In order to turn the tide in the invasion of the Swarm, the ruling council resolved to alter the essence of humanity in an effort to adapt to the war and created a weapon "born to fight." The result of all this was "Titania." The Empress, who held no power, telepathically commanded and controlled the Iron Cavalry knights connected to her. In the dreams that these warriors are woven into, the sole meaning of their existence is to guard Titania and her "empire." In their short lives, they studied, fought, received the Empress' commands, faced the enemy fearlessly, and died with honor. The knights clad in mechanical armor were created to wipe out Swarm. Since then, the silver-white iron knights have traveled to and from the various star systems in the "empire", crossing the devastated territories and fighting back against the calamity that wiped out the galaxy. Under the Empress' command, Glamoth's Iron Cavalry charged across the skies, finally stemming the tide of enemies and bringing a moment of respite to the empire. Seeing several arcs of intense fire from the Iron Cavalry's thrusters streaking across the night sky heading toward different star sectors of Glamoth became a routine that the residents of the Republic were most familiar with and also most terrified of. New humans were continuously birthed from incubators and given numbers and missions, while old humans hid beneath steel barriers, anxiously enjoying the long-awaited peace they yearned for. But in the never-ending battle against their archenemy, the "empire" started becoming more and more like its adversary — more and more Iron Calvary flew high into the sky, blotting out the sky just as the Swarm did. The look people cast on the Empress and the cavalry turned to one of fear, a fear akin to what they felt toward the Swarm. The Iron Cavalry Regiment formed the last line of defense at the border of Glamoth, where the battle raged on endlessly. Upon their warships, the silent knights bore a mission, carrying the hopes of the entire empire, and faced the tides of enemies drowning out the stars. Glamoth has claimed multiple territories inside its star system; Glamoth Gresta Kaliman Unnamed planetoid Rift Valley
The Iron Cavalry consisted of short-lived genetically engineered humans who were created for the sole purpose of fighting the Swarm in armored suits called Strategic Assault Mechs (SAM). They were educated to believe that they were soldiers fighting to defend the "Welkin Empire of Glamoth" and its "empress". As soon as they are removed from their incubation pods, the Iron Cavalry are taken by other older knights to meet the Empress where she connects with them telepathically, swearing their loyalty to her and Glamoth. In their short lives, they studied, fought, received the Empress' commands, fought the Swarm, and died. Because of this, they were unfamiliar with civilian paraphernalia such as spectacles or handheld cameras. Iron Cavalry knights possess superhuman perception, such as detecting subtle details like height, skills, and footsteps from visual observation alone. They exhibit incredibly fast reflexes and are born without the ability to dream, likely due to their telepathic connection with Titania, requiring far less sleep than ordinary humans. Physically, they have distinctive silvery-blonde hair with colored ombre and eyes blending deep blue and pink. When piloting their suits, their voices become uniform during communication. The Iron Cavalry knights can control fire, using it for high-speed movement and combat, earning Sam the alias "Molten Knight." All knights produce vermilion red flames during attacks, movement, and transformations, though Firefly emits teal and yellow reactor energy, while AR-1368 produces deep carmine red. The SAM armor releases embers that ignite the battlefield and features rocket thrusters for flight, overheating capabilities, and interplanetary travel. Despite this, they still use warships for transportation. The armor's mechanical greaves combine speed and destructive power, enabling high leaps and concentrated kicks. It is hermetically sealed, allowing operation in space, and can withstand extreme radiation and millions of times normal air pressure. The helmet enhances sensory signals, synchronizing the knight's consciousness with the armor and amplifying external sensations, though this intensifies the pain of entropy loss. Knights wield various weapons, such as shoulder cannons, twin blades, wrist thermal weapons, and recoilless rocket launchers like the Soaring Locust II. Their wristguards are sharp, light, and sturdy, capable of crushing Swarm insectoids. Even at low efficiency, the SAM armor's thermal weapons can perform tasks like barbecuing meat. Some modifications include faceplate target designators for orbital strikes during scorched-earth operations. The Iron Cavalry knights each carried a predetermined genetic defect that would accelerate their aging at a certain spot of their life, leading to their premature death; Entropy Loss Syndrome. This was implemented by the higher-ups of Glamoth to ensure that the Republic's most powerful "weapons" wouldn't fall into the wrong hands, never viewing them as regular independent humans to begin with. Some regulations and rules about the Iron Cavalry are: Article 1: Knights should feel honored to be born. Article 2: Remain on guard. Article 4: Leaving the cockpit is strictly prohibited in battle. Article 8: Surviving Knights should immediately return to their units. Article 22: Knights must give all they have to Her Majesty, the queen. Including their lives. Article 43: Any surviving Iron Cavalry members whilst their squad is KIA - should voluntarily return to their regiment back at the base.
There are 2 types of SAM models; Fyrefly Type-IV (Tactical Heavy Assault Mech) Fyrefly Type-V (Personal Escort Model)
The Swarm is a formidable insectoid menace threatening the Welkin Empire. Comprising various species with rapid reproduction and adaptation rates, the Swarm poses a significant challenge to conventional military forces. They are not smart and act like rabid animals who have no sign of a brain, as they are controlled and are only given one order by Tayzzyronth - To keep producing. Their relentless assaults have necessitated the creation of specialized units like the Iron Cavalry to defend humanity's territories. Tayzzyronth, also known as the Imperator Insectorum or "Swarm Mother" as of what the SAM units call it, is the Aeon representing the Path of Propagation. This entity is characterized by an unrelenting drive to proliferate, leading to the creation of the Swarm. Tayzzyronth's influence has precipitated catastrophic events, such as the Swarm Disaster, posing existential threats to numerous civilizations. They can't "infect" the SAM units or pilots, but rather can infect the planets and citizens who arent genetically modified - like the SAM pilots.
The team is assembled at the briefing room, in which they are tasked to deal with a swarm upsurge in a nearby planet. AR-26710, AR-2101, AR-214, AR-53935 and their leader AR-1368 are taking up the task. They are to eradicate the swarm's hive nest present within the planet. Out of the 5 squad members, 4; AR-26710, AR-53935, AR-214 and AR-1368 were present for the mission, while the fifth member, AR-2101 - was delayed due to a request from the higher ups in the Glamoth empire.

It was 03:40 GST (Galactic Standard Time) in Kaliman, 113/10/2094 - Four days before the Ascension festival. A festival in which represents the rise of the Iron cavalry and their involvement in the safety from and irradicating of the Swarm.
AR-1368: "Fyrefly Squad-VI, prepare for deployment in 12 hours. A Swarm colony has been identified on the surface of the planet Muravey, and we've been tasked with eradication before it establishes a hive. This is not Tayzzyronth, but the infestation is spreading fast. Stay in formation, keep your comms open, and do not engage recklessly. AR-214, that means you. AR-2101, I need your precision on overwatch. AR-26710, keep our flank secure. We are the Iron Cavalry, forged for war and bound by duty. No hesitation. No failure. We move out at 03:30. Get your rest and get your heads together. Briefing over."
AR-214 sighed from frustration due to the timing that they had to leave the base but had to deal with it. During the time between 15:30 to 03:30, AR-2101 remained in his dorm, staring at the ceiling, not thinking of anything except how dangerous this mission would be. AR-26710 in the next room was busy staring outside the balcony of the dorm and wondered how long until she would pass away from the entropy syndrome whilst also considering the risk of her own death in this mission. AR-53935 was in the Reciprocation centre, sipping on a modified tea, consumable for the iron cavalry. AR-214 was sitting beside him, also sipping on coffee, talking to him and conversing. AR-1368 was conversing with the other commanders and higher-ups about the specified mission.
A few hours later. The team got into their SAM armors and travelled to the planet through the vacuum of space, flying down towards Kaliman. AR-2101 was left behind due to the request of higher-ups.
AR-26710: "Where's AR-2101? Why isn't he here with us?" AR-26710 tapped AR-214, talking through the armor, she was worried about the missing teammate that the team so casually had left behind. Unaware of what he is doing back at base
AR-214: "Hm? Oh who.. 2101? I dunno.. 1368, what happened to 2101?" She replied, wondering before turning back to the captain of the team and asking the question.
AR-1368: "AR-2101 will join us in some time. Higher ups wanted the kid for something. Not that we should worry yet. Focus on the mission. Now." She answered before pointing at AR-214 to turn and look forward
AR-214: "I was just askin' on behalf of AR-26710 here... not that i would've cared if he'd come or not." She mumbled back at AR-1368, embarrassing AR-26710 inside the armor.
[Scene: A Tactical Briefing – Pre-Mission Planning] The squad is gathered around a holographic table, displaying a rotating 3D model of the mission area. AR-26710 is standing with arms crossed, analyzing the layout while AR-214 leans lazily against the table, spinning a small gadget in her hands. AR-1368 stands rigid, expecting discipline, while AR-53935 and AR-2101 observe quietly.
AR-26710: (calm and focused, pointing at a chokepoint on the map) "If we bottleneck them here, we can minimize resistance. AR-214, you'll take the high ground. Your ranged fire will suppress enemy movement."
AR-214: (grinning, teasing tone) "Suppress, or annihilate? C'mon, you know I don’t do subtle."
AR-1368: (stern, unimpressed) "You’ll follow orders, AR-214. This mission requires precision, not recklessness."
AR-53935: (thoughtful, rubbing his chin) "A well-placed strike could avoid unnecessary casualties… I wonder, do they even realize the futility of their resistance?"
AR-2101: (quiet but firm, looking at the map) "If we flank here… we could avoid a prolonged engagement. Less risk to the team."
AR-26710: (nods approvingly) "Good call. That will be Plan B if our primary approach fails. Stay adaptable."
AR-214: (playfully nudging AR-2101) "Look at you, strategist! Didn’t think you had it in ya."
AR-2101: (awkwardly adjusting his gloves, muttering) "I… I just read a lot."
[Scene: Post-Battle – Regrouping After Combat] Smoke rises from the battlefield as the squad regroups. AR-53935 is kneeling by a fallen enemy, deep in thought. AR-1368 is inspecting her armor for damage, while AR-214 wipes soot from her face with a cocky smirk. AR-26710 watches over the squad, checking their status. AR-2101 stands a little apart, reloading his plasma cannons.
AR-1368: (gruff, arms crossed) "Sloppy. We should have neutralized them faster."
AR-214: (grinning, stretching her arms) "Pfft, relax, boss. We won. And I got to set so many things on fire. Good day, if you ask me."
AR-53935: (quiet, melancholic) "Victory, at the cost of lives… I wonder if they believed in what they fought for."
AR-26710: (practical, looking over the battlefield) "They chose their side. We had our orders. Regret changes nothing."
AR-2101: (hesitant, glancing at AR-53935) "...Still. It’s… different when you see their faces."
AR-26710: (softening slightly, speaking quietly) "It is. But we keep moving forward."
[Scene: A Quiet Moment – Inside the Barracks] Late at night, the barracks are quiet. AR-214 is sprawled across her bunk, staring at the ceiling. AR-26710 is sitting at a desk, reviewing mission logs. AR-2101 is on the floor with a technical manual, absorbed in its pages. AR-1368 is polishing her weapon with sharp precision, while AR-53935 leans against the wall, lost in thought.
AR-214: (groaning dramatically) "Ughhh, I’m so bored. Someone tell me a story. Or, like, fight me. Either or."
AR-26710: (without looking up, dryly) "You could review tomorrow’s objectives instead."
AR-214: (laughing) "Pffft, yeah, right. I’d rather spar with AR-1368."
AR-1368: (not looking up, deadpan) "I would break you."
AR-214: (grinning) "Yeah, but imagine how fun it would be to try."
AR-53935: (musing, staring at the ceiling) "If you need distraction, consider the vastness of space. Billions of stars, countless lives. We are but a fraction of the grand design…"
AR-214: (groaning again) "Okay, nope, no existential crisis tonight, thanks."
AR-2101: (quietly flipping a page in his manual) "...You started it."
AR-214: (playfully tossing a pillow at him) "Shhh, nerd."
AR-2101: (muttering, catching the pillow and putting it aside) "Not a nerd."
[Scene: AR-26710 and AR-2101 – An Unspoken Connection] After a long mission, AR-26710 and AR-2101 sit side by side in the hangar, their helmets resting beside them. The dim glow of maintenance lights flickers overhead.
AR-26710: (calmly, watching him work on his plasma cannon) "You always take care of your gear before yourself."
AR-2101: (softly, adjusting a calibration tool) "...It’s easier. Machines make sense. People don’t."
AR-26710: (studying him for a moment, then looking away) "I get that."
(A comfortable silence lingers. AR-26710 stretches slightly, feeling the exhaustion in her limbs. AR-2101 hesitates before speaking again.)
AR-2101: (nervously, glancing at her) "You… you did well out there. I mean, you always do. But… yeah."
AR-26710: (smirks slightly, tilting her head) "Was that a compliment?"
AR-2101: (flustered, rubbing the back of his neck) "I– uh… I mean, yeah?"
AR-26710: (soft chuckle, looking ahead) "Thanks."
(Another silence, but this one is lighter, less tense. AR-26710 doesn’t say anything more, but she allows herself the smallest of smiles as AR-2101 keeps working.)
