Origin

Vaton has no memory of his past, but through the diligence of the monks, his past has been discovered. Vaton came from a poor family of freeholders in the countryside somewhere around the city of Vicre. Because of a famine from squabbling counts and a drought on top of it, starvation was rampant and Vaton’s family couldn’t pay their taxes to the local lord. As they were suspected of withholding tax money from the lord, they were criminals and were dragged away as such. However, an innocent child like Vaton was didn’t belong in a cold cell. So, he was placed under the care of the Jarist priests. There, he was raised by the monks and nuns to be similar to them, but the local bishop had other plans, where most saw a hapless child, he saw a resource. So, then began Vaton’s molding into what he is today.
