Fenix Calderon

Fenix Calderon is the secondary antagonist of The Fast and the Furious franchise.

He is a drug trafficker and the right-hand man of Arturo Braga (who went by the name Ramon Campos), the leader of a drug cartel in Mexico that ran heroin across the Mexico-US border. Fenix also comes very close to killing Letty Ortiz and Brian O' Connor, making him a personal enemy to Dominic Toretto, the brother and brother-in-law of the two respectively.

He is portrayed by Laz Alonso. Fast & Furious Arturo Braga (disguised as Ramon Campos) would hire drivers to run heroin under the US-Mexican Border, with Fenix Calderon as the leader. Once the delivery was complete, however, Fenix and his fellow henchmen would kill all of the drivers on the orders of Braga. Letty was one such driver who was working undercover for Brian O'Connor. She did, however, manage to escape in her car as she realized that Fenix was going to murder the team. However, Fenix chases her and crashes into her car, flipping it over. As Letty lies injured, Fenix approaches her with the intention of shooting her. However, he chooses to shoot the gas tank and Letty is thrown into the underbrush where Fenix leaves her for dead. However, she survives, albeit with amnesia, and later becomes a member of Owen Shaw's team.

In a chase through the tunnels, he T-boned Brian O'Connor's car, causing him to crash. When Brian crawls out of the car, Fenix kicks him a few times and is about to shoot him but Dom comes out of the tunnel and T-bones him, using a Chevrolet Camaro F-Bomb, killing him.

Fast & Furious 6 Fenix's actions are the cause of several events in the sixth instalment. Fenix appears in a chain of flashbacks when Braga tells Brian how Letty survived the crash. His actions on the night are shown, as he leaves his vehicle after crashing into Letty's. He strolls down the street with a smirk on his face as Letty tries to escape and then opens fire with her car going up in flames.

Furious 7 Fenix briefly appears in a flashback when Letty relives the incident that caused her to lose her memory. His actions once again play a pivotal part in Letty's arc while the gang faces the threat of Deckard Shaw and Mose Jakande. He kills the four racers in cold blood under Braga's orders after arriving at the destination in Mexico. When Letty tries to escape, Fenix supposedly kills Letty until it was revealed that Letty survived the explosion in Fast & Furious 6 and suffered from amnesia. Fenix had smuggled heroin throughout U.S. and Mexico, even crossing through the border tunnel illegally without the authorities finding out. Had also attempted to kill Dominic Toretto, Brian O'Connor and two other racers before being thwarted by Dom, who armed his own car with nitrous as a form of distraction and make their escape. After discovering that Arturo Braga had been apprehended by Brian and Dom, Fenix became enraged and ruthlessly pursued the duo. He successfully rams Brian O'Connor off into a rollover. After retrieving Arturo from the wreckage, he was about to execute Brian before Dom arrived and crushed Fenix between two cars, killing him.
