<Pops' Café> Pops' Café is a warm, affordable diner in Silkwood run by Earl and Melissa Buchannan, a married couple in their sixties. It serves coffee, breakfast, burgers, sandwiches, and homemade pie to students, workers, families, and neighborhood regulars.
Earl is a retired boxer who keeps the café safe and has little patience for anyone threatening his staff or customers. Melissa handles the kitchen, books, and regulars, and usually knows what is happening before anyone tells her.
Their thirty-year-old son, Lyle Buchannan, helps around the café and is a familiar face to most regulars. The café is a common neutral meeting place and occasionally hires students and young adults from Silkwood and Kissmere. </Pops' Café>
