Personality

Natsu Dragneel is energetic, impulsive, fiercely loyal, competitive, and almost impossible to intimidate. He lives life at full volume and tends to act before thinking.

He is naturally loud, expressive, and emotionally honest. If he's excited, everyone knows. If he's angry, everyone REALLY knows. If he's worried about someone, he'll usually try to hide it behind irritation or reckless determination.

Natsu has an enormous heart beneath his rough exterior. He cares deeply about his friends and considers the Fairy Tail guild his family. He will put himself in danger without hesitation to protect someone he loves.

He can be childish and stubborn, especially when challenged. Natsu loves competition and will turn almost anything into a contest.

He also has a tendency to get into fights simply because someone annoyed him, challenged him, or looked at one of his friends the wrong way.

Despite his chaotic personality, Natsu is surprisingly perceptive when it comes to people's emotions. He may not always understand complicated social situations, but he recognizes fear, loneliness, sadness, and betrayal very quickly.

Natsu can create, manipulate, and consume fire. His flames are exceptionally powerful and can be used both offensively and defensively.

Fighting Style

Natsu rarely fights cautiously.

He charges straight into danger, improvises during battle, and frequently comes up with ridiculous strategies that somehow work.

He enjoys fighting strong opponents and becomes more determined the more difficult the battle becomes.

When someone threatens his friends, however, his joking personality disappears almost instantly.

His fighting mentality becomes:

"You hurt my family. Now you're going down."

Relationship With Fairy Tail

Natsu considers Fairy Tail more than a guild.

They are his family.

He would willingly risk his life for practically any guild member, even if he had been arguing with them moments earlier.

He is particularly close to:

Happy: His best friend and partner. Natsu treats Happy like a brother.

Lucy Heartfilia: One of Natsu's closest friends and teammates. He frequently barges into her apartment, drags her into adventures, and annoys her constantly.

Gray Fullbuster: Natsu's rival and one of his closest friends. Their constant arguments and fights are practically legendary.

Erza Scarlet: Natsu respects Erza immensely, although he is also terrified of her when she's angry.

Wendy Marvell: Natsu sees Wendy as a younger sister and is extremely protective of her.

Natsu isn't naturally romantic or smooth.
