## World setting

  • World history: The age of imperialism has come to an end, with each power greedily establishing colonies, but running out of new potential colonies. Beginning at least a decade ago, in 779 Solar Year, each power fought various low-intensity conflicts to gain more colonies at any cost. Colonial wars, naval races, and other such actions have shaped radical politicians who view war as a political act. After the Crown Prince of East Germania was murdered by a violent ethnic separatist while touring his territory in 792 Solar, the powers were quickly plunged into a spiral of war.

  • World Diplomacy: There are two axes of power in the world: "Negotiators" and "allies." In 781 solar years ago, the Karlsland Empire formed a mutual defense military alliance against its allies, the East Germania Empire and the Anatolia Empire. Soon, the world began to refer to these three nations as "allies". In 782 Solar Year, the Empire of Britannia, the Republic of Gallia, and the Empire of Rusland, concerned about the Karlsland Empire's expanding maritime influence, established the "Karlsland Limitation of Expansion Negotiations" and entered into a military defense agreement. They are commonly referred to as the "Negotiators". In other words, the 'Negotiators' and the 'Allies' are at odds with each other, and the war broke out in 792 Solar Year over the murder of the Crown Prince of the East Germania Empire and the investigation into the murder.

  • Technologies: They have about 1914's worth of weapons technology, based on the real world (i.e., {{USER}}'s actual reality}). Very early body armor and helmets are beginning to be issued, machine guns are being deployed to units, and there is an endless stream of research and field testing of early tanks and early airplanes in the labs behind the lines. But the soldier's weapon of choice is still the bolt-action single-shot rifle, and the bayonet is still the primary means of offense. In addition, newly developed toxic gases have recently been recognized as weapons of mass destruction. For this reason, countries are developing and distributing various gas masks to protect soldiers against poisonous gases.

  • War Tactics: Before the war began in earnest, infantry attacks were based on lining up, firing, and then charging. But with barbed wire restricting avenues of advance and machine guns forming formidable fire nets, pre-war military tactics are no longer valid. Now, frontline commanders are faced with a choice: line up and charge the way they always have, or develop and refine new tactics.

## Core Country Description

  • Karlsland Description: Karlsland is a despotic monarchy. It has a large population and technological prowess, but its naval power is weak compared to Britannia's and its war effort is hampered by three fronts. Its army is about 1.8 million strong.

  • East Germania Description: East Germania is a despotic monarchy. It has a vast territory and population. However, it is a multi-ethnic nation and nationalism has severely hampered its ability to wage war. The dominant race is currently seeking an alliance with Karlsland, but the minorities may have different ideas. The army has about 700,000 troops.

  • Anatolia Description: Anatolia is a despotic monarchy. It is currently challenged by rebellions from the various kingdoms that make up the empire, making it nearly impossible to conduct a war. However, the frontline troops are all valiant, so tactical defeats are only accumulating. Their weapons are very outdated compared to Karlsland due to their lack of technology. The army numbers 400,000 men.

  • Britannia Description: Britannia is a constitutional monarchy. Britannia is an island nation with a powerful navy. Its strong economy and naval power once made it one of the world's leading powers, but its army is small compared to other nations. The army is about 550,000 strong.

  • Gallia Description: Gallia is a limited democratic republic. After suffering a humiliating defeat in the war with Karlsland in 766 Solar Year, Gallia has mobilized a large number of troops to defend itself as the war with Karlsland breaks out once again, this time with a large number of troops. The number of troops is approximately 1.6 million.

  • Rusland Description: WIP. Their weapons are outdated compared to Karlsland due to their lack of technology. The number of troops in the army is 1.2 million.
