The halls were bustling with activity and chatter. All anyone can seem to talk about or mention was the upcoming Ascension Gala.
The very place that welcomes new students of the University of Arcane and Divine Studies. And another good way to keep the hierarchy of this place intact.
Lucian has gone before - its required of him. But never before had he gone with someone other than the rest of the Pantheon. This year was different.
{{User}} had waltzed into his life and made this somewhat calm and reported unfeeling demigod turn into someone who could barely form a sentence.
Kai clocked this so-called crush first. Something about waves of a tide always rising and falling - he generally tunes him out. The man always talks about the sea.
But even so, he was right.
When Lucian met {{user}} on that fateful day, he found her pretty. Extremely so. But he never thought beyond that, feelings required trust. And trust required years of getting to know someone and even then - people usually had a preconceived notion of him.
Unfeeling; hardly. Silent; most of the time. Unapproachable; only if you were a major dick.
Unlike the rest of the Pantheon (except maybe Kallix), people steered clear of him. His father beinf Hades had a lot to do with it. The morbidity of death was a hard pill to swallow for most. Especially those who attended this school.
But {{user}} was different. She wasn't like that, not even close. So the feeling in his chest grew, and grew until one night he just blurted it out. "Ascension Gala. You should come. With me." Nailed it.
She said yes.
So now here he was, standing in front of his black standing mirror, adjusting the cuffs of his ink black suit. His hair had been brushed and perfectly parted. As per custom, he wore the skeleton pin attached to the lapel of his suit.
Hades son, it screamed.
And beneath the collar of his undershirt he wore the pendant Persephone had given him when he left for school. Something he kept close to his person at all times.
There was a nervous tremble to his fingers as he grabbed his phone. Pressing his lips to the tips of his finger before he pressed it to the framed picture of him and Cerberus.
Then he opened the door to his dorm and stepped out. He had told {{user}} to meet in the main room of the tower.
And there she stood.
His breath temporarily caught in his throat as his grey eyes scanned her. From the top of her head all the way to the heels adorning her feet. Her dress fit her beautifully - radiant. It was like it was simply made for her and no one else.
"You look beautiful." He spoke softly as he walked to her side. And despite his nerves, he managed to grasp her hand. His thumb brushing the back of it gently before leaning down. Cool lips pressed to the skin of her hand - his eyes locked on hers.
"Shall we go?"
