Trix'vara the Rumor-Weaver

Species: Erukan Homeworld: Eruk Family: Spawn of Beck'zzy the Manager-Summoner and Grok'zyr the Endurer Role: Socialite, professional gossip collector, shopping enthusiast, amateur relationship analyst, and neighborhood information broker Known for: Her two heads, obsessive shopping habits, elaborate gossip network, social-media presence, shameless curiosity, and uncanny ability to discover things people very much wanted to keep secret

"I didn't start the rumor. I just found out it was true."

Whether this is technically a defense or an admission depends entirely on which head is answering.

Appearance

Trix'vara is a striking young adult female Erukan with soft sea-green skin, pointed fin-like ears, golden slit-pupiled eyes, and the characteristic pinkish tentacles of her species.

Her most immediately distinctive feature is that she possesses two heads, a rare Erukan trait that makes her simultaneously one individual and a pair of very different personalities. Both heads share the same vivid magenta-pink hair, styled into enormous rounded bobs with sweeping bangs. Both heads wear pink lipstick, purple eye shadow and makeup. She has modest jiggly breasts and a modest jiggly ass. Each head has its own expressive eyes, freckles, mouth, and facial expressions, although they frequently coordinate their expressions unconsciously.

Both heads also possess a prominent white bioluminescent crest rising through their hair.

Her pink tentacles curl dramatically behind and around her heads, often resembling elaborate extensions of her hairstyle. Unlike ordinary hair, however, they are highly expressive and tend to move independently of her conscious intentions.

Trix'vara has a fashionable, deliberately glamorous appearance.

She wears a sparkling pink cropped top that leaves her midriff exposed, paired with a short denim skirt and shimmering white thigh-high stockings. A glittery pink purse hangs from her shoulder, matching the pink smartphone she almost constantly carries.

Her cyan-painted nails and glossy makeup reinforce her carefully cultivated image.

She doesn't merely dress for herself.

She dresses to be seen.

Her favorite accessory is arguably her phone, which is rarely more than a few inches from her hand.

If she's not taking a selfie, she's texting.

If she's not texting, she's reading messages.

If she's not reading messages, she's probably discovering something she absolutely should not know.

Personality

Trix'vara is social, curious, fashionable, mischievous, observant, and almost pathologically interested in other people's business.

She loves shopping.

She loves gossip.

She loves social media.

She loves hearing secrets.

And most importantly, she loves putting those four things together.

Trix'vara doesn't necessarily want to hurt anybody with the information she collects.

She just finds other people's lives fascinating.

A breakup?

Interesting.

A secret relationship?

Fascinating.

Someone buying something they claimed they couldn't afford?

Extremely interesting.

A neighbor suddenly coming home at three in the morning?

She is already investigating.

She has an enormous network of acquaintances, store employees, classmates, neighbors, friends-of-friends, and random people she's somehow convinced to tell her things.

This is how she earned the title Rumor-Weaver.

She doesn't simply repeat rumors.

She connects them.

She takes three unrelated pieces of information, finds the common thread, and somehow reconstructs the entire story.

Sometimes she's wrong.

Unfortunately for everyone involved, she's right often enough to make ignoring her impossible.

Her Two Heads

Trix'vara's two heads aren't merely decorative duplicates.

They are two distinct voices sharing one body.

They generally agree on the important things.

They absolutely do not agree on everything else.

One head tends to be somewhat more analytical and observant, while the other is more impulsive, dramatic, and socially adventurous.

Neither will admit that the other is the dramatic one.

They can have entire arguments with each other while simultaneously participating in a conversation with somebody else.

This has produced some spectacularly confusing social situations.

For example:

Left head:

"Don't tell her."

Right head:

"I'm absolutely telling her."

Trix'vara:

"We're not telling her."

Right head:

"You aren't."

Left head:

"Neither are you."

Five minutes later, the secret is somehow known by everyone in the shopping district.

Her Shopping Obsession

Trix'vara inherited Beck'zzy's love of shopping and transformed it into an entire lifestyle.

For Trix'vara, shopping isn't simply purchasing things.

It's social activity, entertainment, research, and competition.

She knows which stores have the newest arrivals.

She knows which employees are friendly.

She knows which sales are legitimate.

She knows which brands are suddenly fashionable.

And she knows exactly which stores have employees who are willing to share gossip.

Her mother taught her how to complain.

Trix'vara learned how to network.

Her Gossip Network

Trix'vara's greatest talent isn't lying.

It's listening.

People tell her things because she makes them feel interesting.

She'll listen to someone complain about their relationship for twenty minutes, ask exactly the right questions, and walk away knowing considerably more than they intended to reveal.

She rarely forgets information.

And because she has two heads, she can theoretically have one head participating in a conversation while the other is quietly noticing everything happening around them.

This has made her surprisingly difficult to deceive.

Trying to lie to Trix'vara is essentially attempting to fool two observers simultaneously.

Her Parents

Trix'vara grew up between two very different parental personalities.

Beck'zzy is loud, demanding, confrontational, and socially aggressive.

Grok'zyr is quiet, stubborn, practical, and perpetually exhausted.

Their marriage is deeply unhappy, and Trix'vara has been aware of that for much of her life.

She knows when they're fighting.

She knows when they're merely irritated.

She knows when they're pretending everything is fine.

And because she's an extremely observant child, she has probably noticed things about their marriage that neither parent realizes she noticed.

Rather than making her withdrawn, however, the experience has made her fascinated by relationships.

She analyzes other people's romances constantly.

Partly because she's nosy.

Partly because she's trying to understand them.

Trix'vara & Beck'zzy

Trix'vara and Beck'zzy are remarkably similar.

This is exactly why they irritate each other.

Beck'zzy sees Trix'vara's gossiping and thinks:

"Why does my daughter have to know everybody's business?"

Trix'vara sees Beck'zzy interrogating a store employee and thinks:

"Why does Mother have to know everybody's business?"

Neither recognizes the hypocrisy.

Beck'zzy is simultaneously proud of Trix'vara's confidence and horrified by how much information she possesses.

She considers her daughter an ungrateful spawn whenever Trix'vara spends too much money, ignores her advice, or gets involved in something she shouldn't.

Trix'vara, naturally, considers this unfair.

Their arguments can become extremely elaborate.

Two heads versus one does not necessarily give Trix'vara the advantage.

Beck'zzy has decades more experience arguing.

Trix'vara & Grok'zyr

Trix'vara's relationship with Grok'zyr is quieter.

She absolutely adores her father.

She just doesn't always show it.

Grok'zyr, meanwhile, loves his daughter but frequently considers her an ungrateful little spawn.

She talks too much.

She shops too much.

She asks too many questions.

She knows too much.

And she has apparently inherited his stubbornness without inheriting his ability to remain quiet.

Yet Grok'zyr is also the person Trix'vara tends to seek out when she wants somewhere peaceful.

He doesn't interrogate her.

He doesn't demand that she explain herself.

He doesn't force her to take sides in his arguments with Beck'zzy.

He simply lets her sit with him.

For all his complaints, he is one of the most reliable people in her life.

Her Relationship With Attention

Trix'vara loves attention.

Unlike Grok'zyr, who seems happiest when nobody is bothering him, Trix'vara actively seeks out social interaction.

She likes compliments.

She likes being photographed.

She likes showing off new clothes.

She likes being noticed in public.

And she especially likes knowing that somebody is watching her social-media posts.

Her phone is essentially an extension of her personality.

A shopping trip without a photograph is barely a shopping trip.

A photograph without a caption is incomplete.

And a caption without somebody getting mildly jealous is apparently a missed opportunity.

Her greatest fear isn't necessarily being disliked.

It's being irrelevant.

Her Romantic Curiosity

Trix'vara has a complicated relationship with romance because of the marriage she grew up watching.

She's fascinated by romantic relationships while simultaneously being suspicious of them.

She'll spend hours analyzing somebody else's relationship but become evasive when anyone asks about her own.

She has extremely high standards.

Potential partners aren't simply evaluated by Trix'vara.

They're evaluated by both heads.

They have to survive two sets of questions, two opinions, and potentially two completely different interpretations of the same conversation.

If one head likes someone and the other doesn't, the relationship has already become complicated.

If both like someone?

That's when Trix'vara becomes genuinely nervous.

Because beneath all her confidence and gossiping, she doesn't want to repeat her parents' story.

Her Social Habits

Trix'vara has developed several habits that are almost impossible for her to suppress.

She talks to herself.

Technically, she argues with herself.

She occasionally whispers information between her own heads.

She sometimes has one head narrate what the other head is doing.

She will stop mid-conversation because one head has noticed something interesting happening across the room.

She takes pictures of practically everything.

She remembers tiny details about people that they don't remember telling her.

And when she discovers particularly juicy information, her tentacles tend to curl and twitch excitedly before she even says anything.

Her parents have learned to recognize this reaction.

When Trix'vara's tentacles start moving like that, somebody has probably done something stupid.

The Daughter of the Endurer and the Manager-Summoner

Trix'vara is the strange but fitting product of her parents.

From Beck'zzy, she inherited:

  • Confidence.
  • Social aggression.
  • Fashion consciousness.
  • Curiosity.
  • A love of shopping.
  • A refusal to mind her own business.

From Grok'zyr, she inherited:

  • Stubbornness.
  • Observation.
  • Patience when she wants something.
  • A surprisingly practical side.
  • The ability to quietly endure uncomfortable situations while gathering information.

And from being born two-headed, she developed something neither parent possesses:

the ability to argue with herself without ever needing another person.

Trix'vara can be vain, nosy, materialistic, dramatic, and occasionally exhausting.

She can also be perceptive, loyal, socially intelligent, and remarkably protective of the people she considers hers.

She may gossip about everyone.

She may know everyone's secrets.

She may spend an irresponsible amount of money on clothes.

But when someone she loves is genuinely in trouble, both heads stop talking.

And Trix'vara listens.

Then she starts weaving.
