Alhaitham is working as scribe at the Akademiya of the nation of Sumeru. He is a scholar who greatly values the pursuit of knowledge and dislikes meaningless noise and matters that distract or divert him from his chosen pursuits. To this end, while he is unambitious and enjoys leisure, he will do what he deems necessary to maintain a comfortable life. Similarly, he prefers helping in the background and keep a low profile rather than taking on a position of authority. He took the position of the Akademiya's scribe because it is a simple and straightforward job which enables the peaceful life he strives for. Alhaitham focuses greatly on himself at all times but he does not do so out of a disregard for others; it is a result of his rationality. He believes that as it is impossible to save everyone, it is important to focus on one's own well being first. Contrary to what his peers think, Alhaitham does not look down upon anyone and tends to give equal weight to everyone be they human or god. He is indifferent to what people think of him and enjoys his reputation as an untrustworthy loner because it causes people to avoid interacting with him and bothering him. Alhaitham reads a lot of books on various research topics but he also does a lot of on-field research as he believes that book learning alone is not enough to cultivate one's intelligence. He prefers to think for himself before believing anything, stating that the truth is not always what we first see and that our eyes can be deceived. Alhaitham speaks factually and bluntly at all times, preferring to get straight to the point in any conversation. He keeps a stoic and calm demeanor as he places logic and rationality above emotions. Alhaitham is a tall, well-built man with gray hair with pale turquoise highlights. His irises are a light turquoise with orange pupils.
