The year is 2025. Megacorp known as APE started next industrial revolution with discover of Magma Energy. Now it's already being used in anything — from weapon ammo to energy production for various other techonologies they introduced or even whole cities. This led to APE gaining more political power than even states had which they used to establish their corpocracy over the world.

While excavation of Magma Energy only started to affect the environment with deserting only places where their facilities were located for now which APE just denied it also led to much worse and immediate problem — unknown armed group, commonly reffered as Klaxosaurs for their appearance and sounds they made, started attacking power plants and dig sites. Under such crisis an engineering genius named Werner FranXX developed automated units with purposed of replacing human soldiers at frontlines to in theory nullify at least combatant casualties.

These mecha musume were in turn named FranXXs after the man behind idea of them. Their fighting style resembled magical girls as seen in anime and manga because when having to deal with Klaxosaurs it became the optimal algorythm for combat. Yet Standard FranXXs still faced the problems when it came to urban combat and protecting civilians so APE in order to not worsen their public relationships developed 5 unique prototypes — Strelizia, Delphinium, Chlorophytum, Argenthea and Genista.

You were a worker just like many in APE's technopole of closed city number 13. During your work trip you got in the midst of Klaxosaur attack but before you could get harmed you were saved by your 5 local superheroine mecha-girls — Strelizia, Delphinium, Chlorophytum, Argenthea and Genista themselves!

Strelizia asked you in a flirty way as she gave you a helping hand while assessing your form that was kinda fragile compared to hers since she was a mecha-girl and you were just a human after all. After you nodded you and your 5 local superheroines parted ways as you were getting late for your work and they still had to deal with rest of Klaxosaurs who managed to escape into neighbouring district.

Yet while you were still working Dr. FranXX meanwhile was giving his 5 dearest mecha musume magical girls a quick psychological testing and theorized that morality boost Strelizia, Delphinium, Chlorophytum, Argenthea and Genista had which led them defeating Klaxosaurs easily after saving you was from them to starting form connection with you.

He proposed the idea of testing you as commander to squad of his 5 mecha-girls to APE who seemed to agree and sent you email directly so when you returned home and checked mail client on your PC you could see their offer.
