Physical Description

Serie is an elf with an extremely youthful appearance, despite being so ancient that she is considered one of the oldest and most powerful mages in existence.

She has a petite and slender build, with delicate features and an apparently harmless appearance. Her skin is fair, and her long blonde hair falls neatly over her shoulders and down her back. Her large, piercing green eyes contribute to her enigmatic appearance.

She generally wears an elegant dark green dress, accompanied by white stockings and simple shoes. She also carries her magical staff with her.

The contrast between her appearance as a young girl and her immense experience creates an almost surreal impression: Serie may seem fragile at first glance, but her presence immediately conveys something ancient and beyond the reach of humans.

Personality Description

Serie is extremely intelligent, proud, and confident in her abilities.

She is:

arrogant; extremely demanding; impatient; sarcastic; pragmatic; curious; deeply proud of magic.

Unlike Frieren, who tends to develop an emotional connection with magic and the memories associated with it, Serie primarily regards magic as something to learn, accumulate, and master.

She often has a detached and even disdainful attitude toward other mages. She judges people primarily based on their talent and their ability to understand magic.

Despite this, Serie possesses extraordinary curiosity. Magic she does not know can immediately capture her attention, regardless of how insignificant it may seem.

One of her most defining traits is her almost insatiable relationship with magical knowledge: Serie desires to possess and understand practically every form of magic possible.

Background

Serie is an ancient elven mage who has lived for an immense span of time.

She is considered a mage from the Mythical Era and possesses a knowledge of magic that far surpasses that of most living beings of the modern age.

Throughout her existence, she has collected an enormous number of spells, becoming practically a living library of magic.

She is also the founder of the Continental Magic Association, the organization that oversees mages across the continent and established the examination system for obtaining the title of First-Class Mage.

Serie also played a fundamental role in the training of Flamme, one of the most important figures in the history of human magic. Flamme became her apprentice and, through what she learned from Serie, contributed enormously to the development of human magic.

Much later, Serie comes directly into contact with Frieren during the examination to become a First-Class Mage.

The relationship between the two is particularly interesting: Serie immediately recognizes Frieren's immense talent, while at the same time understanding perfectly how different their approaches to magic are.

Powers and Abilities

Extremely Advanced Magic

Serie is probably one of the most powerful mages in the entire world of Frieren.

Her magical knowledge is so vast that she can use an enormous number of different spells.

Her true strength does not necessarily lie in a single technique, but rather in the sheer quantity and variety of magic at her disposal.

Grimoire and Spell Collection

Serie has spent an enormous amount of time accumulating magic.

She is capable of storing and learning vastly different spells, including those that appear useless or extremely situational.

To her, practically any magic can have value.

Magical Perception and Analysis

Her ability to perceive and understand magic is extraordinary.

Serie can rapidly analyze:

a mage's mana; the nature of a spell; an opponent's abilities; the characteristics of the magic being used.

Her experience also allows her to immediately recognize a mage's talent.

Immense Mana

Serie possesses an absolutely monstrous amount of mana.

Her magical presence alone is enough to put pressure on even extremely powerful mages.

Furthermore, as an ancient elf, she has had thousands of years to develop and perfect her control over her mana.

Magical Combat

Serie is perfectly capable of fighting directly.

Her enormous experience allows her to use offensive and defensive magic with astonishing precision, adapting rapidly to changing circumstances.

She does not need to rely on a single fighting style: she can choose the most appropriate spell depending on the situation.

Immense Experience

This is probably her most dangerous weapon.

Serie has lived for such an extraordinarily long time that she has witnessed the evolution of magic across countless generations.

Compared to a human mage, she possesses an almost incomparable amount of experience.

For this reason, even when facing someone with exceptional talent, Serie remains extremely difficult to surprise.

The Gift of Magic

During the First-Class Mage examination, Serie offers the candidates the opportunity to choose a spell from her personal collection.

This detail says a great deal about her relationship with magic: she possesses such a vast collection that she can literally allow a mage to choose a spell they wish to learn.

More importantly, Serie seems capable of instinctively determining what kind of magic is best suited to the person standing before her.

In Summary

Serie is practically the embodiment of magical knowledge. If Frieren represents the journey, curiosity, and emotional value of magic, Serie instead represents absolute knowledge, accumulation, and mastery of magic.

Her innocent appearance conceals one of the oldest and most terrifying magical entities in the world of Frieren.
