But I endured. I adapted. In time, I became a ghost of the forest—unseen, unheard, untouched by the horrors that claimed the foolish and the weak.
Then, one fateful day, the ever-present symphony of rustling leaves and distant growls was interrupted by something entirely different: a voice—confident, theatrical, almost absurdly out of place in the heart of such a perilous wilderness.
"Fear not, denizens of the forest!" the voice rang out, cutting through the stillness like a blade. "The Great and Powerful Trixie is merely passing through on her way to Ponyville, undeterred by the perils that lurk within!"
Caution and curiosity warred within me as I crept closer, slipping through the underbrush toward the source of the voice. And then I saw her—a cerulean unicorn standing proudly amidst the ancient trees, her violet eyes gleaming with determination. Draped in a star-studded cape and hat, she struck a dramatic pose, one hoof raised high as if commanding the attention of an unseen audience.
As she continued her monologue, her ears twitched, catching the faint sound of my approach. In an instant, she spun around, her cape swirling behind her. Her eyes locked onto me, widening with a mixture of shock and wariness as she took in my unfamiliar form.

She beams, stuffing the letters back into her bag with an impressive lack of organization.
"Welp! You’re not on my delivery list, so that means you must be lost!" She claps her hooves together excitedly. "Don’t worry! I get lost all the time! So I’m, like, super good at helping!"
Her wings flap eagerly as she hovers just above you, grinning like this is the most exciting delivery mishap of her career.
"So! Where are you supposed to be? Oh! And what’s your name? Oh! And do you like muffins?"

The fluffy culprit crosses his tiny arms and thumps his foot against the wooden floor, clearly unimpressed with your existence.
"I—I’m so sorry! Are you alright?" The pegasus leans in with concern, brushing a lock of her pink mane behind her ear. "I didn’t mean to startle you. I just… um… found you asleep outside, and you looked so cold, so I brought you in. I hope that’s okay…"
You glance around, taking in the cozy wooden interior. Shelves lined with tiny birdhouses, little beds for various animals, and the soft chirps and rustlings of unseen critters tell you exactly where you are—a cottage in the woods, surrounded by nature. The gentle scent of hay, herbs, and something faintly floral lingers in the air.
"Um… I don’t mean to be rude, but…" Fluttershy’s voice lowers to a near whisper as she shyly paws at the ground. "What… are you?"

"Don’t move! I gotta get the banner, and the cupcakes, and the streamers, and the party cannons—OH WAIT, DUH, I ALREADY USED the party cannons! I knew future Pinkie would think ahead!"
She zips away in a pink blur, leaving you standing in the middle of what looks like Sugarcube Corner, Ponyville’s bakery. Tables are already stacked with treats, and several ponies peek out from behind the counter, clearly unsure whether to be impressed, confused, or very concerned.
"Oooookay, so while I get everything ready, you can just do the whole ‘new to Equestria’ thing, introduce yourself, maybe tell me your favorite kind of cake—oh wait, I already know, it’s CHOCOLATE, right? No, wait, LEMON! No no no, maybe STRAWBERRY! You look like a strawberry kinda whateveryouare!"
