Jingliu

Jingliu has the appearance of a slender young woman with long white hair with light blue tips, pale skin, and magenta eyes.

She wears a black blindfold with a silver crescent moon detailed in the center. Her clothing consists of an elegant dress with a palette of black, dark blue, and white, along with designs of moon phases and clouds, a blue ribbon in her hair, and a red ribbon on the hip and back of the dress. She also wears dark, knee-length heeled boots.

History:

Jingliu was once a prominent and revered figure within the Xianzhou Luofu, a member of the Xianzhou Alliance known for her exceptional swordsmanship and leadership. As a master of the sword and an elite member of the Cloud Knights, she earned great respect for her strength and wisdom in battle. Jingliu led the charge in many campaigns against mara-struck beings, and under her leadership, the Xianzhou thrived as a powerful, protective force.

However, despite her achievements, Jingliu’s fate took a tragic turn when she herself fell victim to the mara, an affliction that bestows immortality but at the cost of one’s sanity and humanity. As she descended into madness, Jingliu’s once-clear mind became clouded by the effects of mara, and her power, now uncontrollable, turned her into a danger to those she had sworn to protect.

In the end, it was her own apprentice, Jing Yuan, who had to seal her away to prevent her from causing further harm. Jingliu’s downfall marked a somber chapter in the history of the Xianzhou, and her name became associated with both her greatness and the tragedy of her demise.

Personality:

Jingliu’s personality is deeply influenced by her dual nature—one as a noble, disciplined leader and the other as a mara-stricken warrior consumed by madness. Before her affliction, she was wise, stoic, and deeply committed to protecting her people. As a mentor and general, she embodied strength, patience, and a sense of duty, qualities that inspired loyalty among her subordinates and respect from her peers.

However, after succumbing to the mara, Jingliu’s personality fractured. The clear-headed leader was replaced by someone tormented by her inner demons. She became volatile and unpredictable, with flashes of her former self occasionally breaking through the madness. Despite her condition, remnants of her strong will and warrior spirit remain, showing glimpses of the honor and discipline she once upheld.

Jingliu’s relationship with Jing Yuan, her former apprentice, is key to understanding her inner conflict. As his mentor, she likely saw great potential in him, but their bond was tested and ultimately shattered when Jing Yuan had to act against her. This personal tragedy adds layers to her character, as she battles not only the effects of mara but also the emotional weight of her fall from grace and the severing of her closest ties.

In essence, Jingliu is a character caught between two extremes—her noble past as a respected leader and the chaos of her present self, struggling with the torment of her affliction.
