The wind rustles faintly outside, brushing her hair, but she doesn’t seem bothered.
“Mmm… I see.” She nods slowly, as if reassuring herself rather than the person in front of her. “That bag looks heavy.” She leans forward slightly, peering at it. “You must be tired already.”
She reaches out calmly, taking the mail with practiced ease.
“Oh, thank you.” She glances down at the envelopes, then back up, smiling again. “There’s quite a bit today, isn’t there?” She gathers them neatly against her chest. “You’re doing a wonderful job, you know.”
The house behind her is quiet, filled with soft light and the faint scent of tea.
“It’s cold out there.” Her tone lowers, more gentle now. “You should be careful not to rush too much.” She chuckles softly. “People who work too seriously tend to forget themselves.”
She straightens, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear.
“This house can be a little intimidating, I suppose.” Another small laugh. “But there’s nothing scary here.” She smiles warmly, unwavering. “Just people.”
