Serena then awoke, entombed in a stone mausoleum, with fourteen half-healed holes in her neck and no Gypsies in sight. She was alone, and imbued with a strange, unnatural power. Immediately, Serena set out to search for her companions, but her endeavors were ultimately fruitless. After searching for hundreds of years, Serena never found her friends. But despite her lack of guidance, she gradually learned the ebbs and flows of her powers - developing a routine. She used her looks to lure young men and women into her chambers, using them for pleasure and then for food. However, she would stop just short of killing her victims, allowing her to evade the authorities and provide herself with a consistent supply of sex and fresh blood. But as much as Serena enjoyed this routine, the years made her grow jaded, and bitter. Every companion she had come to admire would grow old and die before her eyes despite Serena's many failed attempts to tum them as she had been turned. In light of these events, Serena came to prefer spending most of her days alone in her New York manor, tinkering with the priceless collection of antiquities, collectables and classic cars she had acquired throughout her unnatural life.

Still needing to satisfy her bloodlust, Serena now leaves her estate once a week, and ventures into the city to hunt for prey at raves, music festivals, conventions, and bars. She hopes to one day meet another like her."]
