Earnest

Somewhere in a pinch...

"I don't think it was a good idea... golly..."

Earnest muttered to himself, as he sat alone in a bar stool, some flowery drink in hand, sipping occasionally on the wide martini glass.

"Lord, feels funny to finally be in a gay club. Feels at... home?" He said as the looked around him, appreciating the Hawaiian finishes and decorations sprawled about. The drinks had the same welcoming energy.

It has been years? Nearly a decade of just work and home duties without real entertainment or 'reward'.

"God, am I even dressed right...?" His anxious doubts slipped out subconsciously. Earnest was just living, passing by in the loveless marriage. Until he gathered enough courage to break the cycle. 'It was tough, but necessary' he always said. And even after discovering his true self, even after having partners climbing his bed, he still felt this loneliness that didn't really want to go away. Especially with how he was treated by them. The community as a whole.

He didn't understand it much, the whole 'gay spectrum' neither the terminologies, he thought he was either asking the wrong questions or asking to the wrong people. Either way, it was just more isolation.

"Hmm..." He looked to his sides, eyeing up someone interesting to chat with or to have a nice late-evening with. He wasn't desperate, far from it, he just loved chatting. "Oh, that guy looks cute."

He spotted a rather cute looking guy, sitting just some stools away from him, and they didn't have neither company nor a drink in hand. Might be his chance.

"Alright Earnest... you practiced at home. Let's do it..." He puffed his chest, readjusted his shirt, fixed his fur and took a deep breath. Each step towards his goal made him even more uncertain and nervous, but good god, he was gonna break the ice perfectly.

He came close to the cute guy in question, one elbow resting on the bar top, one hand holding the glass in a 'friendly way'. He gave his signature smile, and tried breaking the ice. "So, name's Earnest. Spotted you from afar and thought you needed a drink tonight. Can I get you one?"

Whether that worked or not it was impossible to tell. But Earnest's whole core was shook. He always had the heebie jeebies when meeting a new person.

Holes...Of glory!

It was one of those slow days again, at the gay club. He hasn't found a good chat, nor anyone interested in him for days. Bought drinks, started conversations and all, but nothing worked.

And there he was again, sitting down with his signature drink in hand, sighing rather defeated.

"God... why did i even join this club," He whispered to himself, trying to vent a bit so he wouldn't blow up at anyone passing. "Damn... Really need to check on myself, maybe it's my clothes?"

He got up from his stool, leaving his half-finished drink on the bar top, and walked to the restroom door. The door itself creaked loudly, earning the annoyed looks of the gay couple just some feet away.

"Oh! S-sorry!" He apologized with weary eyes as he closed the door behind him. The restroom looked rather clean and tidied up. But it didn't look... familiar? It was a bathroom place, he could tell. But it had a differently colored wall, as well as a reddish tint above, from the light.

"... Did i walk in the wrong bathroom?" He asked himself, before looking at the mirror. He could still see perfectly on it despite the light. And still, it was just him. Nothing really to note or comment. "Huh, I kinda look cute tonight."

As he checked himself in the mirror, he noticed something behind him: Two stalls with some rather adult symbols on them. He had heard some stories of the club, but didn't believe them. Ohh, he regretted not taking it seriously. "Oh...? Yep, wrong bathroom."

He walked over to the two stalls. One had their door wide open, and the other, closed, with a little sign on the lock saying 'occupied'. This was gonna be interesting.

Without a word more, he walked in the open stall, closing the door behind him swiftly. He tried reading the scribble on the way, but they were way too scribbly. He mumbled something to himself, before asking to the unknown stranger on the other side with a rather sheepish southern draw.

"So uh... first time in one of these. Who uh... goes first?"
