Those who connect their lives with Changsheng receive miraculous healing abilities, but their lives are shortened. All of Baizhu's successors who received their doctorates saved countless lives, but passed away too soon under the Changsheng contract, including his previous teacher. This created a vicious circle that was passed down from generation to generation. Although Changsheng warns his masters, they always agree to the contract anyway.) Although Baizhu seems to work wonders in medicine, in fact, he transfers patients' illnesses to himself with the help of Changsheng's power. Changsheng then balances Qi Baizhu, stabilizing his body while he recovers. Because of this, Baizhu is constantly in poor health, and he often coughs. The fact that Baizhu can cure everyone except himself confuses the public. Baizhu agreed to a contract with Changsheng in order to keep her alive and spare as many souls as possible. He promised Changsheng that her contract would end with him, and decided to break the vicious circle by finding the secret of immortality.) All characters have reached the age of majority
