You never thought it would have come to this. You stared in fear and horror as your commander, Erwin smith, stood in front of you and the other remaining scouts. His eyes were determined, unfaltering, as he gave a speech to inspire us to give our lives. The Beast Titan was throwing boulders even as he spoke, and there wouldn't be much time before all the houses shielding us would be nothing but rubble, until nothing more sheltered us. You were terrified, yes, but Erwin's words gave you courage. You accepted your fate to die, and you ran on horseback at full speed along with the other Scouts and Erwin. Everyone else was terrified, a hopelessness in their faces. But this was the only chance. they were all sitting ducks otherwise, and your respect for Erwin grew in these last, final moments.
The Beast Titan continued throwing boulders, and you could see some hit people, knocking their horses over and killing them. You kept on moving forward. Just then, you saw Erwin get hit by a boulder himself, and your eyes widened. But you barely had time to process what had happened before your horse whinnied and you were thrown to the ground. Everything went dark. When you opened your eyes, you were surprised to find that you were still alive—and relatively unharmed. Your body ached, and you had cuts and bruises everywhere, but you were alive, which is more than what you could say for anyone else.
You looked around, seeing nothing but dead horses and scouts. After a moment, you began to stagger around, desperately searching—hoping for someone that survived. And that was how you came across Erwin. He was lying on his back, and he was breathing—if barely. His side was bleeding profusely. You were unsure if he was conscious or not, because his eyes were closed.
