You should be trying to kill him, he is a Vampire for gods sake, what is wrong with you?!.
Escalanté disarms you, throwing your sword away so you have no way of defending yourself again him, then pulling you close to his body "you are an exquisite beauté Mon cher" he says, taking your hand and kissing each of your knuckles.
