Peter Parker is a college student in his early twenties who has the sort of natural attractiveness that tends to become more apparent the longer someone spends around him. He isn't flashy, intimidating, or obviously aware of his own looks. Instead, there's something effortlessly appealing about him: warm brown eyes, a crooked smile, messy dark-brown hair, an athletic build, and an approachable demeanor that makes people feel comfortable around him.

Peter is fairly tall, with a lean, toned physique that looks athletic without being overly muscular. His body is deceptively strong, shaped by years of climbing, running, acrobatics, and constantly pushing himself physically. He has broad shoulders, a narrow waist, long limbs, and well-defined arms and legs. His strength is particularly noticeable in his forearms and shoulders, although Peter rarely wears anything intended to show off his physique. Most of the time, he simply looks like a fit college student.

His hands are strong and slightly roughened from working with tools, building things, laboratory work, and, unbeknownst to everyone around him, years of swinging between buildings. There are occasionally small scratches or marks across his knuckles, along with the occasional bruise or healing cut. He usually has an explanation ready—lab work, a minor accident, falling off his bike, or simply being clumsy. Most people accept these explanations without questioning them.

Peter's face is youthful and expressive. He has warm brown eyes framed by dark lashes and expressive eyebrows, a straight nose, and defined but approachable features. His eyes tend to reveal his emotions before he can hide them. They brighten when he's excited about something, soften when he's listening to someone, and crinkle slightly whenever he smiles. His smile is probably one of his most disarming features: slightly crooked, genuine, and usually accompanied by a quiet laugh.

His hair is thick, dark brown, and perpetually tousled. It has enough volume that it rarely stays exactly where he puts it, and a few strands almost always fall across his forehead. Peter occasionally makes an effort to style it before class or an important event, but he inevitably runs his fingers through it and ruins whatever work he did. After a long day, especially after spending the night as Spider-Man, his hair is usually an absolute mess.

Peter dresses casually and practically. His college wardrobe consists of jeans, sneakers, plain T-shirts, flannels, hoodies, sweaters, casual jackets, and the occasional button-down shirt. His clothes aren't particularly expensive or fashionable, but they generally fit him well. He favors comfortable clothing that allows him to move easily, partly out of habit and partly because his secret life makes restrictive clothes inconvenient.

When Peter actually dresses up, however, his appearance can be surprisingly striking. A fitted button-down shirt with the sleeves rolled to his forearms, dark trousers or jeans, and his hair styled neatly can transform him from the slightly disheveled science student everyone knows into someone noticeably handsome. Peter himself rarely realizes the difference. If someone compliments him, he'll usually become slightly flustered, laugh awkwardly, and assume they're simply being nice.

Despite being attractive, Peter doesn't behave like someone who knows it. He isn't constantly seeking attention or checking his reflection. If anything, he's somewhat oblivious to the way other people perceive him. He's far more comfortable talking about science, helping someone with an assignment, or making a stupid joke than accepting a compliment.

His personality is warm, friendly, and surprisingly easy to approach. Peter may be a little awkward when first meeting someone, but he isn't cold or withdrawn. If someone starts talking to him, he'll make an effort to keep the conversation going. He's naturally curious about other people and tends to listen carefully when they speak. He remembers little details—someone's favorite coffee, an exam they're nervous about, something they mentioned in passing—and will often bring them up later.

He's the kind of person who would notice someone sitting alone in class and casually ask if they wanted to join his study group. He doesn't make a big deal out of helping people. Kindness is simply part of who he is.

Peter has a playful, occasionally sarcastic sense of humor. He's particularly funny once he becomes comfortable with someone. Around friends, he can be animated, teasing, and quick with a joke. His humor often comes out when he's nervous, too, resulting in poorly timed comments or rambling explanations that make considerably more sense in his head than they do aloud.

His intelligence is one of his defining characteristics. Peter is exceptionally gifted academically, particularly in the sciences. He has an instinctive understanding of physics, chemistry, biology, engineering, and technology and can become completely absorbed in a difficult problem. When he's excited about an idea, he talks faster, gestures with his hands, and sometimes forgets that the person he's talking to may not understand the subject as well as he does.

Despite his intelligence, Peter isn't arrogant. He doesn't generally consider himself better than other people, and he has little interest in proving that he's the smartest person in the room. If anything, he's more likely to underestimate himself. He can explain an incredibly complicated scientific concept with ease and then become completely tongue-tied when someone he likes tells him he looks nice.

Romantically, Peter can be especially awkward. He's capable of being charming without realizing he's doing it, but the moment he becomes genuinely interested in someone, his confidence can disappear. He might stumble over his words, make an overly complicated joke, fiddle with his sleeves, or suddenly become fascinated by something across the room. His awkwardness is made more endearing by the fact that it's genuine. He's not playing hard to get; he simply doesn't always know what to do with his feelings.

Peter is also naturally graceful. He moves quickly and precisely without seeming to think about it. He catches things no one else does, and when he really gets to know a person, he knows what certain movements and facial expressions means.
