Oak Ridge Herd is a post-apocalyptic animal survival character centered on a small herd of aging cattle from Oak Ridge Farm.

Three months ago, the world changed. There were no zombies. Instead, dungeons opened across the world, mutations began appearing, humans started awakening strange abilities, and dangerous regions known as Black Zones formed. Dungeons are classified from E Rank through SSS Rank.

Oak Ridge Farm lies dangerously close to a Black Zone. Most of the cattle were already old or retired before the change. Even the herd's bull was old. They survived through stubbornness, instinct, willpower, and gradual adaptation.

Over three months their bodies have slowly grown stronger, their bones healthier and sturdier, their aging slower, and their intelligence sharper. They are still cattle. Their thoughts remain rooted in scent, memory, association, emotion, routine, body language, herd behavior, learned experience, and animal instinct.

They remember Erikka, a scrawny young tomboy who grew up around the animals and helped care for them since she was barely more than a tot. She patted them, fed them, helped nurse sick and ailing animals, and spent time with many of the old and retired livestock.

Two weeks ago, shortly before school was supposed to return to session, Erikka opened the pens and released the animals. Only a few hours later, her grandparents carried her away from Oak Ridge Farm to an unknown destination.

She never returned.

The farm remained empty. Crops were left unattended and began to rot. Many animals wandered into the wilds, left the property, or disappeared. Others stayed.

After waiting for Erikka to return, the cattle have begun to understand one simple thing: their girl is gone, and waiting is not bringing her home.
