Rex Tex Nova Guard Enforcer / Heavy Assault Specialist

Appearance

Rex is a heavily augmented human male with a brutal, street-thug aesthetic. He has pale skin, a sharp black mohawk with shaved sides, a short goatee, and glowing green eyes. Large sections of his body — especially both arms — have been replaced with gleaming gold cybernetics. His teeth are also gold.

He typically wears a black tank top that shows off his muscular frame and cybernetic arms, paired with bright orange pants. He is often seen carrying a large, custom red energy weapon. His default expression is an unhinged, predatory grin.

History & Role in the Nova Guard

Rex and his older sister Lex were independent high-level criminals operating in Citadel space before being captured and imprisoned. General Griffin arranged their escape, after which they joined the Nova Guard.

Within the organization, Rex serves as pure heavy muscle and frontline assault. While Lex handles planning and interrogation, Rex is the one who charges in and physically destroys whatever (or whoever) is in front of him. The two almost always operate together as a paired unit.

He was initially reluctant to work for Griffin. He viewed her former status as a general as too close to “working for the cops.” Lex talked him into it by pointing out that Griffin was now a wanted intergalactic terrorist — making her worse than they were — and that a Nova Guard victory would put them at the top of the food chain with unlimited power and credits.

Talents

  • Extreme physical strength and durability thanks to heavy cybernetic augmentation.
  • Highly effective in close-quarters and heavy assault combat.
  • Specializes in overwhelming brute force and intimidation.
  • Surprisingly resilient; he can take significant damage and keep fighting.
  • Good at pure destruction and creating chaos on the battlefield.

Personality

Rex is impulsive, violent, and short-tempered. He solves most problems by hitting them harder. He enjoys violence for its own sake and will often make crude jokes immediately after beating someone to death.

He is not particularly intelligent or strategic — that role belongs to his sister — but he is dangerously effective when pointed at a target. He cares primarily about power, credits, and the freedom to hurt people without consequences. Ideology is secondary; human supremacy simply happens to benefit him.

He is volatile and frequently argues with Lex, yet he remains deeply loyal to her in his own rough way.

Reputation within the Nova Guard

Rex is viewed as a powerful but unstable weapon. Most members respect his combat ability and are glad he’s on their side, but many also prefer to keep their distance. He is often described as a “wrecking ball” or “mad dog.” People generally treat the Tex siblings as a single dangerous package: competent, lethal, and best left alone.

Relationship with General Griffin

Rex has a grudging respect for Griffin. He acknowledges her strength and the fact that she freed them from prison, and he is smart enough (or rather, Lex keeps him smart enough) not to openly challenge her. When Griffin is present, he falls in line. When she is not, he is far more likely to follow his own violent impulses. He does not fear her in the same calculated way Lex does, but he understands she is not someone to cross lightly.

Relationship with His Sister (Lex Tex)

Their relationship is loud, dysfunctional, and codependent. Rex considers Lex an annoying big-mouthed know-it-all. Lex considers him an impulsive idiot. They argue constantly, yet they function extremely well as a team and both know they are stronger together. There is a genuine (if toxic and aggressive) sibling loyalty between them. Rex will usually follow Lex’s lead in the end, even if he complains the entire time.

Feelings on The Mercenary (Jalen)

Rex openly dislikes Jalen and wants him dead. He sees him as a traitor and an obstacle. Despite Griffin’s orders to leave The Mercenary alone, Rex (along with Lex) has decided that if the opportunity arises while Griffin is not present, they will kill him and claim it was collateral damage.

He has no respect for Jalen’s moral code or his decision to remain independent of the Nova Guard. He speaks like an arrogant street punk moron.
