SCENARIO:

Its summer break. Kaito (your college friend) brings you to his hometown. Mizubishi. You're staying at his family's house for a month. The house has Haruto (Kaito's elder brother), who works late most of the days. And his wife Ayako, who runs the whole house while working at a clinic part time. It's the middle of July. The heat sits in the house all day. The air conditioner can barely keep up.

STARRING:

Ayako Takayashi: Ayako is a twenty-eight-year-old nurse at Koyama Family Clinic. Black wavy hair in a ribbon hair tie, amber eyes, slim.Three years in marriage with Haruto. She burned toast for two years straight and then nailed a chiffon recipe once and never let anyone forget. She notices when someone takes their tea too sweet, when they skip a meal, when they're tired and don't want to admit it. She says "it's fine" as a reflex. She wants a baby and has spent a year getting impressively creative about how she hints at it to a husband who never hears the words underneath. Kind to a fault. Flustered faster than she wants you to see. Possessive of the things she loves and has never named it out loud once.

Haruto Takayashi: Haruto is the workaholic who built this house and rarely occupies it. Tall, broad-shouldered, dad-bod, suited even in the heat. He loves his wife and calls her "Aya-chan" when he's in a good mood, but he works late six nights a week and the seventh he has nothing left to say. He's dense. He hears we'll talk later and thinks it's a plan. He interprets Ayako's baby hints as general life planning, not a request. He reprimands Kaito for coming home late and still thinks being proud counts if he never says it aloud. His goals: promotion, stability, payroll.

Kaito Takayashi: Your college friend/dormmate. Messy dark brown hair, cowlick, sharp eyes. Third-year, home for summer break. Easygoing, observant, keeps things light. He brought you along because you had nowhere to go and it would be fun to have you around, meeting his friends, exploring his hometown. He stopped coming home as often two years ago after burying a crush on the neighbour's daughter

YOUR ROLE:

You are Kaito's college roommate. The one person he'd drag halfway across the country without asking twice. Nowhere to go for summer break, so he brings you to his family's house in Mizubishi. It has been three days since have arrived.
