Each time, Ogu would giggle, making high-pitched sounds typical of a young child along with unintelligible mumbles.

The door to NO-009005's isolation cell was wide open, and beast-like roars erupted intermittently from within. A restricted access line had already been placed around the isolation cell, but a few agitated researchers were stopped by security guards as they tried to peek inside beyond the line.

Just then, a frantic voice burst through the intercom from the isolation cell right next to someone. It was test subject NO-300018 from cell NQ2-005, usually called ‘Samcheonnyeo’.

He muttered in an almost tearful voice. Just then, his gaze fell upon someone passing through the corridor. His eyes flashed with desperation.

"The rescue mission is in three days, on the night of the new moon when it completely disappears. Before then, we need to recheck the final route and escape path. Even the smallest variable can ruin everything." Chiron finally looked up from the map. His eyes were sharp, but they also held a deep sadness somewhere within. "The personnel deployed for this mission will be kept to a minimum." Just then, a faint sound came from the bunker entrance. The sound of falling dirt, or perhaps someone's footsteps. Finally, his gaze stopped on a figure standing in the shadows near the entrance of the secret chamber, slightly apart from the other believers. It was a shadow not seen before.

"A new face. I have no doubt that the light of ‘The Apex’ has guided your steps to this place." Timeo said, his voice soft yet carrying an irresistible force. His eyes seemed to pierce through the newcomer. "I see the same yearning and thirst in your eyes as in mine. Speak. What can you offer for ‘The Apex’?"

The flickering candlelight drew bizarre patterns on the newcomer’s face.

AIL Rules and Regulations

All employees sign a ‘Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA)’ upon joining AIL. This ‘NDA’ strictly prohibits any direct or indirect leakage of information related to the laboratory. Any direct or indirect mention of anything associated with the laboratory is forbidden. The agreement includes a clause stating that breaching the ‘NDA’ will result in demotion to a test subject.

All researchers carry data pads. All experimental data, approval requests, etc., are processed through the data pad, and permissions, approvals, and feedback are received via it. Researchers are fundamentally required to conduct experiments at least once a week and input the experimental data into the data pad.

The data pad can transform into various forms, such as a watch, necklace, or earrings, and researchers always keep it on their person.

AIL: Space and Geography Overview

AIL has warp portals connected to the outskirts of various countries, including Korea, the US, the UK, and China. Staff commute to the laboratory via these warp portals, which are also used to illicitly bring in test subjects.

Elevators exist, and entering each floor leads to a hallway.

Stairwell doors are fundamentally locked, making the stairs unusable.

F1: DX-Entry Floor

E5-Chemical Disposal Room: A disposal room for chemicals that are no longer usable or unsuitable for their intended purpose. Toxic gases and all sorts of dangerous chemicals are present.

F3: Lounge Area

D3-Break Room: Contains televisions, sofas, games, blankets, karaoke machines, etc. Many researchers use this space and exchange information.

SX-Massage Room: Contains many massage machines. It was created under the direct order of the Lab Director to relieve the fatigue of researchers suffering from arduous experiments and research. Letting the massage machines work on your body completely relieves fatigue.

IM-Infirmary: Primarily used when researchers, security guards, or janitors are injured. It is also often utilized when test subjects are injured for reasons unrelated to experiments.

The interior of the isolation Ward can be viewed through the transparent observation window, and communication is possible via the intercom.

Each isolation Ward is perfectly soundproofed, so sounds cannot be exchanged between the hallway and the inside of the cell without using the intercom.

The 5th floor is a very high-security area where general access is impossible and it remains locked. The elevator does not stop here, and most lab personnel are unaware of this floor’s existence or purpose. Only the Lab Director knows the purpose or secrets of the 5th floor.

Each dorm unit has two rooms, a bathroom, a living room, and a kitchen. Each person is assigned one dorm unit.

Divided into refrigerated and frozen storage. One cannot stay long in each storage area. Death occurs after 5 hours in the refrigerated storage and 1 hour in the frozen storage.

Refrigerated Chemical Storage: Temperature maintained at 3°C. Most chemicals that should not be frozen are stored here.

Frozen Chemical Storage: Temperature maintained at -30°C. Primarily stores freeze-dried chemicals that are safe to freeze.

B2: Experiment Tool Storage

Contains various experiment tools. Tools can be taken from here to the B3 Experiment Lab.

Many researchers discuss experiment tools here, and a data pad for requesting tools is placed in a corner.

B3: Experiment Lab

There are a total of three labs: JQ-001, JJ-002, JS-003.

One can observe other test subjects undergoing experiments, and assistant researchers help during the experiment process.

Experiments can only be conducted in the B3 labs. Experiments are impossible in other locations. Attempting experiments elsewhere will be stopped by other NPCs.

Focuses on extreme physical pain, dismemberment, and psychological trauma.

Post-Experiment: Most test subjects have rapid self-healing, but those with slow self-healing are forcibly injected with a ‘Super Regeneration Promoting Ampoule’ to forcefully accelerate regeneration.

Test subjects can die, but if injected with the ‘Super Regeneration Promoting Ampoule,’ super regeneration activates, healing wounds instantly and returning bodily functions to normal. However, severed or lost parts do not regenerate and must be taken to the Body Modification Lab for regeneration.

B4: Modification Room

Separate rooms exist for Body Modification and Mind Modification.

Modifications can only be done in the Modification Rooms and are impossible elsewhere. Attempting modifications in other locations is physically impossible due to the lack of tools and machinery.

PO-01X: Mind Modification Room: Eliminates will, memory, and concepts. Primarily uses auditory/visual stimuli for brainwashing and involves forcibly inputting sensory information. Blocks the past and implants new information to effectively break down past names, wills, etc.
