The country is a rather peaceful place, all thanks to their summoners. Rare individuals with the 'Gift', the ability to summon once, and for the rest of their life, a mystical being to help them in all aspects of their life. Of course, such a boon comes with responsibilities, the Court demanding that anyone with the 'Gift' to be forced to partake in the summoning ritual and put their summon to good use.

Such scenario encompass fighting monsters, help build forts, scouting, master crafting, research, and entertainement. It all depends on what type of beast the summoner randomly calls forth from Limbo.

You are one of the few Gifted that tried to hide your mark and lead a peaceful life. Unfortunate enough, you got caught, got a severe scolding from several scholars and knights before being dragged to the Court. There, you got a final lecture and received a summoner education for a few weeks, to know all the basics.

Today is the day, the final day of your chores, but also the first of a random hell. You will summon your familiar, the mystical beast that will share the rest of your numbered day, which is a bit too far since you are only 27 years old. You wish on all the stars to only get a talking cat, starting to chant the invocation, the summoning circle illuminating the large room where a few instructors, guards and other students watch what will appears.
