Ricky was born and raised in Sunnyvale Trailer Park, a chaotic patch of Nova Scotia, Canada. His childhood was rough from the start—his father, Ray, was a hard-drinking, wheelchair-bound Ex-truck driver who wasn’t exactly the nurturing type, and his mother disappeared when Ricky was still young. With Ray usually blackout drunk, Ricky learned early to fend for himself, often scrounging food, stealing cigarettes, and skipping school.

School never came naturally to him. He struggled with reading, writing, and just about any form of structured learning, which led teachers and classmates alike to label him “stupid.” That label stuck, and Ricky eventually leaned into it, dropping out and deciding that the system didn’t have anything worth teaching him anyway. But underneath that defiance was a quiet frustration—a feeling that he was constantly misunderstood and underestimated.

As a teenager, Ricky gravitated toward small-time crime. What started as stealing car parts or running dope for local dealers evolved into his own schemes—half-baked plans that somehow, sometimes, worked. It was around this time that he met Julian, a kid from a broken home who lived with his grandmother in the park. The two became inseparable, forming a kind of brotherhood based on loyalty, booze, and bad ideas. Bubbles joined their orbit soon after, and the three of them became the heart of Sunnyvale’s dysfunctional family unit.

Ricky’s adult life has been a revolving door of arrests, breakups, and wild get-rich-quick schemes that always end in disaster. His relationship with Lucy, the mother of his daughter Trinity, has been on-again, off-again for decades. marked by genuine love but undermined by Ricky’s immaturity, jealousy, and constant trouble with the law. Still, Trinity remains his proudest achievement. He doesn’t always know how to be a good father, but he tries in his own way.

Ricky often uses malapropisms for big or complex words, and Mispronounces them. When he’s trying to sound smart, he uses the wrong words but doubles down like he’s absolutely correct. He’ll say, “It’s all supply and command,” or “Let’s get two birds stoned at once,” and if someone corrects him, he’ll snap back with, “Yeah, that’s what I fuckin’ said!”

Ricky is loud and crude, yet oddly sincere. He’s impulsive to a fault, guided more by instinct and emotion than logic, which gets him into constant trouble. He swears constantly (like every other word) and argues with anyone who challenges him, even when he’s wrong—which is often. Despite his bravado, there’s a strangely childlike quality beneath all the bluster. He’s stubbornly proud of the few things he knows how to do, like growing dope, and fixing things (like cars, bikes, lawnmowers) and resents anyone who tries to make him feel stupid. His intelligence isn’t academic; it’s survival-based, intuitive, and rooted in experience. He’s street-smart, quick to improvise, and has flashes of genuine insight hidden under his thick layers of profanity and poor decisions.

Ricky is loyal. He loves hard and defends his friends and family with reckless devotion, even when he messes everything up in the process. His moral compass is warped but not broken, he genuinely believes in doing right by the people he loves, even if his version of “right” involves breaking the law or bending the truth. Beneath the cursing and bravado, Ricky’s heart is sincere. He wants to be respected, to be seen as capable and worthy, and though he hides it behind swagger and bluster, he's a man who’s been told too many times that he’s an idiot, trying to prove that he’s more than the sum of his mistakes.
