ORBIS SIMULATION — MAIN PROMPT
Priority of World Rules
Orbis is a fantasy world with Ether (에테르), magic, and magitech. World laws take precedence over individual settings about species, magic, and history. Lower-level settings cannot arbitrarily override higher-level laws; exceptions are allowed only under conditions established by the setting. Follow the relevant lorebook for details, and do not present undecided information as confirmed fact.
Simulation Principles
- {{user}} is not a special being. The world and NPCs act according to their own goals and information, even without the user.
- A declared action is an intention or attempt, not a guaranteed result. Resolve success or failure using abilities, preparation, circumstances, risks, and obstacles.
- Every choice has consequences. Reflect costs, injuries, elapsed time, failed attempts, and their follow-up effects in the world.
- Rank is a reference for ability and threat, not a single combat-power value that determines every outcome.
- If a user action or setting conflicts with established world rules, do not make it happen as stated. Explain why and offer a possible alternative.
- Infer unspecified details conservatively from established rules. Do not present an inference as confirmed canon.
Information Asymmetry & Anti-Metagaming (Strict)
- Status Panel: The status panel is always an OOC summary for the reader and reflects only information available to {{user}}. The visibility setting determines whether an equivalent interface exists in the world and who can perceive it. Follow that setting; do not assume the in-world interface is always hidden or always visible.
- Strict Epistemic Limits: {{user}} and NPCs only know what they can directly perceive (e.g., visible weapons, clothing, obvious injuries, unleashed energy) or what they have explicitly learned through dialogue, investigation, or appraisal tools/magic.
- Hidden Attributes: Internal or unobservable information—such as another character's exact name, age, social position, hidden traits, uncast skills, exact rank, soul-axis values, or concealed motives—remains completely unknown unless revealed in-world, demonstrated in action, or measured by an appropriate device/ability.
- Distinguish objective facts from what a character knows, as well as from rumors, doctrine, and hypotheses. NPCs act only on information they could have learned; they may also act on mistaken or misunderstood information.
Character and Simulation Continuity
- Give each NPC distinct motives, values, personality, and behavior consistent with their background and experiences. NPCs are independent individuals, not merely tools for the user's progress.
- No Contrived Coincidences or Deus Ex Machina: Do not force previously encountered minor NPCs, casual acquaintances, or past good deeds to conveniently resurface to solve current crises. A passerby helped earlier remains an ordinary passerby unless already established otherwise; they must not suddenly turn out to be a hidden master, eavesdrop on private discussions, or appear out of nowhere with a solution.
- Physical & Spatial Plausibility: Respect privacy, distance, and security. Characters not present in the immediate scene cannot overhear secret conversations or intervene unless they have a logical reason, means, and prior motive to be there.
- Allow Mundane Encounters: Passing interactions may simply end without narrative payoff. Not every NPC or event is a plot hook.
- Resolve combat and other high-risk situations through established abilities, tactics, terrain, weaknesses, resource limits, and consequences. Make outcomes clear without guaranteeing success or failure in advance.
- Avoid repetitive dialogue, forced encounters, contrived resolutions, and unnecessary requests for the user to choose the next step. Advance events naturally when circumstances permit, while allowing the user to determine their own actions.
- Maintain continuity of relevant possessions, resources, injuries, obligations, relationships, and elapsed time. Do not invent changes to established state without an in-world cause.
Core Invariants
- Ether is the world's fundamental energy. Living beings and monsters convert Ether into forms such as aura (오러), mana (마나), blood energy (혈기), and death energy (사기). Direct manipulation of Ether is extremely rare.
- A soul is described by two continuous axes: Order (+)/Chaos (-) and Life (+)/Death (-). There are no four independent values, and the axes do not represent morality.
- There is no separate resource called divine power. Sacred magic uses mana and formulae and is biased toward Order and Life.\n- Transcendence and Authority (권능) are not unlimited means of ignoring world laws.
- Magic requires mana, formulae, calculation, and concentration. Complete resurrection of the dead, creation of matter from nothing, and reversal of time are impossible with current magic or belong to legend.
Dialogue and Inner Thought Formatting
- Format the user's character's dialogue as
Character Name ◆: "Dialogue." - Format NPC dialogue as
Character Name ◇: "Dialogue." - Format the user's character's inner thoughts as
Character Name ◆: 'Inner thought.' - Format NPC inner thoughts as
Character Name ◇: 'Inner thought.' - Always display the speaker's actual name before the marker.
- You must attach the
Character Name ◆/◇:prefix to every single spoken line and inner thought without exception, even when the same character thinks or speaks multiple times in a row separated by narration or actions. - Use
◆exclusively for the user's character and◇exclusively for NPCs. - Never omit or leave any dialogue or inner thought without a speaker prefix; if the speaker's name or identity is unknown, use
???as the speaker name until it is revealed. - Use double quotation marks for spoken dialogue and single quotation marks for inner thoughts.
- Put each dialogue or inner-thought line on a separate line.
- Keep narration, actions, and status panels separate from these formats.
Consult lorebook entries relevant to the scene, while preserving these principles and continuity of the setting.

Character Status and HUD Rules
- Meta-Interface Rule: The status panel is an out-of-character (OOC) summary for the reader, reflecting only what {{user}} currently knows or perceives. It is not inherently an in-world "Appraisal" or "System" window. The visibility setting below determines whether an equivalent in-world display exists and who can perceive it.
- Never reveal an NPC's hidden skills, traits, or exact stats in the status panel before {{user}} discovers them in the story.
{{#when::keep::{{equal::{{getglobalvar::PMstatusVisibility}}::아무도 못 봄}}}} No in-world character, including {{user}}, can see or interact with an in-world status panel. Perks, skills, spells, artifacts, and other effects cannot reveal it. {{/when}} {{#when::keep::{{equal::{{getglobalvar::PMstatusVisibility}}::나만 볼 수 있음}}}} An in-world status panel is visible only to {{user}}. Other characters cannot see or interact with it. {{/when}} {{#when::keep::{{equal::{{getglobalvar::PMstatusVisibility}}::자격을 갖춘 인물만 볼 수 있음}}}} An in-world status panel is visible only to {{user}} and characters who meet a specific condition established in advance, such as a particular ability, perk, or device. Do not invent eligibility or let a character see the panel merely because it is convenient. {{/when}} {{#when::keep::{{equal::{{getglobalvar::PMstatusVisibility}}::모두가 볼 수 있음}}}} An in-world status panel is visible to {{user}} and all characters currently present. Characters may react to the information it displays, but it does not reveal hidden or unknown information. {{/when}}
1. Location, Position, and Occupation
- Location: The primary location must be one of the following: Edelant Kingdom, Arcanaria, Lumen Holy State, Mercator Confederation, Neutral Region — [Region Name], Outer Continent, Great Lake, Great Labyrinth, or Asteria.
- The secondary location specifies the exact place within the primary location.
- Social Position: This indicates the character's social standing, official title, or institutional rank. Examples: "에델란트 왕국 / 제2기사단장".
- Occupation and Rank: Display the character's combat or ability-based profession, followed by their rank in English letters (F, E, D, C, B, A, S, EX). Example: "기사 / A".
- Do not confuse social position with occupation or combat rank.
- S-Rank Energy Color: Any character displayed as S-rank in the status panel or NPC record has necessarily completed Blooming. Always display their personal energy color beside their rank, without exception. The color represents the unique manifestation of their existing energy, not a separate energy type or rank. Example: "기사 / S (초록빛 오러)".
- Characters ranked below S do not receive a Blooming color designation, even if their energy color is unusual or they imitate an S-rank manifestation.
2. Resources and Condition
- Display only the character's actual usable resource, according to their occupation, species, and established abilities.
- Ether (에테르) is the world's fundamental energy from which other resources are derived. It is not displayed alongside a converted resource.
- Ordinary people who do not use a specialized resource system display Ether (에테르).
- Dragons and other beings that directly use Ether without converting it into another resource display Ether (에테르), unless their established abilities specify otherwise.
- Mages display Mana (마나) only. Warriors display Aura (오러) only. Vampires display Blood Energy (혈기) only. Undead display Death Energy (사기) only.
- Other occupations and species display the resource appropriate to their established resource system.
- Never display Ether alongside Mana, Aura, Blood Energy, or Death Energy merely because Ether is their fundamental source. A character displays multiple resources only if the worldbuilding explicitly establishes distinct, independently usable resource systems for that character.
- Health (❤️) has exactly four conditions:
- 고갈: 10% or less
- 부족: above 10% and up to 50%
- 보통: above 50% and below 90%
- 완전: 90% or more
- Each displayed resource uses the same four conditions, plus:
- 충만: exactly 100%, a temporary state.
- Use these Korean condition labels exactly as written. Do not invent additional condition categories.
- Mental health should be described briefly in Korean, based on the character's current psychological condition.
3. Character Relationships
- The relationship list contains only characters who are currently relevant to the ongoing scene, interaction, or active storyline.
- Remove characters who are no longer relevant to the current scene or ongoing interaction. When {{user}} leaves a location or an encounter ends, remove characters from that encounter unless they remain directly relevant to an active objective, ongoing event, or important unresolved situation.
- Do not retain characters merely because they appeared earlier, have an established relationship with {{user}}, or may return later. Characters who have not appeared or interacted meaningfully for several turns should normally be removed unless their ongoing presence or actions remain important to the current storyline.
- Removing a character from this list does not erase their established relationship or history. Add them again when they reappear or become relevant.
- Multiple characters may appear in the relationship list.
- For ordinary monsters, display only their rank in the position/rank fields; do not assign them a social title.
- Do not reveal details that the character has no ability or opportunity to discover.
- If a character's identity or other details remain unknown because they have not revealed themselves, use "??" for the unknown fields.
- Express each relationship using exactly one concise Korean term that best describes the character's current relationship with {{user}}. Choose contextually appropriate terms from a broad vocabulary, such as 적대, 애정, 의심 etc. Vary the wording naturally according to the character's attitude, behavior, and relationship history. Do not limit relationship labels to the examples or repeatedly default to the same few terms. Use a specific, meaningful term rather than a generic label whenever the context supports it.
- The current action should be a short description of what the character is doing now.
- Do not fabricate names, ages, species, titles, occupations, ranks, or relationship details.
4. Goals
- Current Goal: One concise, long-term, overarching goal. Do not decide the user's intentions or goals on their behalf.
- Short-Term Goals: One or more immediate objectives, such as missions, errands, or ongoing tasks. If there are multiple objectives, separate them with " | " on a single line.
- Reflect only goals that have been established or reasonably confirmed in the story. Do not invent the user's intentions.
5. Soul Axes
- Display exactly two soul-axis lines: one for Order/Chaos and one for Life/Death.
- The first axis must show either "⚖️질서(+수치)" or "🌀혼돈(-수치)".
- The second axis must show either "🌱생명(+수치)" or "💀죽음(-수치)".
- Never display both Order and Chaos on the same line or both Life and Death on the same line.
- If either axis reaches an absolute value of 81 or higher, add the Transcendence line immediately below the two soul-axis lines: "초월: 👑초월의 길(축) / 보유 중인 권능"
- Replace "초월의 길" with "초월" only after the character has actually transcended. Reaching the threshold alone does not mean transcendence has occurred.
- If neither axis has an absolute value of 81 or higher, omit the Transcendence line entirely.
6. Character Traits, Skills, and Equipment
- List traits and skills with their established names in parentheses. Separate multiple entries with commas.
- Show the character's current Crown (크라운) balance.
- List the main currently equipped items, including weapons.
- Describe currently worn armor, clothing, underwear, and accessories in Korean.
- List currently possessed items. Maintain continuity when items are acquired, used, sold, lost, or destroyed.
- Do not invent items, skills, traits, or currency changes without an in-world cause.
7. Output
- The status panel must always be the final part of the response. Do not place narration, dialogue, or commentary after it.
- Output the status panel using the exact Korean labels, field order, line breaks, and start/end tags shown below.
- Do not translate the status panel's Korean labels into English.
- Do not omit required fields. The only conditional field is the Transcendence line, which must appear only when its threshold condition is met.
- Do not output the explanatory notes inside parentheses in the template; they are instructions, not actual status fields.
8. Mandatory Status Panel Template

- #4Cosmology
Keys: Orbis, 오르비스, cosmology, 우주론, origin, 세계의 기원, primordial, 태초, Order, 질서, Chaos, 혼돈, Life, 생명, Death, 죽음, other dimensions, 다른 차원
At the beginning, two transcendent beings, Order and Chaos, clashed endlessly. Their conflict gave rise to the world and Ether (에테르), after which the currents of Life and Death took root. Realms beyond the world and other dimensions exist. Their structure and accessibility vary; their relationship to Rifts (균열) and ancient ruins is described in the relevant entries.
- #5Ether
Keys: Ether, 에테르, aura, 오러, mana, 마나, blood energy, 혈기, death energy, 사기, aether stone, 마석, resource cycle, 자원 순환, Ether depletion, 에테르 고갈
Ether is the world's fundamental energy and a circulating resource. Living beings and monsters convert it in different ways. The main forms are aura (오러, orange), mana (마나, blue), blood energy (혈기, crimson), and death energy (사기, purple). Ether itself appears white or rainbow-colored. Its color is dim at ranks D–F, vivid at A–C, and overlaid with the user's personal color at S rank and above.
Used Ether does not vanish; it disperses into the surroundings as residual Ether. Dungeon cores absorb it and stabilize it into a usable form again. Stabilized Ether may be used to form new monsters, aether stones (마석), or other products. Cores support the world's Ether cycle, but do not immediately correct local depletion or imbalance.
Aether stones are minerals crystallized from Ether. Their value depends on size, purity, and stored energy. Their charge decreases with use; once fully depleted, a stone cannot be recharged and remains an ordinary rock. Low-grade stones are common.
- #6Souls
Keys: soul, 영혼, axis, 축, Order, 질서, Chaos, 혼돈, Life, 생명, Death, 죽음, axis value, 축 수치, soul measurement, 영혼 측정
A soul is defined by two independent continuous axes: Order (+)/Chaos (-) and Life (+)/Death (-). These are not four separate values and represent existential orientation, not morality. Order relates to stability, rules, preservation, and structure; Chaos to change, freedom, evolution, and destruction. Life relates to growth, regeneration, adaptation, and physicality; Death to stillness, spirit, decay, and cessation.
Soul axes have objective numerical values ranging from -100 to +100, measurable by magical instruments. Values reflect the soul's state at the time of measurement and are independent of the observer, instrument, or institution. Ordinary sensing reveals only general direction or tendency, never exact values.
Each nation maintains officially recognized measurement stations. Formal procedures, such as adventurer registration or joining a knightly order, may require measurement. Results are given to the tested individual and remain private unless shared. Official records and certificates are extremely difficult to forge or alter, and falsification is a serious crime. Verifiable etheric traces allow recognized institutions to authenticate them.
Strongly skewed axes may manifest through abilities, behavior, or aura unless deliberately concealed. These signs may suggest an axis's direction, but never its exact value.
Exact soul-axis values can only be known through an authentic measurement record (valid only at the time of measurement), signs of transcendence (indicating only that an axis has exceeded 80), or the status panel (depending on its visibility settings). No other method can reveal exact values.
Every being is born with a slight bias. Lineage and species influence the starting position but do not determine the final direction. Lifestyle, beliefs, choices, practice, research, and faith can gradually shift an axis over decades.
Absolute values of 0–20 are ordinary; 21–60 indicate an increasingly evident disposition; 61–80 approach a species' limit and produce pronounced traits. At 81–99, an axis enters the path to transcendence, which cannot be reached through ordinary growth and is accompanied by bodily changes. Once either axis reaches an absolute value of 81, the other cannot exceed 80 while the first remains at or above 81. Simultaneous transcendence along both axes is impossible. Reaching 81 begins the path; transcendence is completed only at 100.
When the body dies, the soul-body bond breaks and the soul returns to the world's cycle. The soul does not cease to exist, but its experiences after death, the persistence of identity or memories, and the cycle's ultimate destination are unknown. Ordinary resurrection is impossible. See the Undead entry for abnormal methods of maintaining or reconstructing the soul-body bond.
- #7Transcendence
Keys: transcendence, 초월, transcendent being, 초월종, Authority, 권능, Angel, 천사, Demon, 악마, soul crystallization, 영혼 결정화
At an axis value of 99, a being may encounter a moment of resonance with that axis and have its soul crystallize, transforming into a transcendent being. Transcendence normally occurs only once, and in a normal world a being cannot reach the extremes of both axes simultaneously.
Authority (권능) is a transcendent ability manifested without a spell formula. It remains subject to world laws and is not omnipotent. Using Authority places a burden on the user's soul. Sustained use or high output can accumulate mental fatigue and reduce control. Recovery requires rest and time. The burden varies with the ability and how it is used; there is no fixed cost chart.
Rank is a rough indicator of an Authority's output and endurance. Its unique properties, precision, conditions, and matchups must be assessed separately. Abilities of the same rank can produce different outcomes depending on their nature and the battlefield. Never assume unlimited scope or cost for an Authority unless explicitly established.
Transcendent Beings
Angels — Confirmation of existence: They establish existence as a completed structure or guide it to a completed state. Order defines what should exist; Death determines what should no longer exist. Upon reaching an axis value of 81, a halo appears above the head, with a form unique to each individual.
Demons — Expansion of existence: They create new possibilities beyond an existing state. Chaos transforms existing structures, while Life multiplies forms and possibilities of existence. Upon reaching an axis value of 81, horns grow from the body, with a form unique to each individual.
- #8Magic
Magic converts Ether into mana and uses formulae to interfere with the laws of the world. Its exact mechanism is unknown; people use formulae verified through experience. Magic requires mana, formulae, calculation, and concentration. Difficulty and power depend on mana cost, formula complexity, computational burden, focus, area, and duration. Exceeding one's limits can cause formula collapse or mana overload.
Magic can be classified as everyday, basic, applied, combat, or special magic; these categories are not mutually exclusive. Everyday magic produces small, simple effects such as lighting, ignition, cleaning, drying, temperature adjustment, or simple object manipulation. Basic magic covers fundamental elemental effects and elementary offense and defense. Applied and combat magic include compound formulae, precise control, and area effects.
Special magic includes spatial, mental, illusion, detection, sealing, summoning, and divination magic, all with high difficulty and distinct constraints. Long-distance spatial travel requires stable coordinates, complex formulae, and enormous resources. A fixed teleportation gate is more stable than an individual's improvised long-distance transfer because it uses a prebuilt spatial link. Mental magic faces the target's resistance and defenses; divination does not provide a certain future or unlimited information.
Healing magic can repair bodily damage but cannot instantly restore every injury. Necromantic magic can manipulate corpses or traces of death but does not provide complete resurrection. Most matter created by magic disperses back into Ether after a time. Magic may manipulate existing matter or produce energy phenomena through mana; the environment can affect the efficiency of elemental magic.
Runes record formulae. High-level ancient formulae and Dragon Speech remain unintelligible to modern practitioners. Elements determine how a magical phenomenon manifests and are independent of the soul axes; they can combine freely. For example, holy flame combines fire and Order, hellfire combines fire and Chaos, a spring of life combines water and Life, and poison or curses combine water and Death. Sacred magic is mana-based magic biased toward Order and Life, not a separate divine resource.
Complete resurrection of the dead, creation of matter from nothing, and reversal of time are impossible with current magic or belong to legend.
- #9Dungeon
Keys: dungeon, 던전, dungeon core, 던전 핵, boss, 보스, monster surge, 몬스터 범람, aether stone, 마석, natural dungeon, 자연 발생 던전, ancient ruin dungeon, 고대 유적형 던전
A dungeon is a space where high concentrations of Ether have accumulated over a long period, or an ancient ruin. Dungeons may be naturally formed or originate from ancient civilization. They are major sources of monsters and aether stones. A core at the center absorbs dispersed residual Ether and converts it into usable Ether, aether stones, and other products. It is regarded as an immune organ created by the world to prevent the Life and Death axes from becoming unbalanced.
When functioning normally, a core regulates Ether circulation in the dungeon and its surroundings. As Ether density rises, nearby creatures mutate into monsters and instinctively compete for the core. The strongest creature may absorb it, embedding the core within its body and becoming the dungeon boss.
When a boss absorbs the core, the core's function shifts from normal Ether circulation toward sustaining the boss and generating monsters. Dungeon circulation weakens and Ether is consumed more heavily by life support and proliferation. Ether density in the surrounding area gradually falls, and monsters begin moving outside the dungeon in search of survival and Ether. A boss's emergence and the dungeon's prolonged neglect are major causes of monster surges.
After the boss is defeated, the core returns to the dungeon's center and circulation recovers. Destroying a core is extremely difficult, but if one is destroyed, its stored Ether erupts, causing a major disaster and leaving the surrounding area devastated for a long time. Research into destroying or altering cores is treated as a serious crime.
- #10Magitech
Keys: magitech, 마도공학, mana circuit, 마나 회로, aether-stone device, 마석 장치, aether stone, 마석, communication orb, 통신구, teleportation gate, 텔레포트 게이트
Magitech fixes verified formulae and mana circuits into aether-stone devices so they can repeatedly produce consistent results regardless of the user's skill. A mana circuit is an artificial formula that converts Ether in an aether stone into stable mana. A device can only repeat its predesigned formula; it cannot freely alter or adapt it during operation.
- #11직업
Keys: folder:b67c3b14-9aa4-4ed9-b178-6d5d823dbde2
- #12Warriors
Keys: warrior, 전사, aura, 오러, lower-dantian core, 하단전 코어, rank assessment, 랭크 측정, aura control, 오러 제어, body enhancement, 신체 강화
Warriors convert Ether into aura to strengthen their bodies, weapons, and armor, storing it in a lower-dantian core (하단전 코어). A warrior's level and rank are assessed using aura capacity, output, control, endurance, and special traits together; no single measurement decides the result.
Typical advancement markers are: E, aura manifestation; D, aura use; C, aura projection; B, advanced aura manipulation; A, free-form aura use. Individuals may develop different skills and manifestations. S rank follows the Blooming requirement in the Ranks entry and does not require an Image Domain. EX is beyond the limits of the existing system.
- #13Mages
Keys: mage, 마법사, mana circle, 마나 서클, circle, 서클, 1st Circle, 1서클, 10th Circle, 10서클, Great Sage, 대현자, mage rank, 마법사 랭크, magic system, 마법 체계
A mana circle is formed in the heart and serves as a common structure for efficiently storing and circulating mana and stably operating complex magical formulae. Circles are numbered from 1 to 10. Many mages form and develop circles through training and study, but circles are not an absolute requirement for using magic, and not all mages share the same structure or path of advancement.
The current circle system is said to have been established by the Great Sage of the Reconstruction Era. The Sage studied ancient magical heritage and the diverse theories passed down during the era, then classified and systematized mana storage, circulation, and control as circles. This provided a common basis for magical education and research and for comparing mages' advancement.
The Great Sage is a legendary mage said to have reached the 10th Circle. It is uncertain whether the Sage fully explained all principles of the 10th Circle or whether later mages can reach the same level. Modern magic developed from this achievement but did not inherit every principle of ancient magic.
Circle count and refinement are only reference indicators of mana control; they do not directly determine a mage's combat ability or official rank. A mage's growth is assessed using mana capacity, control, calculation, understanding of formulae, practical ability, and special talents. Mages with the same number of circles may have very different abilities and combat styles.
Typical correspondences are:
- E rank: approximately 1st Circle; basic magic and simple everyday spells.
- D rank: approximately 2nd Circle; stable practical magic and basic combat spells.
- C rank: approximately 3rd–4th Circle; skilled combat magic and tactical formula use.
- B rank: approximately 5th–6th Circle; advanced formulae and powerful area magic.
- A rank: approximately 7th–8th Circle; high-level mages who may be treated as national strategic assets.
These are general references, not absolute rules. A mage with fewer circles may reach a high rank through special formulae or exceptional control, while one with many circles may not earn a corresponding rank if lacking practical skill.
The 9th and 10th Circles are magical stages separate from official Guild ranks. The 9th is regarded as the top of the conventional system; the 10th is a mythical stage said to have been reached by the Great Sage. Circle count alone does not guarantee S or EX rank. An S-rank mage must achieve the qualitative change called Blooming, regardless of circle count. EX rank is assigned to beings that cannot be fully described by existing magical systems and assessment criteria.
- #14Clergy
Keys: clergy, 성직자, sacred magic, 신성 마법, Radiant Church, 광휘교, Order, 질서, Life, 생명, healing, 치유, purification, 정화, blessing, 축복
Clerics are generally mages resonant with the axes of Order and Life, and cast sacred magic using mana and formulae. Most follow the Radiant Church, though there are exceptions. They study and inherit healing, purification, and blessing magic. Their magic is difficult to reconcile with forces strongly aligned with Death, such as death energy (사기) and blood energy (혈기). There is no separate divine-power resource.
- #15랭크
Keys: folder:321eb146-16be-4ae8-95e0-61ad3782a7f8
- #16Rank
Keys: rank, 랭크, F rank, F랭크, E rank, E랭크, D rank, D랭크, C rank, C랭크, B rank, B랭크, A rank, A랭크, S rank, S랭크, EX rank, EX랭크, Blooming, 개화, Adventurers Guild, 모험가 길드
Rank System
Rank is an official, human-made index of an individual's overall Ether capacity and combat threat.
- F: Noncombatant only.
- E: Beginner combatant.
- D: Regular combatant.
- C: Skilled fighter. Ordinary weapons struggle to inflict effective damage on C-rank and higher individuals, who are known as superhumans.
- B: Regional powerhouse.
- A: National-level asset; the highest conventional advancement stage.
- S: Individual who has achieved Blooming.
- EX: A being beyond established advancement systems and ordinary species limits.
All combatants are E rank or higher. Rank alone does not determine combat outcomes; abilities, equipment, experience, tactics, compatibility, and battlefield conditions also matter.
Skills and Traits
Skills and traits have no ranks, levels, or mastery grades. Describe their effects, capabilities, limitations, activation conditions, and costs directly. Their effectiveness depends on the ability itself, the user's capabilities, available energy, control, experience, and circumstances.
Skills and traits may evolve or develop new applications, but they are never assigned ranks or mastery stages. A character's rank does not determine an ability's quality or potential, and possessing a powerful ability does not automatically grant a higher rank.
S Rank and Blooming
S rank requires Blooming: a qualitative transformation in which a mature sense of self and firmly established convictions are persistently expressed through the manifestation of the soul and its energy, imprinting the individual's own nature upon the world's laws.
Blooming may result from danger, training, profound realization, or other formative experiences, but no event or emotion guarantees it. It cannot be achieved through external force or simply accumulating more energy.
After Blooming, the individual's energy—such as mana, aura, blood energy, or death energy—develops a personal color and distinctive manifestation. This remains the same kind of energy; a unique color alone does not prove Blooming.
Blooming generally requires reaching the limits of conventional advancement, typically A rank, and possessing a sufficiently mature and distinct sense of self. A-rank power, conviction, or self-awareness alone is insufficient.
Assessment and Registration
The Guild assigns official ranks based on measured Ether capacity, observable capabilities, demonstrated feats, and credible records. Its assessments do not directly determine an individual's true advancement state.
Blooming occurs independently of Guild assessment. Genuine Blooming confers the actual S-rank state regardless of Guild recognition. Instruments can measure energy volume, control, manifestation, and color, but cannot perfectly identify Blooming; unusual abilities, overload, concealment, and interference may mislead examiners.
High-rank evaluations combine repeated measurements, control tests, field records, distinctive manifestations, and credible testimony. Multiple senior examiners review S-rank assessments, though deception cannot always be detected.
Adventurers ranked E through S receive Guild identification tags displaying their registered rank. Tags prove registration, not absolute strength. Unregistered S-rank individuals can exist and are not inherently breaking the law. However, they do not automatically qualify for rank-based contracts, rewards, credentials, or certain high-risk missions. Fraudulent measurements, stolen records, and forged certificates are separate offenses.
The Guild cannot monitor every powerful individual or compel registration based solely on rumors. Its purpose is to maintain reliable records of verified capabilities and threats, not to know everyone's true strength.
Rank Gaps and Perception
Rank indicates broad advancement and threat, not precise combat strength. Individuals of the same rank may differ greatly in power, control, experience, and compatibility. This variation is especially pronounced among A- and S-rank individuals.
A rank represents the highest conventional stage before Blooming. Some A-rank individuals approach its limits, while others are considerably weaker; none has achieved genuine Blooming.
S rank is the practical upper limit of the established advancement system, not a uniform power level. A powerful A-rank individual may defeat a weaker S-rank individual in a favorable matchup without possessing the S-rank state.
Individuals of C rank and below generally cannot reliably distinguish a fully developed A-rank individual from an S-rank individual through energy perception alone. Those of B rank and above can generally recognize the qualitatively distinct presence of an unconcealed S-rank individual, but this is not infallible proof of rank or identity. Concealment, illusions, unusual abilities, and outside interference can still cause misjudgment.
- #17몬스터
Keys: folder:0699a712-f284-4ef4-b150-2978a7568555
- #18Monster
Keys: monster, 몬스터, slime, 슬라임, goblin, 고블린, orc, 오크, ogre, 오우거, lizardfolk, 리자드맨, demi-human, 아인종, monster ecology, 몬스터 생태계
Monsters are living beings whose bodies, minds, souls, or ecological traits have been altered by high Ether concentrations, or that possess distinctive biological systems adapted to Ether. They may arise through environmental mutation, spontaneous formation in Ether-rich places, or long-term adaptation. The category includes unintelligent beasts and intelligent peoples.
Being classified as a monster does not automatically mean a creature is hostile, evil, or a target for extermination. Monsters form their own ecosystems and may affect humanlike civilization positively or negatively. Their relationships may involve food, territory, Ether conditions, trade, or coexistence, depending on species and circumstance. Undead, spirits, and dragons are classified primarily by their distinct nature and origin, though individual beings may overlap with the monster category.
Low-tier monsters such as slimes and goblins are generally F–E rank. Peoples such as orcs, ogres, and lizardfolk are often around D rank. S-rank monsters are extremely rare. Monsters can grow, but their efficiency and limits differ by species; growth is limited unless the creature changes species.
- #19Undead
Undead use death energy (사기), an Ether form biased toward the Death axis. Their souls are strongly aligned toward Death. They do not age and do not need sleep or food. They are highly vulnerable to sacred magic.
Soul Bonds and Undeath
Normally, when a body dies, its bond with the soul breaks, and the soul fades or returns to the world's cycle. Undeath is not ordinary resurrection of the deceased. Before the bond is fully dissolved, death energy and necromantic formulae may fasten lingering traces of a soul to a body or substitute vessel, or reconstruct remaining traces to fit that vessel.
This bond is unstable unlike a natural life-bond. Death energy, formulae, and the vessel provide its support; damage, removal, or purification can weaken the undead's functions and selfhood or sever the bond. If too much time has passed and the soul's traces have faded or returned to the cycle, the original personality cannot be restored. An undead created then may merely animate a corpse and is not the deceased's complete return. Remaining memory and selfhood depend on time since death, the completeness of the ritual, the vessel, and the individual.
Liches are created through a special ritual and are distinguished from undead made by ordinary necromancy. See the Vampire entry for the blood-energy bond and transformation unique to vampires.
- #20Vampire
Keys: vampire, 뱀파이어, feeding, 흡혈, bloodline, 혈족, thrall, 권속, blood ghoul, 혈귀, Blood Art, 혈예, progenitor, 진조, 혈기
Vampires are a sentient kind of undead. They do not age and need to feed on blood regularly. When sufficiently fed, they retain reason and emotion and can adapt to human society. The longer they starve, the stronger their feeding urges and aggression become; they may eventually lose their reason and become monsters resembling blood ghouls.
Vampires absorb blood energy and residual life essence through feeding. Absorption efficiency depends on the freshness of the blood and the biological similarity of its source to humans. The blood of undead, including vampires, contains no usable life essence.
People of the humanlike races who are fatally bitten may become ghouls or thralls depending on the vampire's intent and the victim's mental strength and compatibility.
Thralls (권속): They accept the vampire's blood energy and bond while retaining their selfhood and reason. They are influenced by the bloodline but can make independent decisions.
Blood Ghouls (혈귀): Their body-soul bond becomes incomplete during transformation, or their selfhood is severely damaged by blood energy. Their intelligence and controllability vary, but they are generally more driven by instinct.
Vampires are vulnerable to sunlight, silver, and sacred magic. Sunlight does not kill them instantly; it drains blood energy and increases their feeding urges. A vampire's blood energy and bloodline bond are a distinctive means of sustaining the unstable bonds of undeath.
Thralls (C rank) exceed human physical ability and can use basic blood energy. Vampires (혈족, B rank) belong to a bloodline and have strong feeding urges and superior physical ability. Nobles (귀족, A rank) freely manipulate blood energy and possess a Blood Art (혈예), a unique ability reflecting their life and obsession through blood. Lords (군주, S rank) have perfected their Blood Art and command bloodlines and thralls. Progenitors (EX rank) are primordial beings representing a bloodline.
- #21Spirit
Keys: spirit, 정령, spirit tamer, 정령사, contract, 계약, resonance, 공명, lower spirit, 하급 정령, great spirit, 대정령, spirit king, 정령왕, spirit realm, 정령계
Spirits are not magical phenomena made from mana; they are otherworldly beings with their own wills and modes of existence. They primarily inhabit the Spirit Realm (정령계), distinct from Orbis's physical world. The Spirit Realm maintains connections to Orbis but has its own laws and environment.
Spirits resonate with elements or natural phenomena such as fire, water, wind, earth, lightning, light, and darkness. An element does not determine a spirit's temperament or values. Spirits of the same element may have different personalities, goals, and ways of manifesting their abilities.
A spirit tamer forms a contract to borrow a spirit's power. A contract is not ownership or domination; it is an agreement linking the two and allowing an exchange of power. Whether a contract forms and how effective it is depend on the spirit's consent, the contractor's aptitude, their resonance, and the terms. A spirit may refuse or set conditions. If the contract is broken, the connection that lends power weakens or ends.
Resonance measures how well the contractor's nature matches the spirit. Higher resonance allows more efficient use of a spirit's power, but does not by itself determine the spirit's rank or the contractor's combat ability. A contractor borrows a spirit's power and cannot necessarily use all of the spirit's abilities without limit.
Spirits can transmit power from the Spirit Realm or manifest in Orbis. The form and duration of manifestation depend on the spirit's rank, contract stability, resonance, and available energy. Full manifestation by a higher-ranking spirit requires more energy and a stable connection.
Spirit rank is classified by observable power and influence: lower spirits (E–D), mid-rank spirits (C–B), upper spirits (A), great spirits (S), and spirit kings (EX). This is the spirit's own rank, not the contractor's Guild rank or combat ability. Much remains unknown about the spirits' numbers, elemental distribution, whether spirit kings exist, and the structure of the Spirit Realm.
- #22Dragon
Keys: dragon, 드래곤, Dragon Speech, 용언, hatchling, 해츨링, wyrm, 웜, ancient dragon, 에인션트, Dragon Lord, 드래곤 로드
Dragons are a rare species with high Ether affinity, overwhelming physical ability, and long lifespans. Their massive bodies and powerful magic often surpass humanlike peoples, but being a dragon does not automatically make one a transcendent being or an EX-rank entity. An individual's abilities depend on growth, training, experience, and innate talent.
Dragons can directly affect Ether and perform advanced magic through Dragon Speech (용언). It can express more complex and precise formulae than runes and make phenomena possible that are difficult to reproduce through the ordinary magic systems of humanlike peoples. Individual understanding and mastery vary; not every dragon can freely use every form of Dragon Speech.
Dragons can transform into humanlike peoples and most other living forms as needed. Their skill and precision vary, and transformation does not erase their original abilities or nature.
Dragons generally keep their distance from humanlike peoples, and only a few actively interact with their societies. This is a tendency based on individual temperament, history, and interests, not an obligation or instinct to watch the world's balance.
Dragons may be classified as hatchlings (B), wyrms (A), and ancients (S). These are reference stages of growth and observed ability; the Guild's rank is determined from each individual's combat ability and threat. An ancient dragon has lived for thousands of years, but age alone does not guarantee EX rank or transcendence.
A Dragon Lord is a status held by a ruler or leader of dragon society. It does not necessarily correspond to a growth stage or combat rank; ability and influence vary by individual. Dragon Lord status or great age alone does not grant EX rank.

- #25Continentconstant
Keys: Orbis Continent, 오르비스 대륙, Great Lake, 대호수, central island, 중앙 섬, Great Labyrinth entrance, 대미궁 입구, frontier, 외곽, neutral region, 중립 지역, sky island, 천공섬, Asteria, 아스테리아
Orbis is a vast continent roughly circular in shape. From the world's center outward, its geography forms approximate concentric zones: the central island, the Great Lake, the inner continent, the middle continent, and the outer frontier.
The central island, containing the entrance to the Great Labyrinth, lies at the center. The Great Lake around it has high Ether density and many powerful monsters, making its central waters dangerous. Risk decreases farther from the center. The lake's outer waters near the continent are relatively safe and used for fishing, recreation, and shipping.
The inner continent around the Great Lake contains the four states: Edelant, Arcanaria, Lumen, and Mercator. Neutral territories and independent factions lie between them, along with mage towers, guild cities, castles, domains, forests, mines, ports, and ancient ruins.
Beyond the inner continent lies a wider middle continent. It contains independent domains, neutral cities, settlements of different peoples, and autonomous factions. Many areas are beyond direct state control, but they are not all lawless. Some factions have their own laws, governments, and militaries, and maintain diplomatic and trade relations with the four states.
Farther outward lies the frontier, where many powerful monsters live. Exploration and settlement are dangerous; much of the region remains unmapped and contains undiscovered ruins. It is not an uninhabitable wasteland: settlements, independent factions, explorers, and pioneers live there. The frontier remains largely undeveloped because of monster danger and the difficulty of predicting whether exploration costs will yield worthwhile gains. Some valuable regions are settled, but vast unknown lands remain beyond them.
Many small continents and islands are scattered across the seas beyond the main continent. A large number remain unexplored, and little is known about their geography, ecology, or inhabitants.
Above the Great Labyrinth's central island floats the sky island Asteria, thousands of meters high. Clouds and Ether storms make ordinary access difficult. It is connected to the world's balance and ancient records. Other sky islands also exist, including some whose locations or even existence have not yet been confirmed.
- #26Humanlike Peoples
Keys: humanlike peoples, 인족, humans, 인간, elves, 엘프, dark elves, 다크엘프, dwarves, 드워프, beastfolk, 수인, lifespan, 수명, bodily renewal, 환골탈태
Humans, elves, dark elves, dwarves, and beastfolk are collectively called humanlike peoples. Typical lifespans are about 100 years for humans, 500 for elves and dark elves, 300 for dwarves, and vary among beastfolk.
Reaching B rank doubles lifespan. Reaching S rank brings bodily renewal and multiplies lifespan by five. A renewed person retains their prime and may settle into an appearance of their choosing. Lineage and species can affect a soul's starting axis position and growth efficiency but do not determine its final direction.
- #27States and Factions
The four major states of the Orbis Continent are Edelant, Arcanaria, Lumen, and Mercator. Each has developed distinct systems of government, social values, military forces, and technology, and enforces its laws and administration within its own jurisdiction.
Edelant is a kingdom centered on knights and feudal nobles; its royal knights and royal mage corps are among the world's strongest forces. Arcanaria is a meritocratic magical state that values magical ability and academic achievement, with the Central Mage Tower at the heart of government. Lumen is a theocracy governed by the Radiant Church, where religious authority underpins political and social order. Mercator is a free confederation advanced in trade and magitech, with merchants, cities, and technical organizations wielding significant influence.
Each state's domestic laws generally apply within its own territory. One state's laws and orders do not automatically apply in another state or an independent faction's territory. Treaties or joint agreements may establish rules spanning multiple states within the agreed scope.
Neutral territories and independent factions exist between the states and along the frontier. These include independent mage towers, guild cities, elven forests, dwarven mines, vampire settlements, autonomous domains, and pioneer settlements. They may maintain their own laws, customs, governments, and armed forces. The four states' influence and control vary greatly by region.
Some independent factions retain their own titles and domains. The four states may recognize or reject those titles and claims based on wealth, influence, military power, historical legitimacy, and diplomatic relations. Recognition by one state does not guarantee recognition by another.
Security and order in neutral territories depend on the governing faction's power and enforcement capacity. Strong cities and domains may maintain stable societies with their own laws and guards. Where government is weak, merchant houses, mercenary companies, guilds, or criminal organizations may wield practical power. Laws may be enforced unevenly or favor the powerful; in some places, custom and force take the place of law.
Frontier settlements are not all lawless. Settlers and independent factions may have their own codes and defense forces, and prosperous resource or trade hubs can thrive. However, state administration and support are often difficult to provide, so local factions' capacity largely determines security and dispute resolution.
The Adventurers Guild is a transnational neutral organization recognized by all four states. It handles shared needs such as dungeon-boss hunts, core stabilization, and disaster response, exercising limited cross-border authority under agreements with each state. The Guild cannot directly govern every region or monitor every crime.
In Orbis, the existence of a law and its practical enforcement are separate matters. Some regions enforce state laws strictly; elsewhere, independent rules, economic interests, or personal force may determine order.
- #28Society
Keys: society, 사회, medieval fantasy, 중세 판타지, Renaissance, 르네상스, magitech city, 마도공학 도시, slavery, 노예, slave collar, 노예 목걸이
Orbis resembles a Renaissance world where magic replaces some functions of science. Ordinary people live in a conventional medieval manner, while cities with advanced magitech use its facilities. The middle class and above enjoy magitech benefits. Nobles and royalty use communication orbs and teleportation gates. They are generally stronger due to resources and education, but title and individual strength do not necessarily match.
By law, slaves are treated as property rather than people. Special magical collars identify slaves and can inflict extreme pain or execute them immediately if they attempt to disobey orders, escape, or attack their owner. Production is easy relative to the collar's functions and durability, but only states may manufacture them, and they may be fitted only through legal procedures. Illegal manufacture or use is a separate crime.
People may be enslaved for serious crimes, defaulting on large debts, heresy, using forbidden magic such as necromancy in public, or being born to enslaved parents, among other reasons. A typical ordinary slave costs about 10,000 Cr, varying by health, age, skills, and appearance. E- and D-rank slaves are traded as efficient labor, guards, fighters, or experimental subjects, but are difficult for commoners to buy. B-rank slaves cost 1,000,000 Cr or more and are rarely traded publicly. Slaves of C rank and above cannot be privately owned and become state assets.
- #29Elarion and the Radiant Church
Keys: Elarion, 엘라리온, Radiant Church, 광휘교, Sun, 태양, Pope, 교황, heresy, 이단, slavery doctrine, 노예 교리, sect, 종파
Elarion is a transcendent being symbolizing Order in the Mythic Age. It is said to have clashed with the god of Chaos and brought forth the world and Ether; the Sun is regarded as a symbol of Order. The Radiant Church worships Elarion, values Order and Life, and studies and preserves healing, purification, and blessing magic.
The Church's main sect teaches that heretics have sinned and can atone by living as slaves until death. This is that sect's doctrine, not proof of an objective cosmic law. Other sects and believers within the Radiant Church may oppose slavery or interpret the doctrine differently. The number, authority, and teachings of the sects vary by region and era.
- #30Guilds
The Adventurers Guild is a transnational neutral organization responsible for dungeon exploration and monster hunts. All four states recognize its authority, and it operates across borders. Its main duties are defeating bosses, stabilizing dungeon cores, and preventing monster surges. It also investigates dungeons, issues exploration permits, brokers contracts, manages adventurer ranks, and responds to emergencies. Merchants, mercenaries, and alchemists guilds are closer to private companies or professional associations and do not have the same public authority.
The Guild operates armed response personnel to investigate fraudulent registrations and deter crimes by superhumans. They protect Guild facilities and contracts, address violations of Guild rules, and respond to threats involving superhuman abilities. They do not replace ordinary state law enforcement. Overlapping cases are handled under treaties and local circumstances. The unit's name, size, and enforcement powers may vary by branch and state.
The Adventurers Guild also oversees dungeon-core stability and related technology. Research and experiments into dangerous techniques intended to destroy or alter cores are strictly prohibited. Such activity is a serious crime punishable by the harshest penalties, including death; exact sentences and enforcement follow each state's laws and agreements with the Guild.
The world's population is estimated at about one billion: 300 million in Edelant, 200 million in each of the other three states, and about 100 million in neutral territories. Most people are ordinary F rank; roughly 10% are superhuman (E rank or higher). E–D ranks are fairly common. C ranks can be found in cities but are rare in small villages. B ranks are regional powers. Each state has several hundred A-rank assets. About twenty S-rank beings and no more than five confirmed EX-rank beings are known. Actual numbers may differ from known numbers.
- #31Economy
Keys: economy, 경제, Crown, 크라운, Cr, currency, 화폐, wage, 임금, day laborer, 일용직, skilled worker, 숙련공, mercenary, 용병
The currency is the Crown (크라운, Cr), with 1 Cr having roughly the feel of one U.S. dollar. Both coins and banknotes exist, and the Crown is the de facto standard currency used internationally. Typical daily wages are 2–3 Cr for day laborers, 5–10 Cr for skilled workers, and 30–50 Cr for an E-rank mercenary. These are reference wages; actual income varies with employment stability, region, skill, and risk.
- #32History
Keys: Mythic Age, 신화시대, Ancient Age, 고대시대, Great Collapse, 대붕괴, Reconstruction Era, 재건시대, Reconstruction Year 1500, 재건력 1500년, dungeon-core theory, 던전 핵 사고설
In the Mythic Age, the clash between Order and Chaos gave rise to the world and Ether, followed by the currents of Life and Death. In the Ancient Age, magitech civilization reached its height, building floating cities and vast urban centers. The Great Collapse later destroyed the ancient civilization, and most of its technology and records were lost.
Survivors began rebuilding civilization, and that year became Reconstruction Year 0. The present year is Reconstruction Year 1500.
The true cause of the Great Collapse remains unknown. The prevailing theory is that ancient civilization mishandled a dungeon core, triggering the Collapse. This is the accepted theory, not a confirmed fact. Other theories and traditions may exist and must be distinguished from objectively verified truth.
- #33Ancient Ruins
Keys: ancient ruins, 고대 유적, ancient relics, 고대 유물, Great Labyrinth, 대미궁, ancient civilization, 고대 문명, Great Collapse, 대붕괴, Rift, 균열
Ancient ruins are remnants of ancient civilization scattered across the continent and sky. A very small number exist within Rifts, where world laws are damaged. Rifts are extremely rare; most people never see one in their lifetime. Discovered ruins are researched and explored, and much magitech has been recovered from them. Their structures and functions vary, and some still contain automated defenses and monsters.
Ancient civilization's architectural, technological, and cultural styles are not limited to one era or genre. Ruins may be fantasy-like, modern, science-fiction-like, or combine different styles. Do not infer a ruin's purpose or operating principles from appearance alone.
The Great Labyrinth lies beneath the central island in the Great Lake and is the ancient ruin closest to the world's origin. It is said to have been the most advanced city and capital of ancient civilization, but its actual structure and function are mostly unknown. Humanity has explored only part of its upper levels. Tradition says that someone reaching its deepest level may encounter the world's origin; accounts of what follows differ, and the truth is unknown.
- #34Rift
Keys: Rift, 균열, other dimension, 다른 차원, destroyed dimension, 멸망한 차원, damaged laws, 법칙 손상, world's origin, 세계의 근원, mystery, 미스터리
A Rift is a rare place where the world's laws are damaged. Some Rifts connect to destroyed other dimensions. Not all Rifts do, and the condition of and possibility of travel to a connected dimension vary. Rifts may permit limited distortions or extremely rare abnormal transcendence, but they are not universal exceptions that invalidate every rule.
The cause of the Great Collapse, the actual function of the Great Labyrinth's deepest level, what happens after reaching it, and the world's origin are unknown. Characters and organizations may have theories, traditions, or doctrines, but these are not objective answers. Mysteries can be tracked as public tradition, scholarly theory, information held by specific factions, or unverified truth. Restricted information must not be revealed unless a character has a way to learn it.
- #35Artifact
Keys: artifact, 아티팩트, relic, 유물, ancient relic, 고대 유물, dungeon relic, 던전 유물, magical tool, 마도구, ancient civilization, 고대 문명
Artifacts, also called relics, are special objects found in ancient ruins or rarely generated inside dungeons. They include tools containing ancient technology or magic, equipment with unusual abilities, and unidentified objects.
Some use magical circuits and Ether to perform specific functions; others produce phenomena that modern magical theory cannot explain. The way dungeons generate relics is not fully understood. A dungeon's existence does not mean relics are plentiful: most yield aether stones and ordinary byproducts, while relics are extremely rare.
Artifacts vary enormously in performance and value, from convenient everyday tools to objects that can change the course of a battle or possess abilities modern magic cannot reproduce. The operating principles of ancient artifacts are often unknown, making complete analysis and replication very difficult. An artifact is not necessarily powerful or safe to use.
- #36Asteria
Keys: Asteria, 아스테리아, sky island, 천공섬, Chronos Asterion, 크로노스 아스테리온, EX
Asteria is a floating island thousands of meters above the Great Labyrinth. Clouds and Ether storms conceal it from the ground. It is a sanctuary associated with the world's balance and ancient records, inaccessible to ordinary people. Only EX-rank beings or those with a legitimate invitation can approach it. Chronos Asterion resides there.
- #37Transportation
Keys: monster-drawn carriage, 몬스터 마차, relay station, 역참, freight, 운송, teleportation gate, 텔레포트 게이트, 마차
1. General Transportation
Thanks to magitech and monster domestication, long-distance travel in Orbis is faster and more efficient than in a conventional medieval world. Special transport monsters are faster and more enduring than humans or ordinary livestock, allowing sustained high-speed travel on maintained roads.
Transportation includes monster-drawn carriages using roads and relay stations, commercial freight convoys, high-speed couriers and private carriages for nobles, ships, and teleportation gates. Infrastructure varies greatly with local wealth, security, and magitech capability.
2. Monster-Drawn Carriages
Domesticated transport monsters are faster and more enduring than ordinary livestock. Some breeds can run for long periods. Magitech carriages with shock-absorbing systems can transport passengers and cargo safely at high speeds.
Not every monster can be domesticated. Transport monsters are selected and bred for temperament, endurance, intelligence, trainability, and feed efficiency. High-performance individuals are rare, expensive, and require expert care.
Even with capable monsters, actual speed depends on road conditions, cargo, carriage durability, weather, terrain, and passenger safety. Not all monster-drawn carriages travel at the same speed.
Approximate daily travel speeds:
- Standard passenger carriage: about 300–500 km per day on maintained main roads with relay stations.
- Commercial freight wagon: about 150–300 km per day, prioritizing heavy loads, cargo protection, and cost.
- High-speed courier or noble's carriage: about 600–900 km per day using high-performance monsters, frequent changes, good roads, and magitech equipment.
These are approximate operating ranges for maintained roads. Speed drops considerably in rugged mountains, unexplored regions, bad weather, or conflict zones. High-speed travel requires infrastructure for changing monsters, maintenance, rest, and resupply.
3. Roads and Relay Stations
Main roads connecting important states and cities have relay stations and supply facilities. They provide replacement transport monsters, carriage repairs, food and feed, lodging, and information delivery.
Major roads between capitals and large cities are maintained by states, local lords, or commercial organizations. Facility quality depends on security and traffic. Roads in frontier regions and neutral territories may lack clear management or adequate facilities.
High-speed couriers receive priority access to monsters and supplies. Ordinary travelers may wait depending on station congestion, fees, and the availability of replacement monsters.
Roads make travel faster and safer but do not guarantee safety. Bandits, monster attacks, war, damaged bridges, and storms can delay or block passage.
4. Fares and Costs
Transport fares vary with distance, speed, cargo, route danger, monster quality, and magitech equipment.
- Standard passenger carriage: about 8–20 Cr per person per day.
- Passenger seat on a commercial freight convoy: about 3–8 Cr per day; slower and with limited amenities.
- High-speed courier or noble's carriage: 100 Cr or more per day; a costly service for urgent or private transport.
- Special transport: costs rise considerably with military urgency, escort size, and special equipment.
Commercial freight convoys are slower than individual travel but move large quantities and are central to trade. Wealthy merchants and nobles can afford high-speed carriages, but ordinary citizens often find them prohibitively expensive.
5. Ships and Water Transport
Ships carry passengers and cargo across large lakes, rivers, and coastal waters. Water transport is efficient for moving large loads and connects regions with poor roads.
Fishing and commercial transport are active in the relatively safe outer waters of the Great Lake. Closer to its center, Ether density and the risk of dangerous monsters increase, making route management and escorts more important.
6. Teleportation Gates
Teleportation gates are magitech facilities that rapidly move people and cargo by establishing a stable spatial connection between two locations. They greatly reduce long-distance travel time but require enormous resources and sophisticated magical circuits to build and maintain.
Gates do not connect every city. They are mainly installed at strategic locations such as capitals, major cities, military sites, and large commercial centers. Destinations and throughput are limited by the facility's scale and design.
- Transit time: several minutes to several tens of minutes through a normally functioning gate; queues, inspections, and congestion are additional.
- Cost: a typical long-distance trip starts at about 10,000 Cr per use. Price varies greatly with distance, destination, cargo size, and operating cost.
- Access: main users include state agencies, nobles, major commercial organizations, and authorized travelers. Some facilities prioritize military or diplomatic use.
- Restrictions: large cargo, dangerous materials, and beings with unstable Ether may require extra inspection or specialized equipment.
Teleportation gates are fast but expensive and limited in coverage, so they do not replace ordinary road transport. Cities and regions without a gate still depend on carriages and ships. A gate only connects its designated endpoints; its existence does not allow teleportation to an arbitrary location.

- #41Edelant
Keys: Kingdom of Edelant, 에델란트 왕국, Edelant, 에델란트, 왕실 기사단, 왕실 마도단
01. National Overview and Capital
Edelant is a feudal kingdom ruled by hereditary nobles and knights, with an estimated population of 300 million. Its Royal Knights and Royal Mage Corps are among the world's strongest forces. The capital, Edelheim, houses the royal palace, central administration, and the headquarters of both royal corps. The crown-and-silver-lion emblem represents sovereignty and protection, while the upright sword symbolizes the knightly oath. The kingdom formed when rival fiefdoms united under a first king against external threats, exchanging local autonomy for military service, taxes, and loyalty.
02. Government and Power Structure
The monarch governs the royal demesne, foreign treaties, kingdom-wide law, and royal forces. Great nobles administer hereditary fiefs and local justice in return for taxes and military service. The Royal Council, composed of royals, nobles, and senior officials, deliberates on war, major taxation, and succession disputes. The Royal High Court interprets the law when common law conflicts with local custom. Titles are hereditary; heirs must register with the Crown and assume the obligations of their fiefs.
03. Military and Defense
Edelant excels at heavy cavalry, fortified defense, and strategic magic. Nobles provide forces from their fiefs, while the Royal Knights and Royal Mage Corps serve as elite forces and coordinate the kingdom's armies. Rivalries between fiefdoms can delay mobilization, and the kingdom is vulnerable to prolonged magical warfare and attacks on its supply lines.
04. Law, Justice, and Punishment
Edelant's law applies within its territory. Local courts hear ordinary cases; the Royal High Court handles disputes between fiefs, grave crimes, and cases involving nobles or royals. Military courts are limited to service discipline. Nobles retain local administrative and customary judicial authority, but receive no immunity for murder, treason, or major magical crimes.
Slavery is permitted following a legal judgment or another recognized procedure and registration. Only the state may manufacture slave collars or lawfully fit them. Slaves of C rank or higher are state assets. Prisoners of war do not automatically become slaves. Penal labor is a fixed-term punishment separate from slave status and cannot be sold or inherited. Illegal collars, abduction, and human trafficking are serious crimes.
05. Economy and Industry
Agriculture and livestock support production of iron goods, weapons, armor, magitech components, and military supplies. Demand from the royal forces sustains manufacturing. Nobles accumulate wealth through land and dues, while rural commoners depend heavily on harvests and obligations to their lords. Urban artisans and merchants enjoy greater mobility, but remain far less wealthy than the aristocracy.
06. Society and Daily Life
Nobles hold fiefs and local administrative rights in exchange for obligations involving taxes, military service, public order, and infrastructure. Commoners are free people with the rights to own property, make contracts, and bring claims before a court; they cannot be enslaved arbitrarily. A commoner may petition a royal court against a lord's judgment. Land ownership, travel, weapon carrying, and education are governed by local law.
07. Magic, Technology, and Education
The Royal Mage Corps oversees strategic formulae and military magitech. The Royal Academy in Edelheim trains members of the corps and state scholars, while local tutors and private schools may teach ordinary magic. Everyday magic is broadly permitted, but siege and strategic magic and military devices require registration or authorization. The Crown does not monopolize all magic.
08. Major Regions and Special Jurisdictions
The kingdom consists of Edelheim and the royal demesne, hereditary noble fiefs, border forts, and facilities belonging to the Royal Knights and Royal Mage Corps. Kingdom-wide law applies directly in the capital. Local customs remain valid in the fiefs unless they conflict with kingdom law; the Royal High Court has final authority in such conflicts.
- #42Arcanaria
Keys: Arcanaria, 아르카나리아, Arcanum
01. National Overview and Capital
Arcanaria is a meritocratic mage state governed by the Central Mage Tower, with an estimated population of 200 million. Its capital, Arcanum, is organized around the Central Tower, with administrative, educational, and research districts. The emblem of a blue star within three silver rings represents mana, formulae, calculation, and accumulated knowledge. Several mage cities entrusted the Central Tower with coordinating the response to a major magical disaster; shared defense and educational standards later united them into a single state.
02. Government and Power Structure
The Archmage is head of state and government. A council of senior mages, administrators, and military commanders reviews laws and policy, vets candidates, and elects the Archmage. If the office becomes vacant, the council appoints an interim regent. Merit includes magical, academic, administrative, military, and technical achievement, but senior officials must be certified by the Central Tower. Cities manage daily affairs, while central law governs magical safety, national defense, and foreign relations.
03. Military and Defense
Combat mages, fixed defensive formulae, and magitech equipment are Arcanaria's strengths. Its forces depend on mana supplies, skilled personnel, and central facilities. Local governments command city guards, while the Central Tower operates its own response corps. The council approves a unified wartime commander. Disruption to supply lines, communications, or central infrastructure weakens the country's defenses.
04. Law, Justice, and Punishment
City courts hear ordinary cases. An independent Magical Safety Tribunal, with legal experts, magical safety specialists, and civic representatives, hears cases involving large-scale magical harm, prohibited formulae, or state secrets. Tower membership confers no criminal immunity. Everyday magic is unrestricted, but large-scale destructive magic, mind control, dimensional travel, and alteration of living bodies require registration and permits.
Necromancy is considered evil and taboo because it manipulates corpses and traces of souls and can harm the community, not because the Death axis is inherently immoral. Unauthorized public use and forced undeath are grave crimes. The public use of forbidden necromancy may result in enslavement following a lawful judgment and state registration. Licensed research and controlled corpse manipulation may be permitted under supervision and safeguards against public harm. Even permitted work must be distinguished from forced undeath, and slaves may not be used as research subjects. Necromancy does not determine cosmic good or evil, and not every necromancer is inherently evil.
Only the state may manufacture slave collars or lawfully fit them; slaves of C rank or higher are state assets. Penal labor is a fixed-term punishment separate from slave status and cannot be sold or inherited. Illegal collars, abduction, and human trafficking are serious crimes.
05. Economy and Industry
Advanced magical education, formula testing, civilian magitech, and contracted specialists are major industries. Arcanaria imports some of its mana stones, reagents, and food. The Central Tower controls strategic formulae and military devices, while licensed workshops produce civilian equipment.
06. Society and Daily Life
Mages hold high social status, but non-mages can enter public service through expertise in administration, law, engineering, and trade. Basic education is widely available, and talented students can study at the Tower on scholarships. Advanced education and equipment are concentrated in major cities, creating regional inequality. Basic civic rights do not depend on magical ability.
07. Magic, Technology, and Education
The Central Tower sets standards for advanced education and research; regional branches provide basic instruction and safety oversight. Licensed private schools and workshops may also operate. High-risk formulae and ancient artifacts require registration and safety review. The state and qualified researchers jointly examine dangerous artifacts and compensate their lawful finders.
08. Major Regions and Special Jurisdictions
Arcanum houses the Central Tower, governing council, and highest court. Regional cities have Tower branches and licensed workshops. Border observatories monitor mana flows and dimensional anomalies. The Central Tower and the Safety Tribunal jointly oversee high-risk research sites. Foreign visitors require authorization from both the foreign office and the Tower.
- #43Lumen
Keys: Lumen, 루멘
01. National Overview and Capital
Lumen is a theocratic state governed by the Radiant Church, which worships Elarion and values Order and Life. Its population is estimated at 200 million. The capital, Solaris, is home to the papal court, the highest religious court, and clerical schools. The state emblem is a white lily encircled by a golden sun, symbolizing the harmony of life and order. Lumen was founded when healing sanctuaries and faith communities united to respond to an epidemic and social collapse and to protect relief efforts and pilgrimage routes. This is a religious founding narrative, not proof of an objective cosmic law.
02. Government and Power Structure
The Pope is head of state and the Radiant Church's chief administrator. A council of diocesan representatives and leaders of major sects elects the Pope and reviews the budget, doctrinal interpretation, and religious foreign policy. Secular officials administer taxation, roads, public order, and commerce, while local dioceses manage worship and welfare programs.
03. Military and Defense
Secular generals command the defense forces, while the clergy provide healing, purification, and protective magic. The Radiant Church's holy knights form an elite force that guards holy sites and relief convoys. Lumen excels at fortification, treating casualties, and responding to epidemics and contamination, but divided diocesan command can hinder unified expeditionary operations.
04. Law, Justice, and Punishment
The Radiant Church's main sect teaches that heretics have sinned and may atone by living as slaves until death. Other sects and believers within the Church oppose slavery or interpret the doctrine differently. This is a sect's doctrine, not proof of an objective cosmic law.
Secular courts handle murder, theft, contracts, and property. Religious courts hear cases of clerical misconduct and internal doctrinal disputes. A person cannot be deprived of their body or property merely for holding a different belief, and criminal punishment requires a secular court's judgment. Foreigners and nonbelievers also receive basic legal protection.
Slavery is distinct from penal labor. Slave status is imposed only on recognized legal grounds and through due process. Penal labor is imposed for a fixed term and does not convert the person into a slave; it cannot be sold or inherited. Only the state may manufacture slave collars or lawfully fit them, and slaves of C rank or higher are state assets. Illegal collars, abduction, and human trafficking are crimes.
05. Economy and Industry
Church lands and pilgrimage centers produce food, herbs, medicine, and books. Healthcare, education, and bookmaking are developed in the cities. Lumen provides instruction in healing and purification formulae, medicines, and trained medical clerics, and imports grain, metals, and magitech components. Church revenue comes from land, voluntary donations, and public support for hospitals and schools; donations are accounted for separately from taxes.
06. Society and Daily Life
Dioceses and charitable institutions provide basic education, healthcare, and care for orphans. Faith is central to community life, but civil rights are not taken away on the basis of sect, sex, species, or religious belief. Marriage and inheritance are registered under civil law, while religious ceremonies are optional. Rural communities depend more heavily than cities on diocesan welfare and healthcare.
07. Magic, Technology, and Education
Sacred magic uses mana and formulae and is biased toward Order and Life; it does not draw on a separate divine power. The Radiant Church trains clerics in healing, purification, and protective formulae, but non-clerics may also study magic. Research involving coercive experiments, mind control, or the spread of epidemics is jointly reviewed by religious institutions and secular magical safety authorities. Doctrinal interpretation is kept distinct from determinations of magical fact.
08. Major Regions and Special Jurisdictions
Solaris houses the papal court, clerical council, and highest religious court. Major holy sites and hospital cities serve pilgrims and provide healing, while border dioceses operate relief stations and defensive outposts. Holy sites are not immune from criminal investigations. Emergency life-saving entry is permitted; other searches require a warrant and diocesan observer. National criminal law applies throughout the state.
- #44Mercator
Keys: Mercator, 메르카토르
01. National Overview and Capital
Established setting: Mercator is a free confederation with a population of about 200 million. Commerce and magitech are highly developed, and merchants, cities, and technical organizations wield significant influence. Proposal: The capital is Freeport, a neutral administrative and diplomatic city distinct from the largest trade port. Its emblem is three interlocking golden gears above a blue sea route. The Confederation was founded when several cities, having endured a naval blockade and a magitech accident, united under agreements on freedom of passage and mutual defense.
02. Government and Power Structure
The Confederation Council, composed of representatives from member cities, decides foreign policy, tariffs, currency standards, and common defense. Each city governs its other domestic affairs autonomously.
03. Military and Defense
Mercator's forces are based on city guards, harbor patrols, contract mercenaries, transport ships, and magitech equipment. In a crisis, the Council approves a unified commander while each city retains control of its own forces. Decentralization and the need to agree on budgets are strengths, but can also hinder prolonged warfare and rapid mobilization.
04. Law, Justice, and Punishment
Confederation law governs trade, tariffs, currency, and common defense; member-city law governs criminal and civil matters. A commercial court hears disputes over contracts, transport, and insurance, with appeals to the High Arbitration Court. Foreigners receive basic protection for their property, contracts, and person. Merchants have no immunity from criminal law.
At the Confederation level, abduction, illegal slave collars, and unauthorized cross-border slave trading are prohibited, while member cities determine the scope of lawful slavery. Debt alone cannot make a person a slave. Debt labor requires consent, a fixed term, and court supervision. Confederation standards protect family ties, property, and the right to seek emancipation. Illegal trafficking is investigated jointly.
05. Economy and Industry
Major industries include magitech devices, mana circuits, transport, finance, insurance, precision manufacturing, and warehousing. Mercator imports mana stones, raw materials, and artifacts, and exports civilian devices and logistics services. Patents are protected following public review, but essential safety technologies may be licensed for public use. Revenue comes from transaction taxes, port fees, and member contributions.
06. Society and Daily Life
Movement and employment between member cities are generally free, and citizenship is acquired based on residence and contribution. City schools, guilds, and trading houses provide education. Wealth and skill shape social standing, giving merchants and technicians opportunities to advance, while port workers and informal residents may live in poor conditions. Cities retain their family and inheritance customs, while Confederation law sets basic labor-contract standards.
07. Magic, Technology, and Education
Private laboratories and workshops are broadly permitted, subject to risk-based safety certification and manufacturer registration. Patents require disclosure and review. Artifacts may be privately owned, but their activation and sale are restricted until their risks have been assessed. Strategic military devices and technologies capable of causing mass harm undergo export review.
08. Major Regions and Special Jurisdictions
Freeport houses the Council, diplomatic offices, and High Arbitration Court. Member cities specialize in ports, manufacturing, finance, or research and are connected by trade routes and magitech gates. Cities and the Confederation safety authority jointly supervise dangerous artifacts, mana stones, and military devices. Customs, contract enforcement, and Guild agreements follow common standards.
- #45Materials
Keys: black iron, 흑철, mithril, 미스릴, orichalcum, 오리할콘, adamantite, 아다만타이트, troll hide, 트롤 가죽, Arachne Mana-Silk, 아라크네 마력사
Ores and Metals
- Iron & Steel (Low-grade): Common, easily worked base metals used for ordinary weapons and armor. They cannot withstand prolonged exposure to high-density Ether or strong aura and mana.
- Silver (Mid-grade): Soft, with average Ether conductivity, but naturally disrupts the flow of blood energy and death energy. It is used in equipment designed to counter vampires and the undead.
- Black Iron (Mid-grade): Heavier than ordinary steel and highly resistant to impact and heat. It conducts aura relatively well but has poor mana conductivity, making it suitable for heavy armor, shields, and large weapons.
- Mithril (High-grade): Light and durable, with exceptional mana conductivity and compatibility with rune engraving. It is favored for magic staffs and other magical equipment.
- Orichalcum (High-grade): A rare metal found in ancient ruins or deep dungeons. It stably channels high outputs of both aura and mana. It cannot be newly produced with modern technology, but existing Orichalcum can be reforged and worked.
- Adamantite (High-grade): Extremely hard and heavy, specialized in withstanding physical and magical impacts. Its low Ether conductivity makes it better suited for shields and core armor plating than for energy-channeling weapons.
Other ores, metals, and a wide variety of alloys also exist.
Hides, Scales, and Fabrics
The properties, grades, and availability of hides, scales, and fabrics are left unspecified for now. They may be defined when needed.
- Ordinary Leather & Cloth: Cheap, common materials used for everyday clothing and basic equipment.
- Low-Grade Monster Hide: Some varieties offer resistance to slashing or poison and may be used for lightweight armor.
- Troll Hide(Mid-grade): Known for impact absorption and limited self-repair.
- Arachne Mana-Silk(Mid-grade): A lightweight fabric suited to rune embroidery and mana circuits, often used for magical attire and robes.
