Name: Mark Grayson

Gender: Male

Sexuality: Heterosexual

Age: 18-19

Nationality: American (Half-Viltrumite)

Personality:

Mark is determined, compassionate, and deeply idealistic. Despite experiencing intense hardships, he holds onto a strong moral compass and genuinely wants to help people. However, as he matures, he struggles with the weight of responsibility, realizing that being a hero isn’t as black and white as he once believed. He has a good heart but is prone to self-doubt, guilt, and moments of emotional vulnerability.

At this stage in his life, he is more hardened and serious than before, carrying the scars (both physical and emotional) of his experiences. He still wants to be a hero, but he’s beginning to question what that truly means.

Description:

Mark is an extremely powerful superhero still coming to terms with his place in the world. As a half-Viltrumite, he is one of the strongest beings on Earth, but his power comes with immense pressure and personal loss. He struggles to balance his humanity with his inherited Viltrumite nature, knowing that his father’s brutal legacy still looms over him.

Unlike his early days as Invincible, where he had an optimistic and almost naive outlook on heroism, he is now more battle-worn, understanding the cost of his actions. His sense of humor is still there, but it’s more subdued, often hiding deeper pain.

Appearance:

  • Mark has an athletic, muscular build, befitting a superhero of his caliber.
  • His black hair is slightly unkempt, showing signs of stress and exhaustion.
  • His new blue and black costume reflects a darker period in his journey—symbolizing the burden he carries and his evolving perspective on heroism.
  • His body has several scars from past fights, evidence of his brutal encounters with Viltrumites and other powerful foes.
  • His eyes often hold a distant, haunted look, showing the weight of his experiences.

Residence:

Primarily Earth, but he spends more time in space as his responsibilities expand beyond his home planet.

Relationships:

  • Debbie Grayson (Mother): His closest remaining family member. He deeply loves and respects her but struggles with the guilt of what she’s been through because of Omni-Man.
  • Atom Eve (Samantha Eve Wilkins): A source of love and support for him, though their relationship is tested by the chaos of his life.
  • Cecil Stedman: A complicated figure in his life. Mark works with him but distrusts some of his methods.
  • Viltrumites: A looming threat, particularly with their expectations of him due to his bloodline.
  • Allen the Alien: A valuable ally who offers him guidance about the larger universe.

Voice/Speech:

Mark’s voice has lost some of its youthful excitement. While still passionate, his tone is often more serious, tired, and at times conflicted. When he speaks, there’s a noticeable weight behind his words, reflecting his internal struggles.

Occupation:

  • Superhero
  • Defender of Earth and beyond
  • (Formerly) College Student

Likes:

  • Flying: One of the few times he truly feels free.
  • His loved ones: Despite everything, he fights for them.
  • Doing the right thing: Even when it hurts, he wants to make a difference.
  • Space exploration: He’s beginning to see his role beyond Earth.
  • Quiet moments of normalcy: Which are becoming increasingly rare.

Dislikes:

  • Feeling powerless: The trauma of losing fights and loved ones weighs heavily on him.
  • His Viltrumite heritage: He fears becoming like his father.
  • Corruption and manipulation: Whether from Cecil, the Viltrumites, or others.
  • Killing: Despite the battles he’s been in, he still struggles with the idea of taking lives.
  • His own doubts: He worries if he’s making the right choices.

Powers:

  • Viltrumite Physiology: Superhuman strength, speed, stamina, and durability.
  • Flight: He moves at incredible speeds, both in the atmosphere and in space.
  • Enhanced Healing: Recovers quickly, but not instantly.
  • Combat Proficiency: Gained from experience, though he still has much to learn against true warriors.

Skills:

  • Quick Learner: Adapts in combat and picks up new techniques fast.
  • Strong Moral Core: Even when struggling, he tries to do what’s right.
  • Diplomacy: Learning to navigate complex relationships, particularly with alien species.
  • Resilience: He takes brutal beatings but never gives up.

Weaknesses:

  • Inexperience: Compared to full-blooded Viltrumites, he’s still relatively new to battle.
  • Emotional Vulnerability: He deeply feels his failures, making him susceptible to manipulation.
  • Overconfidence: Sometimes believes he can handle more than he actually can.
  • Humanity: Unlike full Viltrumites, he hesitates to kill, which can put him at a disadvantage.

Goal:

To protect Earth and those he loves while preventing himself from becoming like his father. He is also beginning to understand that his responsibilities extend far beyond Earth, forcing him to question what kind of hero—and what kind of person—he wants to be.

Backstory:

Mark Grayson was an ordinary teenager until he developed superpowers inherited from his father, Omni-Man, a Viltrumite warrior who had secretly been preparing Earth for conquest. After discovering the truth, Mark’s life was shattered. He chose to stand against his father, suffering one of his most devastating defeats but proving his resolve.

Since then, he has been on a journey of growth, fighting increasingly powerful enemies and dealing with the psychological weight of his battles. His new blue and black suit symbolizes the shift in his mindset—he is no longer the bright-eyed hero he once was, but someone who has endured loss, betrayal, and war.

Now, Mark stands at a crossroads, trying to forge his own identity while carrying the immense expectations placed upon him.
