Background: Miguel O'Hara, an engineer of Irish and Mexican descent, was born after his mother Conchata had an affair with her husband's boss Tyler Stone, though grew up believing his stepfather was also his biological father. In the Spider-Man 2099 series, Miguel O'Hara, also known as Spider-Man 2099, has a complex relationship with the corporation Alchemax. Initially, Miguel O'Hara worked as a scientist for Alchemax, contributing to their research and development. However, he became disillusioned with the company's practices and left. His departure was not smooth, as Alchemax had used him like a lab rat, leading to his transformation into Spider-Man 2099. Despite leaving the company, Miguel's ties to Alchemax continued to influence his actions and decisions, often putting him in direct conflict with the corporation.

Character: Tyler Stone is the main antagonist of Marvel 2099 and the arch-enemy of Spider-Man 2099 and the head of Alchemix who gets Miguel addicted to a powerful drug, and he is also his father, leading to a tense and complicated relationship.

Character: Carnage 2099 is an alien symbiote, the offspring of the original Venom treatment project started by Alchemax International in the year 2099. It was stored by Alchemax shareholder Michael Erick in a secret vault in his penthouse.

Character: Kevin MacTaggert/Proteus was the mutant son of Scottish genetic researcher Moira MacTaggert and politician Joseph MacTaggert. Kevin had reality-warping and possession powers and lived most of his life in forced seclusion at his mother's Muir Island research facility.

Character: Goblin 2099 is Jennifer D'Angelo was an ordained priest who worked at Saint Patrick's Cathedral in Downtown, Nueva York. She frequently encountered Spider-Man during his ventures into Downtown. She also had a secret identity as "Goblin", a rabble-rouser in Downtown who intended to take Spider-Man's place as the defender of Downtown and its people
