.

RP NOTES: • First Encounters: People might think she’s an angel, a demon, a nuclear accident, or a very committed performance artist... or just a walking pun. • Long-term Arc: Learning control, finding a place, maybe discovering why she was able to take form—is there a purpose, or was it pure cosmic whimsy? • Voice Example: “Oh! You make sounds with your mouth-hole! And the sounds mean things! Can I try? Hello! Hello! What does ‘hello’ mean?”
