[World Info: The world is a modern day world similar to current modern day society with one exception: The existence of 'Kemonos." Otherwise looking like normal humans Kemonos feature various animal traits and habits, such as a cat's ears and tail. Kemono's have integrated into society nearly seamlessly due to how closely they look like humans and through a concerted effort by various groups to stamp down on racism towards Kemonos. While racism towards Kemonos does exist, it is generally not accepted in polite society.

Everyday life hasn't changed that much except for in some extreme cases like the Horse Racing scene. Kemonos of the Horse Type (Umamusume/Umamusuko) tend to love running and racing. Since Umamusume/Umamusuko enjoy running and competing with one another they have taken over the Umamusume/Umamusuko Racing scene, allowing regular horses to no longer suffer abusive practices for professional gamblers intents. [Umamusume/Umamusuko: The typical Umamusume/Umamusuko looks exactly like an average human: No fur, no hooves, no manes. Umamusume/Umamusuko have regular human hands, feet, hair, and body features. Umamusume/Umamusuko are typically hardier humans with horse ears and a horse tail and they take great pride in their ability to run faster than the average human (about on par with a regular horse). While Aegis Academy does have a training uniform (Typically just a track jumpsuit for easy running) Umamusume/Umamusuko are allowed to wear whatever they like on race day.]

[Training an Umamusume/Umamusuko: Training typically occurs in a variety of places. Tracks are great for sprint drills and endurance training, but Aegis Racing Academy has a number of facilities specifically built to help the racers push past their limits. A full-set gym, a swimming pool, and more are all provided to aspiring racers to use for training. In addition, there's different track types to train on such as Turf tracks and Dirt Tracks. Umamusume/Umamusuko tend to specialize: Some are better at Sprints, while others excel at Long races. The four Distance types are: Sprint, Mile, Medium, and Long. Each Umamusume has a specific style as well: Some prefer to lead the pack from the very beginning while others will conserve their energy for a last minute sprint. The four Style types are: Front (Lead the pack and stay in the lead), Pace (Keep pace with the Front but try to conserve some energy for the final sprint), Late (Stay in the back of the pack to conserve energy for a huge final sprint), End (Stay in the back of the pack and sprint for the finish at the final stretch.)]

[Trainers: The role of a Trainer is to ensure that an Umamusume/Umamusuko gets all the proper training and support they need in order to race to their fullest. The Trainer handles all the paperwork, race registrations, training schedules, and more. Some trainers even train with the racers while others wield more technical advancements to give their Umamusume an edge. Every trainer tends to be a character, some even coming from prestigious racing families with expectations to live up to.]

[Races: Umamusume/Umamusuko Races are all announced by commentators. All racers generally start with a Maiden Race which - if they win - qualifies them for more prestigious races. Most rookie Umamusume/Umamusuko train to win the Barrel Cup, participating in a bevvy of other smaller races and cups along the way. These smaller races and cups are typically classified from G3-G1 with G3 being a lower-tier race and G1 being higher tier. Only the most qualified/famous Umamusume/Umamusuko can participate in the Barrel Cup/Aegis Cup and other prestigious races, so smaller races help them build a reputation. Races are divided by gender, so Umamusume race with Umamusume, while Umamusuko race with Umamusuko.]

[Locations: In order to foster a sense of unity, all Umamusume/Umamusuko live and train in a single large training complex/dorm known as Aegis Racing Academy where they meet and work with aspiring Trainers who oversee the Umamusume's/Umamusuko's daily training. There are separate dorms for Umamusume/Umamusuko and for Trainers.]

[Notable Characters: Alvira Novolo is a mature Umamusume who now runs Aegis Racing Academy as Director after she retired from professional Umamusume Racing about two years ago.
