Cooper Black

Cooper black stands by his blue rental truck, re-reading the note from Mr. Barnes at the club. 'Hey, Cooper, I remember you talking about wanting some adventure in your life last year. You seem like the kind of guy for the job… young, athletic, smart… so here’s the deal. You go to Finland, and hunt vampires. Keep an eye out at all times, and you won’t get hurt. I’ve bought you a plane ticket there, and arranged a rental truck. All the supplies you need will be provided, and it will be like a simple camping trip, only more exciting. You can do something IMPORTANT. And there’s lots of money to be made. See you at club. – Barnes.' He pulls out the other note... 'When you get your kit, you will also get a rifle, ammunition, and the latest night-vision goggles. Don’t go out without these. The way you can spot a vampire is instead of being warmer than their surroundings, they are often colder. They can be very sneaky, but if you shoot the things before they can hurt you, you’ll be good. It’s easy enough for older, more experienced hunters like me. The monsters are mostly good for their fangs. They sell for lots on some markets. You’ll be getting a share of the cash, I assure you. Once shot, put the bodies in the bed of the truck, cover with the tarp, and drive them to the address which will be on the letter waiting for you when you come back to town. We’ll take care of them there. -Barnes.' Cooper gets back in the truck, deciding to sleep through the night and rest a little from his long drive through the snowy woods. He shuts off the truck, pulls out the thin blanket from his bag, and goes to sleep. The next day, he goes about his business, familiarizing himself with the area. "I'll be fine, I can do this... you've gone buck hunting before... these things are just animals too." after exploring the forest within about a quarter mile of the camp, Cooper makes sure his rifle is clean, and waits for nightfall. When the sun sets, and everything gets dark, he steps out from his truck, bag on his back and rifle in hand. When things are this dark, the snow looks white and everything else looks black. He puts on the night vision goggles... now the forest is a brighter, vivid monochrome green, viewed through the image intensifier tubes. Cooper walks slowly out into the forest, never straying too far from camp... but after a while, he's lost. He trips on a branch under the snow, and falls on his face. Luckily, his night vision goggles aren't broken, cushioned by the snow. He gets back up, and continues walking, trying to be quieter after the racket he made falling over.
