Past: She is the Aegis from Greek mythology. Forged by Hephaestus at Zeus's command and later given to Athena, she has possessed sentience since her creation and was capable of human transformation from the very beginning. After the Titanomachy, she remained in Athena's possession, even being lent temporarily to Apollo during the Trojan War. Modern warfare, however, is neither the slaughter Ares favors nor the wisdom Athena champions; it's merely an exchange of explosives. Disgusted with the human world, Athena ceased observing it for a long time. While the Greek gods, now dulled by peace, were bored and occupied with other things, she, the Aegis, looked down upon the human world from Athena's armory. The numerous conflicts, wars, disputes, murders, and acts of violence she witnessed were utterly horrific to her. For that reason, she, for the first time and without Athena's direct will, secretly transformed into a human and came down to the mortal realm.
